"Intelligence," Azana said simply. "That's what I'm understanding, at least. Kasdeya's asking for information from Malachai in return for his meals. Tyler's been allowed into their church, and can monitor what Malachai tells Kasdeya in addition to taking in observations of his own. Don't get me wrong...it's a huge risk, and one I wish he didn't take, but he didn't give us a chance."
She grumbled. "That's what really irks me...he didn't even say anything until after the deal was made."
"...whoa..." Terry blinked, hearing the explanations. "That's really tricky, isn't it...? And with demons...not really known for being trustworthy..."

"You know the old line about it being easier to get forgiveness than permission, Terry..." he sighed, listening to the clunks in the kitchen. "I wish he'd have at least asked too, but let's be honest: we'd have said no. But, Az...I trust you on these things. You've seen the results. What do you think? Is it working? Everyone getting on?"

Azana took a deep breath, feeling the weight of Gren's trust on her shoulders. "As far as keeping him fed, yes. Tyler's been gleaning bits of information from his interactions with the cult, and Malachai is keeping mum about anything Kasdeya doesn't already know to ask about. Especially Charlotte and Orrin; according to Ty, he sees them as our secret weapons. So, in a nutshell...his gamble's paying off."
She jumped slightly as some of the noises from the kitchen. "I'm...a little worried about you, though," she said after some hesitation.
Terry felt a little lost on the whole thing...espionage was far from his forte. In most of his endeavors, things were a lot more clear.

"Just a bit..." Azana mirrored his expression, thinking the news about Ty's gambit enough of a report for the day. "Look...Adam's planning a garden party for his birthday...think you could show up for that?"
Terry stood from his seat, curiosity getting the better of him. "What the heck's going on back here...?" He asked, peeking his head into the kitchen.

"Oh, sure! When is it?" he smiled brightly, pleased by the idea. "Sounds like a nice way to celebrate."
There was a *boink* sound as a blob of ice cream hit the floor.
"That is the sound of scientific progress, my friend." smiled Charlotte, magicing an extra part onto the already renovated Drinkamajig. "I have a fine plan."

"...Ice cream?" Terry blinked, looking to the Drinkamajig. "It wasn't crazy enough? Oh...floats! Brilliant!"
"The 23rd...and it totally suits him," she replied before suddenly getting the impression to turn to the stairs.
James ran downstairs, almost tackling Azana in an energetic hug. "You. Are the best. Friend. Ever," he beamed, looking over to Gren. "Oh, hey there!"
"H-hey, Tech," Azana said, slightly winded from catching him. "Find anything yet...?"

"It'll free up a lot of space in the freezer, too," Terry nodded. "What's with the sudden inspiration, though...?"
"Nothing yet...but that's the best part! I haven't had a challenge like this in years!" He gave another squeeze and let Azana go. "All because of you guys!"
"He and Stella are studying the soulfruit," Azana coughed, taking a few deep breaths to recover from James' overenthusiastic hug. "I think the hope's to find a synthetic substitute or a way to find them outside of the current method."

"I miss all the fun," Terry chuckled. "I guess that's what I get as a teacher...plenty of time in the summer, though. Think I could help test it?"
"Umm...well, they usually grow in Hell, so a hot climate's a must," James nodded. "If it's a plant, it might need water. They do have rivers in Hell, after all..."
"In other words, we don't have much to go on," Azana shrugged.
