"Ah...it was one of the few fields where I was really pushed," Stella answered him, chuckling sheepishly. "Mapmaking's a pretty useful skill, too, though. I could teach you a couple things to be useful there, too, if you want."
She hummed in thought. "Tomorrow, we can get you some basic tools and get on the real fun. Until then..." She opened a portal, pulling a book from it and setting it down. "A little basic theory for you. The Laws of Magic, as well as the basic ethics of the arcane arts."

A book. And not even an old one. Just the sight of it made a shiver go up his spine.
"Hrmm. This'll take a while."
He accepted the book, opening it immediately in the middle and flipping through various diagrams and paragraphs.
"Yeah... A looong while."

"Um...the abridged version. Cheat sheets," Stella corrected herself. How out of date was this man? "She was never one for long reads, either, so she condensed them for her exams. Anyway, you don't have to read all the theory...just concentrate on the main Laws and Ethics, and you'll be fine."

"It's no problem. I just feel bad wasting the entire night without giving you something to do. It's hard to search for a good wand at night, though it would give you a chance to try a light spell," Stella smiled. She hadn't had to teach too much before...she hoped she could adjust her knowledge for Gareus.

He shrugged, skritching a bit of cheek fluff.
"Thank you for helping me out. I'd have still been aching out it out quietly if you hadn't come along. Haven't taken lessons in a good long time, so if you can bear with me, I'd be grateful."

He sighed and place the book under an arm, tipping his hat to Stella and smiling.

"Apparently...very busy," she answered, sitting down and looking over the other magic siphons she had brought with her. "Luckily, I'm not quite as involved with the educational system, but it's still a pain. Most of the curriculum changes have to at least be stamped by me."
She blinked, a sudden realization as she pulled out a slip of paper. "Speaking of which, Terry was wondering if anyone around here wanted to visit one of his weapons classes."
