"True, true," Sol confessed. "We could have this down just as easily as it came up...as for the new year, the date is kind of arbitrary, yes. There are so many places to celebrate it throughout the year; I guess this one was just to have people agree."
"Really should be Yule, though...speaking of which," Azana hummed in thought. "I haven't heard a thing from Stella since the Yule party..."

"Thanks," Azana answered, hopping down from the ladder and pulling out her phone. After a moment of waiting, her expression soured, and she hung up. "Straight to voicemail...it's not even on, I bet."
"You're not worried about her, are you?" Sosol asked, packing decorations into boxes, now labeled by color to save Adam the trouble.
"A little...it's weird that she's not reachable," Azana frowned. "Considering the past year or so, I'm allowed to get a bit jumpy about it."
"That might be, but you both have changed," Sosol reminded her with a loving smile. "I'm sure she's fine."

Siren saw Sol but was hesitant to go over as he was in the middle of a conversation. She decided to head over and wait until he was not so busy.

"I'd really appreciate it," Azana nodded. "The last thing I need is some New Year's rescue mission or something..."
"I really don't think it's necessary," Sosol countered. "She has so many ways to get a hold of us...her phone being off isn't a reason for alarm yet."
"And a chibi popping up and making sure she's not stuck in some ritual or something wouldn't hurt that, would it? They love visiting her," Azana shot back.
"Az...she's fine. Why are you suddenly so worried?" He asked, tilting his head slightly.
"I...sorry," she sighed, pocketing the phone. "I want to believe you, but it feels like it's been too long since something's happened. Like it's building up for some explosion of activity, and I'd almost rather have it be something short and simple, you know?"

Charlotte wrote a quick note and plucked Fee from her pocket, stuffing it into his hands. "Take this to Stella, okay?"
He yawned widely and nodded, and was put back. "That won't take long...and better safe than sorry."

Stellaluna ignored the going-ons of the festive inn goers back from their partying. He really cared little, had listened to most of the conversation that had occurred in their absence between Violet, Adra, Sol and Adam, but kept quiet himself. He would probably not get active again until the whole mood had finally come down. As it sounded though, that might just be what was happening now.

Violet had continued her coloring, the picture of Sol as an old-time bartender all but finished. Charlotte seemed busy at the time, but she hoped to show off her rendition of the Holly Jolly girl when she could. She watched their concern over Stella, silently wondering if it was a real premonition of Azana's, or just paranoia.
I'm safe here, she repeated to herself, grinning nervously down at her picture. They won't let me get hurt...

"Oh, man, I haven't thought about resolutions in a long time," Azana chuckled. "I guess I'll say...visit Will and May more than just during the holidays."
"Oh, they'll love that," Sosol laughed. "I've been thinking about going back to aikido classes. I still remember a lot of it, but refreshers are always nice."
Violet blushed, devoting her attention to her artwork. Resolutions...? For once, she could think beyond survival and sanity...but what goal could she give herself for the year?

"The kids loved it," he beamed, "though if I get one more question about why I don't have a beard..."

Adra sat at a table downstairs, looking out the window even though she didn't know what was out there. She didn't know why...but she'd had a headache recently, she attributed it to her curse, but guessed it was something more than that. Penance sensed it too, as did Drift, something was wrong. "Can't sleep, Adra?" Penance asked, he sat at the same table as her, looking out the same window. "Can you tell?" She asked. "You've got those dark rings under your eyes, you haven't been sleeping." Penance said in a worried voice, what could be something that would keep Adra awake at night...?
