Lin thought about it a moment, she would not have thought the process to be so difficult, but now that he mentioned it, he was right.
"You must know a lot about many different people." she said with a hint of admiration in her cool voice.

"I have traveled as well for many years, but I do not have your talent to converse easily with strangers." the Asian woman said slowly. This was a simple fact and there was no regret in her voice, this was how she was and this was how he was.


"When you do not travel, is there something you like doing?" she asked.

Lin wondered what kind of target practice he was talking about. Guns? Bow? She was not very at ease with weapons.
When he spoke of drawing though, his face seemed to lighten up.
"Anything in particular that you like drawing?" she asked. Deep in herself, she felt a little proud to be able to speak with someone and be the one asking questions instead of answering.

When a stranger entered, Nix stood back (well, technically sat) and watched Gareus and the woman who was known as Lin converse. Her natural mundaneness allowed her to easily not be called on or noticed other than the initial greeting by Lin. While the way Lin acted at first struck an uncomfortable memory in Nix, the girl easily calmed down and relaxed. Lin might have seemed to act like that remembered woman, but it didn't take long to realize just how different the two really were. Mild, almost nonexistent discomfort was quickly replaced with interest. Here were two travelers. How interesting to listen to what they say.

"Mm."

He watched her as she spoke, waving to Nix just as he heard a warbling. Gareus looked down.

"Eghck. It seems I have more duties to fulfill."

Gareus got to his feet, readying himself. If he was going to be whisked away, it would at least be in a proper standing position. His body slowly started to lose the opaqueness of solid nature, the light bending around him as the runes on his boots started to move. He tipped his cap, apologizing with a smile.

"I'm a mailman now, if I didn't tell you yet, Miss Lin."

(Leaving after the next post, gotta take care of children and run some errands. )

Lin's gaze turned back to Gareus when he stood up and became almost transparent. Her hand unconsciously tightened on the table clothe which she had used on the floor and on which she was sitting. She blinked.
"A mailman?" she whispered as he disappeared. Didn't he say that he was merely human? Her face was calm but she was utterly confused.

Nix couldn't help but feel bad at Lin's confusion. Hoping that it might ease her confusion, the girl folded up one of her legs up so that it was folded against her chest. The action would bring a shoe to rest on the edge of the chair. Nix would point at the laces of her shoes to reference the straps on Gareus's boots. As Lin had been sitting below Gareus for a while, Nix was sure that she would have seen Gareus's boot straps, and if she saw the boot straps, then she must have seen the strange runes. Hopefully, the woman would manage to connect the runes with Gareus's sudden vanishing act.

Normally, Nix would have been cautious about sharing information on others. It was not her secret to share. However, considering Gareus was willing to tell Nix so much about his boots upon meeting her and seemed to be exponentially closer to Lin than Nix, the girl doubted there would be any problem with giving a small hint to clear away the woman's worries.

Nix nodded to show that Lin was correct. Then, as Lin went about her business, the girl went about her own. She pulled out a different sketchbook than the one propped on the counter in front of her and began to sketch out recent events.
