[RP] The Inn of Peace - IoP (Open to all)

Opal was mildly surprised, though it failed to show. "As you wish." Stepping around the man, stooping low and going through the door. She would wait for him, then begin to walk.

As Nix approached the inn, she saw a large woman make her way out of the building. Deeming it appropriate, the girl paused in her tracks and widened her eyes (well, only one of them could be seen as the other was covered by a patch). Surprise could probably be read in those eyes, but not fear. Politely, Nix stepped to the side to make way as she resumed walking to the inn's entrance. She didn't enter the inn yet, though. Instead, she choose to wait for Gren to make his way through the door, giving him a friendly wave and smile as she waited.

Gren pased by with a polite smile, holding the door for Nix's admittance. "Hello, Nix. Go on ahead in."

Giving in, Nix simply nodded in thanks as she quickly entered the inn. Once inside, she did her customary scan. She recognized Charlotte, Azana, and Sosol and greeted each of them with a friendly smile and wave. Then, the girl proceeded to seat herself at a table before continuing to watch her surroundings, trying to get a grasp of what exactly was happening about her.

(OOC: My memory is sort of fuzzy so please correct me if Nix recognized someone she shouldn't >< .)

(Can't remember if she's met Mal, so let's just get them acquainted. XD)

Remy hummed, sipping his blood. "H'lo, kiddo." he waved to Nix.

Malachai emerged from Felix's room with a notebook and a pencil, sitting down at a table with a look full of purpose as he began practicing his writing and spelling.

Nix had failed to recognize Remy upon entering, so she could help but start a little when he greeted her. The girl gave a friendly nod and wave of greeting; although, at the same time, she scolded herself for not having noticed Remy, While she performed her short, silent greeting to the vampire (all the while keeping her eyes firmly on his face and not at whatever he was drinking), the girl noticed a stranger enter the room with paper and pencil. Although, judging from how he came out of a room, he was probably a regular at the inn. The girl offered a friendly wave at red/white-haired man. Although, she wasn't sure if he noticed her considering how absorbed he was in his task.

In her spot near the edges of the inn, Nix managed to get a slight idea of what was going on. Remy seemed to be relaxing, drinking what the girl could only assume was blood (she didn't dare check). The stranger that had just entered the inn from a room seemed engrossed in some sort of writing or perhaps drawing, Azana and Sosol, meanwhile, were preparing what seemed to be dinner.

Now, Nix had to choose what to do. She could ask try to help Sosol and Azana with dinner. Although, she doubted her help would be accepted. Greeting the stranger was always a good idea. Then again, it would be nice to talk to Remy (even if he had blood in his possession).

Malachai bit his tongue slightly, holding his pencil in his fist as he carefully tried to write the words on the list that Felix had given him to practice. His writing was awkward, shaky, and very coarse, but he knew he had to learn.

Remy sipped his blood serenely.

In the end, Nix stood up and walked over to writing stranger. Making sure not to intrude in his personal bubble, the girl stood at the other end of the circular table he was seated on and quietly looked over the words he was practicing. As usual, a sketchbook (this one had a spiral binding so a pencil was also stuck through the rings at the edge) was grasped in Nix's hands. Although, she had yet to write in it.

(OOC: Didn't you guys add a forge to the inn or did I read/picture it wrong?)

(It's been there for ages, and it's a separate building.)

"Wi...n...dow..." murmured Malachai, tail twitching as he clumsily wrote the word. His list was at about first-grade level, each neatly printed for him to copy, instructions reading to write each five times. He'd just started window, his third word out of fifteen.

He blinked, glancing up with a sniff to the new girl before him, wings perking slightly. "Hi?"

Naiten, who had just finished looking through the word list, smiled in reply to the greeting. She mouthed the words, "hello," but did not make a single sound from her mouth as usual.

Mal held up his list proudly. "I'm practicing words! Felix says I have to learn how to write and spell if I'm gonna make it here."

Nix thought with a friendly smile, . Even though the tail and wings of the man were clearly visible to the girl, she didn't seem the least bit perturbed by the abnormal appendages. Raising up her sketchbook, Nix scribbled a question and showed it to what she could only guess was some sort of demon, "But you can speak well?". In addition to showing her message, the girl also pointed to Malachai's childish writing with a puzzled expression. She meant to ask why Malachai couldn't write nearly as well as he spoke.

Carefully reading the paper, he soon nodded. "Well, sure I can. I know how to speak, but I'm not so good on reading and writing...not the modern way, anyhow." said Malachai, scratching by one of his horns. "So I'm relearning a lot, and I'm new at using pencils."

Nix made an, "Ah," expression to show her understanding. Then a thought struck her. Quickly, Nix wrote down her new question and then showed it to Malachai, "Can you write down your name? I'm Nix Papillon." She had meant to eventually ask for Mal's name eventually. This way just seemed more interesting.

"Ooh! Yeah! I can do that, watch!" he said eagerly, taking up his pencil and carefully starting at the top of his page. "M...al...ac...hai." he managed, the letters stiff but fairly clear. "There. Malachai."
