Nix looked up from her drawing once more at Set's and Rei's arrival. These two, she definitely recognized and she waved to them in greeting, a smile on her face as usual. She also recognized He's tail beginning to wave. The girl scribbled something below what she had previously written and showed it to He, "If you want, you can go and greet them."

"Hey, Set! What's the matter?" asked Charlotte, peering over the back of the couch.
He sniffed the air after them. He didn't know these people.

"It's my birthday." Set said grimly, looking up at her.
".....He doesn't like the holidays." Rei explained. "And no one in the family celebrates his birthday. In fact, it's bad luck."

Nix thought as she continued to watch He. She returned to drawing. The body and tail were going nicely, so she decided to move on to the face. She further defined the hair and the shape of the face, adding in a nose and a mouth but leaving the spot where the eyes would be blank. That finished, she returned the body, and continued to add details to it after erasing some now unneeded guiding lines. She hoped she was getting everything. She meant for the tail to be in mid-movement, but looking at it again, it just seemed to be frozen in a weird position,

Adam peeked from the head of the stairs, wondering this himself.

She smiled brilliantly, and snapped her fingers, a sudden pop of confetti festooning them all. "Then let's!"
Adam beamed, bringing down a present. "Yahoo!"

Kristen shielded her fireball from the confetti, grinning at the idea of a birthday celebration. "I had no gift prepared...Set, was it?"
((And finally watching the Doctor Who Christmas Special...back in an hour!))

Nix had almost finished with the drawing, only needing to fill in the eyes, when the confetti rained down. The girl sighed silently and smiled as she looked up at the confetti, and then at the group forming around Set. She then looked down at her drawing of He, The girl closed the sketchbook, and contented herself with simply watching the festivities.

"Paper chains...?" Kristen looked to Charlotte, giving a shrug. "I think you can do that quite well, Zippo..." She sighed, heading off to fetch some paper. There could be worse tasks...
