"Oh, we've met, vaguely," Stella nodded, reading glasses on as she looked over whatever she could find on the properties of souls. She was betting James would have an easier time of it, but that didn't mean she couldn't help. What was it about these that mimicked a soul? What about it satisfied a demon's needs? Could they possibly synthesize it, if a fruit could do the job? "Her priestess would more likely remember me."
"The latter part's mostly my fault," Tyler chuckled, gesturing to Jim. "The Drinkamajig was all Charlotte, though."
"I'm not surprised she's still pissed...a portion of her church network was ruined, and a lot of the followers she was draining to permanently cross over are still in prison." Azana shrugged. "We set her back at least--well, up until now, I'd guess."

"I told her about the drink machine." he chuckled. "She's most interested in Violet and you, Miss Azana, however. I'm trying to be careful with what I say and how. She asked about a gift she gave Violet, and I don't know what she meant, but Tyler got mad about it."
Adam hummed, making tea. "Anyone want sage tea?"

Azana scowled. "Violet was wearing a cursed choker when we found her. Lifting that curse was a pain in the a**."
"Calling it a gift's an insult," Tyler said simply.
"Certainly...sage tea's good for the mind," Stella said, her piece of the fruit kept in a bottle for the time being. Nothing like a time limit...

"Our thoughts exactly," Azana nodded in agreement. "As far as I can tell, Kasdeya considers Violet to be hers. I'm guessing that choker was supposed to ensure it."
"At least she didn't brand her like the other followers," Tyler muttered. "Kid's got enough scars."
"Oh, cool...!" James exclaimed out of the blue from the corner, still having a wild time with his part of the soulfruit. Gather data now, crunch it later.

He snorted. "Overstepping her station...no good comes of that." he frowned. "Well, I'm not going to let it happen. Violet's nice. She's not sinned enough to be demon property."
"Malachai, you have a strange set of principles..."
"Maybe, but they haven't failed me yet! Besides, I can get why she'd want Violet around, cause she's nice and talented, but ownership's something else entirely."

"Yeah...it's just getting the message across that seems to be the problem. Even if we did, though, she'd still have a grudge."
"She needs to pick her fights more wisely," Stella said, flipping a page or two. "She couldn't even beat us the first time. Oh...I wonder if a duplication spell would work..."
"She's not looking to beat you," Tyler said, now void of board or knife but rather a paper and pencil. "I believe her words were 'I'll take delight in breaking them'...whatever that means."

"It wouldn't be the first time someone's done it," Azana frowned, looking to James in the corner. Every fiber of her being was about to charge straight into Delphi, had it not been for Sol and Gren's help. Then again, Sibyl had targeted her FAST as well...
"Psychological warfare...?" Stella flicked her glance over to them. "I don't see how she'd pull that off."
"It's not hard, given all the close ties here," Tyler shrugged. "Then again, I know a lot more than she does, and I'd like to keep it that way."

"Oooh!" he smiled, picking up the cup and drinking it steaming. "Mmm...anyway, is there anything I absolutely must not say to her?"

"Well, one thing from my end," Tyler answered Malachai, taking a cup and thanking Adam before continuing. "One of the Knights on that list is my girlfriend. She can't know that, especially considering I'm kind of the middleman on this whole thing."
"Nothing from me," Stella sighed, taking a small piece of the fruit and muttering a duplication spell over it. Sadly, nothing happened to it. "Okay...not that easy."
Azana frowned, knowing one thing Kasdeya didn't need to know but unsure if she'd trust Malachai with not saying it. Then again, Tyler would be there...
"She can't know Sol's my husband," she said at last. "She probably doesn't remember him at all, but I'm not letting you paint a target on him."

"Nothing here," Tyler added, humming in thought. Kris and Sol were already related, so there was no conflict there.
Violet peeked over the banister, hearing talk of family. "...my family..." She talked to herself, popping back around the corner and sliding to a seated position. "I haven't seen them for a while...I'm on Spring Break in a couple weeks..."

Violet peeked back around, grinning sheepishly as she slunk to a table nearby. "Um, sure..." she said, setting down a small stack of sketchbooks. "I just...I heard a lot of talking down here...but I think I should, yeah. I heard my brother's got a new business now, since leaving prison..."
She glanced back to James, shrinking slightly at the sight of his fervor. It reminded her a bit too much of Chris and his alien obsession...
