(OOC: Oh, just noticed my very serious typo in my last post. Sorry, I meant "showed it to Gareus with a perfect quizzical expression on her face." Nix didn't make a sketch of herself or anything of that sort. She just made a quizzical expression. My bad >< .)
Nix's new expression was a mixture of surprise and awe that showed she now understood what the boots were. The calm appearance lasted only for so long, though, before an excited smile took over. Tapping her foot quickly, Nix happily wrote down, "You must have traveled to a lot of places, then? Can you tell me about them?" and showed it to Gareus.

(Um... no harm done? It was about the same in my head. Prolly just came out weird when I wrote it, I guess... razz )
He read the next sentence, chuckling.
"I guess I could tell you a couple'a stories... What would you want to hear about in the first place?"
Gareus leaned back on the bar counter, grinning. He hadn't told a story in a while.

This question required a bit of thought on Nix's part, so there was an understandable pause during which the girl steadily tapped the tip of her pencil on her lower lip. Finally, she came up with an answer and replied in writing, "How about your most recent story?".

"Hmm... The Freljord Peaks? There's not much to be said about those, but..."
He hummed, thinking back to the icy mountains of Ashe and Tryndamere's kingdom.
"Well... I was called there by some old friends. An archer and a swordsman, both well-renowned, and married royalty. They were trying to work negotiations with another city, Ionia. Apparently things had gotten somewhat slowed down in trade routes; someone was attacking the merchant caravans, so I went to investigate."

Nix listened, bright-eyed and attentive. She nodded for Gareus to continue when he paused after the little introduction. She already had a question or two. However, as her questions required her to write them down rather than speaking it, the girl chose to wait and see if they were answered later. Actually, even is she could say them out loud, she would prefer to just wait.

(Yup! : D Guess who Gareus is?)
"So. I travel along with one of the caravans dressed as one of them, which was a bit itchy with all the layering they had, and am on my way to Ionia. We're toting a dummy caravan, armed with normal-clothes soldiers and hiding the bigger guys in some covered wagons."
He rubbed a bit of cheek fluff, humming.
"Things went almost too easily, but we got it over with. It turned out to be a small gang from another city called Noxus. They weren't really being commissioned by the high courts to do so, but there was a lot of controversy when that information got out. But when they came out, we took care of them all, knocking them out and bringing them to the local authorities."
Gareus made a motion with his left arm, his other arm reaching in and pulling back like an arrow... but curiously it went to the back of his hand rather than the bare wrist like a normal archer.
"Haha... I tried to do that when I fought... forgot I can't anymore..."

(OOC: Mm.... Sorry, don't know. I don't play LoL. I just have several friends that do sweatdrop .)
Nix had listened quietly and intently, not moving an unnecessary muscle all the way until the last part of the story. Her face remained attentive and curious. Upon seeing the mysterious actions of Gareus's hands, though, her expression changed to one of genuine confusion. She puzzled quietly to herself for a few moments, frowning lightly and tapping her pencil on the countertop in thought,
Decision made, Nix wrote down the question carefully in her notebook and showed it tentatively to Gareus, "What can't you do anymore? What was that weird move?". To specify the movement Nix was talking about, she imitated Gareus's archer-like movement.

(Got it. Gareus is an aged version of one of my favorite champions. in LoL.)
"Ah? Oh, um..."
How to explain? It was like saying you didn't know how to ride a bike anymore.
"I used to, uhm... be able to mold magical energy into things. I was fond of bows and arrows when I was a child, but I could never use the real thing. Thus, the magic bow."

(OOC: Really? Hmm.... I think it would be less trouble to just ask you outright, but I sort of want to try and figure out this champion myself, so I'm going to toss in random guesses. Is it Ezreal?)
For a moment as Gareus hesitated, Nix was afraid that she had perhaps stepped too far into private matters. In fact, she was just about to raise a hand to signal that he didn't need to force himself to explain when Gareus finally found words to say what he wanted. Nix expressed her understanding of the explanation with a silent "oh" before pouting slightly to show that she felt bad for Gareus. Actually, she didn't just feel bad, she could also slightly sympathize with his problem; although, she did nothing to show any such similarity.
Nix set her open sketchbook down flat on the counter and stared at it for a moment to gather her thoughts. She then wrote out her response in plain view, "Hopefully you weren't hurt because you forgot?". She had been tempted to ask the reason why Gareus could no longer mold magic, but had felt that one story was enough for a day.

(Yup. Possibly one of the weakest, under-powered champs in the game. But so very satisfying to kill people with.)
"Naw, naw, I had a couple more friends of mine along, Teemo and Nunu."
He held a flat hand a bit above his head and at his stomach, then at both sides around shoulder width.
"Little guys about yea by yea. A yordle and a kid. Looks harmless, but heck if they don't know some stuff about fighting. Teemo could make a fool out of the best of assassins, and Nunu rides a yeti that would take a bite of anyone Nunu orders... and that kid is definitely pretty durn merciless for his age."

Lin had had a little walk in Adam's garden. Most of the flowers were on their decline but the place was still filled with colors. Dark clouds had started gathering and she decided that she did not want to get wet, however before she could make it inside, it started raining.
When the Asian woman entered the Inn, beads of rain were rolling down her silky hair. With elegant movements, slowly and carefully, she chased away water from her light peach clothes not noticing Gareus speaking to a person she had never met before.

Gareus took note of Lin as she entered, pausing from his story to give her a wave.
"Yo."
He blinked, watching her move the water off of her clothes so easily. Was that like... a Scott Pilgrim chakra trick?

Hearing a familiar voice, Lin raised her head to meet Gareus's gaze. She bowed to him. "Mister Gareus." she greeted him politely, then bowed at Nix. "I was not fast enough." she said. This was a simple statement more than a sigh. There was no regrets in her voice. She left her traditional shoes by the door. They mostly explained why she could not run even if she wanted and to be honest, it was not in her way to rush anywhere, rain or not.

He took a peek outside from a distance, seeing windows streaked with water. His thoughts drifted for a bit to remembering connecting water droplets like stars in the sky.

Lin had pulled out her handkerchief and was dabbing her hair to remove the last drops. She looked at Gareus with her usual calm expression.
"Rain is life." she said softly, then added.
Shower of nature
Refreshing to the planet
Pure water from the heavens.
As she spoke, looking outside, her silver eyes were taking the ton of a grey rainy day.
