[RP] The Inn of Peace - IoP (Open to all)

[Gareus Fletcher]

"Hm... Salami... provolone... cucumbers... eggplant..."

He cringed a little, shaking.

"Ice cream."  

[Astra_Senpai]

Senpai smiled, head tilting to the side, "I admit... I have a hard time translating the language. Does...ice cream not belong on sandwiches?"  

[Gareus Fletcher]

"Well... It is not common among the sandwiches I have tasted before."

For some reason, he tried a second bite.

"Hm. It is not entirely unpleasant, though..."  

[Astra_Senpai]

Senpai was content with the juice, waiting until the armor was finished- being polite and never rising from the seat. Senpai's eyes would close, content with the feedback and the shared enjoyment of the creation.  

[Gareus Fletcher]

After a few moments, Kassadin had finished both sandwiches, patting his stomach.

"In all truth, far tastier than I had expected it to be. But where are my manners, sir, I have not even presented my name before such a service."

He bowed where he was in the air.

"Kassadin, a scientist. A pleasure to make your acquaintance."  

[Astra_Senpai]

Senpai's eyes would open, smile softening, standing and bowing back, "I am Senpai. I am a mushi observer. The pleasure is mine."  

[Gareus Fletcher]

"Mushi?"

Kassadin would take a 'seat' next to Senpai's, hands in his lap.

"This is a sort of... animal? Flower?"  

[Astra_Senpai]

Senpai would sit, arranging the heavy cloth over the curse and giving a small sigh, "It is hard to explain, most just smile awkwardly."
Looking at Kassadin, studying the helmet as if looking into the eyes of a person, "They dwell unseen in the shadows, a host of creatures far different than the flora and fauna familiar to us. An invisible world of life within our own. Since the dawn of humanity these phantoms have inspired fear in those who could not understand and have over the ages come to be known as mushi."
Sitting up straighter Senpai's eyes half closed, no longer making contact, a soft bitterness in the warm tone, "Mushi are things that are somewhere between life and death. They’re like 'beings' and like 'things.' Like they are living but on the verge of death."

As Kassadin listened, there was a stillness in his body language, completely attentive. It sounded all too much like the life of the Void... Creatures that should not have been dead, but would do unthinkable things alive. Even the tone of his voice spoke volumes on how he felt about his work.

"...I see."  

[Astra_Senpai]

Senpai gave a relieved sigh, it was rare for someone to understand- but as Kassadin asked no questions. Senpai offered one, "What is your field of study?"  

[Gareus Fletcher]

"I study... the Void."

He spoke low, but concisely.

"It is a place in between dimensions, in between spaces and worlds. It is like... if you were to full a cup full of marbles. If the marbles were compared to normal space and material and world, the air in between each would be considered the Void."

Kassadin clasped his fingers.

"As its location is somewhat... vague... there's no safe way to actually make it into the Void and out. I have made some... sacrifices for my research."  

[Astra_Senpai]

Senpai looked down and then directly to Kassadin, "How better to understand than to make a few sacrifices." Not a question. A flat statement which Senpai seemed only mildly comfortable making.

After a long moment, Senpai would offer, "Perhaps in our studies our paths have crossed- drawing us both to this place."  

[Gareus Fletcher]

"Such a statement... Somehow I want to believe it, despite what coincidence should say on the matter."

He clasped his fingers.

"I am also unsure of what may relate our two researches beyond the fact that it is a matter only we seem to see... Unless it is different for you. Are there others you know who research this mushi?"  

[Astra_Senpai]

Senpai nodded slowly, "There are few beings who can see mushi. Fewer more who are willing to study or observe them. But there are mushi masters who seek to keep the mushi and humans separate, as the relation is mostly but not always volatile."
Senpai's head bowed, "I have sadly never met a master." A sad tone lighted into Senpai's voice, "And as such I am an observer."  

[Gareus Fletcher]

Kassadin let his own head fall.

"I see... I am without a master in my science. It is somewhat... Intuitive. which is another way of saying that I'm the pioneer for what I'm doing, I suppose..."
