Zulma smiled more earnestly as the man repeated her own words at her.
"Which is probably why I keep coming back to this place..." she admitted.
"This is as close as I have from having a home." she added looking at him through her golden eyes.

Zulma shook her head.
"No... this Inn was owned by someone else before me...it was almost destroyed during the BOO/SIN war. But because it had been a place of love and peace, some tried to preserve it and I was asked to take care of the place." she explained.
"I am not an innkeeper...I am a warrior you know...I did not grow up in one town...my father and I kept traveling..." there was a hint of regret or nostalgia in her voice.

Zulma relaxed a little in her chair. "I don't know... To prove that peace could be the answer?" she played with a lock of her hair, thinking about how much her life had changed with the Inn.

"It is a tempting idea...." she admitted but often she grew reckless and had to leave the place, unable to fulfill her obligations.
"I don't really know what are my dreams any more... as for the Inn it would not be anything without Gren, he has been doing so much..." her voice was calm.

"Incredibly," Tyler piped up, coming from what seemed to be nowhere with a mug of coffee. He felt a lot more human now, and took a seat near the two but distant enough not to impose on their conversation. "If you'd let me listen, of course."
Orrin blinked, finding himself calmly leaning on the kitchen wall. His limeade was lukewarm, the ice long melted. "Oh, dear...I thought I had rested enough."

"You bet!" he smiled, counting on his fingers. "I want to ride in a boat, see an elephant in person, pet a bird...stand on something really tall, and find out what that odd game with all of the numbers in boxes is about and why it's popular."

Zulma nodded and smiled. She was about to answer when a familiar voice spoke up. She turned to look at Tyler who sat not too far. She dared a little smile towards the man but did not say anything. Then she looked back at Mal and let him speak.
Her features relaxed as the man spoke.
"Maybe you could stand on an elephant?" she offered brightly. "That would combined two!"
The man had simple dreams, she liked that. Maybe she had become too complicated?

((going to the dentist in a few hours, I have a phobia of shots and injections, so they're going to put me on Valium instead.)) It had taken much longer than needed for a flying reptile to go and return with a pair of swim trunks, but the soft sound of a landing was heard outside, "Nixie Malachai!" called the bell-like voice of the tatsu, "I brought the water!" The door opened and stepping through was not dawn, but rather a tall man who stood straight with his shoulders square. Long straight blond hair fell down to his thighs and blue eyes looked around, he was holding a bag in one hand, the other in his pants pocket, "alright," he said in a velvet voice, "which one of you is the one that doesn't like my brother?" Riki, meanwhile tried to maneuver best he could so that his clawed hands holding a barrel with the distinct swishing of water inside could fit through the door and set it down so that no one else would have to worry about carrying it inside because it was heavy. He finally managed it past the threshold with a triumphant laugh and settled back outside. Dawn was there as well, on his back, still in his priest robes with an open book, studying it carefully. He slid off Riki's back and the boy transformed and ran inside. He snatched teh bag from the blond man's hand and ran to Malachai with a happy grin, "here you go," he said happily a little more loud than necessary, "Dawn didn't touch it at all, he had to go get the water for you, so I picked it out and everything! It's black! Demons like black right?" The blond man meanwhile turned and smiled at the demon, "ah, you. You are my new favorite person," he said no more about it instead moved over to sit at a table near Zulma, giving her a grin and a wink before diverting his attention out the door at Dawn who was standing outside reading still. ((Advent:  Might I add, I wish TekTek had a delete function.))

Zulma raised an eyebrow at the entrance of a new comer. Brother? Who was he talking about? Hearing Riki and seeing a giant claw push a barrel of water inside the Inn, she concluded that the blond man was one of Phoenix's brother. She wondered how many she had!
She stared at Riki who jumped in, grabbed the bag and handed it to Mal. She sighed. They were not going to leave Mal out of that one. He better accepted it if the priest had not touched it, he could throw it away later if he wished to.
Her gaze trailed to the new comer as he commented on Mal being his favorite person. He seemed comfortable enough to sit and not introduce himself and...wink at her. She blinked, confused. Had they met?
"Thank you for bringing the water." she said to Riki and Dawn, her habit as an innkeeper kicking in and she stood back up, smile on her lips, her empty glass in hand.
"You brought a new guest?" she asked looking at the brothers then the blond man. He looked quite different from his siblings.

Advent chuckled, "Riki doesn't have his ears on, you will have to face him directly so that he can read your lips," the blond man stood and faced Zulma, "but since he's preoccupied I shall introduce myself. Advent Driscoll, former soldier, small-time actor, and the only normal one in the family," he gave Zulma a charming smile, holding out his hand for her to accept.
