(OOC: Need to leave for a while.)

Nix replied lightly in her own writing, "Nothing much. Is your human self mute as well?".

"Sokai!" he said, pouncing, about half the flock following. "Haiyaaaa!"

He nodded, and wrote "he mute tu"

Gareus flinched, unused to being pounced. let alone by small flocks.

"E-ehh?!"

He instinctively shut his eyes and let out a blind swat in a second's panic.

One chirped and got squished flat. The rest chirped. "Skuiiishiii!"

The commotion surrounding Gareus, seeing how he was sitting in front of and a bit to the side of Nix, easily caught the silver-haired girl's attention. She watched with some surprise as one of the chibis was squished with relative ease without any of the other chibis seeming to mind in the slightest. Her shocked eyes made it obvious that she was wondering whether or not the chibi was alright.

However, her attention returned to He-chan when she saw in the corner of her vision that he had finished. "I see," the girl wrote her immediate reply and then hesitated a bit as she looked back up. She resumed writing after some thought, "When you're squished, how hard is it to recover?". It was truly a mystery to her. Here were the chibis with one of their kind just squished by what must seem like a dumb giant to them and they didn't seem worried in the slightest. At least, not by any of Nix's standards did they seem worried.

He pointed. The squished chibi popped back into shape in a second's time, clearly unharmed. He then wrote: "skuish no hurt. Anoying."

Nix nodded in understanding and thought, She continued to watch Gareus and the chibis. If getting squished was annoying, then would they retaliate in revenge? However, she did look down just long enough to reply, "You chibis are quite interesting aren't you?".

"we think so" he scribbled, smiling slightly, friendly looking through long black hair.

Nix made a small, silent laugh at the response. In the background, she could hear the chirruping of the chibis. Even in just the short time she had spent with them, she knew that these beings were just as intelligent as any of the inns inhabitants, The girl had accidentally entered a thoughtful state while thinking of a reply to He-chan. She had meant it when she said that the chibis were interesting and when there was something that interested her, it wasn't unusual for her to fall into thought about it.

Well, the pause might have been long. However, her thinking wasn't a total waste. She had thought of a reply, and she wrote that reply down, "Your language. Is the tone of the voice important in it? Do you guys have a written form for it?".

He's lead snapped. He looked to it, then to Zippo, who looked up to Charlotte. "Piiiigriiiii..!"

"That might be my cue..." she smiled, coming over and reading the questions. "Oh...oh, good questions! They do have a written language, sort of. But tone's a big deal, and so's arm position. It's like Chinese and semaphore all at once."

Nix thought in slight disappointment as she bit down on the tip of her pencil. However, her outward expression was just one of simple thought. Not a trace of disappointment could be seen on it. As she thought, Nix clicked down on her mechanical pencil several more times and broke the lead from it once more. She held it out to He to either take or not and then wrote her reply, "Uwah, that sounds really complicated. Chibis are really impressive to have a language like that," a pause to think some more, "Charlotte, do you understand their language?".
PostPosted: Wed Dec 28, 2011 10:51 pm

She beamed, nodding. "Yep! But it's a lot of trouble to learn, so I wouldn't worry too much about learning it. There's the primary translation, and then you have to sort of paraphrase...it's kind of hard." she said, looking to the chibis. "Eri, throw me a line. How's the weather?"

Eri waved his arms about. "Chiiichuriiiipiipii!"

"The sky's shedding snow."

Nix nodded in understanding. She knew what Charlotte meant. The paraphrasing part was true for most languages, really. What really daunted Nix was how Eri talked. The idea of positioning the arms correctly while also making the correct pitch seemed very difficult to the girl. Although, it wasn't like she was going to talk, of course, so there wasn't really any reason for her to even be debating about learning the spoken language. The written language was what interested her more, but if Charlotte said it was troublesome to learn, she wouldn't ask to learn it.

In response, Nix wrote, "That's their way of saying that it's snowing?".

(OOC: Alright, I probably need to head to bed soon, so yeah.... If I'm suddenly offline, it's because of that sweatdrop .)

"...Kinda..?" she tried. "And the written's just a bunch of little scratches unless you know the spoken, so...I'd just let them use Engrish."
