[RP] The Inn of Peace - IoP (Open to all)

"Sort of. I summon them." she said, smiling. "Did she make good treacle?"

Mal looked back. "It's the funny green kind! There's an N in it!" he said helpfully. "Near the end! M's look like two n's put together!"  

[Astra_Senpai]

Senpai knew what a 'n' was! That helped! Oh! M...n...t... Boop! Teh tea was issued and it smelled correct! Cheerfully Senpai returned with renewed oolong, a tea for Charlotte and mint tea for both Malachai and Kiran. Senpai was proud of finding the word, carefully setting the cups down near the respective drinkers before returning to the spot on the couch. "Thank you, Malachai."

Kiran took several moments, he worked his jaw as a few tears welled down his cheeks- he bobbed his head, "S-she w-w-was... s..she sp-p-p-oiled m-me." He looked at the cup of tea, but would not reach for it- his hands writhing together, "S-someth-thing w-w-w-with t-t-treac-le at ev-er-r-r..ry m-meal."

Charlotte took her tea with murmured thanks, setting it down to cool as she listened to Kiran. "I see...I'm so sorry." she said softly, tender. "You must miss her terribly."

Malachai took his tea with a smile, tail swaying excitedly. That was the Her, wasn't it? Oh boy! Things were going to make sense now!

Kiran shook his head, his heart was beginning to race again, his lungs burn, more tears welled down, his voice soaking in long misery, "L-l-l-lik-ke a f-f-flow-wer m-mis...ses sp-pring." It was all he could summon for an answer, his tremble returning completely. He felt as if his soul was trying to shake free of flesh and bone.

Ohhhhhh. This woman...she died, probably. Yup. Oh man. Humans really got torn up over that. Malachai frowned sadly. "I'm sorry, Kiran...I didn't know..."

Charlotte patted his knee. "Go on...it's okay."  

[Astra_Senpai]

Kiran's lungs seemed to lock up. He gasped for air and shook his head, his hands moving like he was trying to explain. His tone was desperate but the words- the words wouldn't come. Very slowly he began to curl in on himself- one hand searching for his inhaler the other fumbling with the pocket watch.

Senpai's head shook, sorrow so deep. Senpai worried at the cup held in large hands. Biting chapped lips- how to console someone so upset?

"Well, um... I'd make it my own way, but I think my dad would feel better if I had an adult escorting me..."

Rhett looked up to Gren, hopeful even in this stranger.

"Do you think you could maybe take me on a little road trip? It's kinda far-ish, but it'd be really... egh, this feels so weird to ask..."

"Oh no...what's wrong?" frowned Charlotte, worried.

Malachai gasped. "The thingy! He breathed it!"

"Oh gosh, the inhaler!" said Charlotte, searching her pockets. "I've got to have one around here..."

Malachai gulped. petting Kiran's shoulder. "It's okay...it's in your front pocket."

"Sure. How far?" he smiled.

Kiran produced his inhaler, taking a long pull from it and seeming to hold his breath for an eternity before exhaling. He shook his head, unfastening the clasp of the chain and opening the pocket watch, bowing his head between his knees and trying to catch a much needed breath. He choked a sob and took another pull.

Inside the watch was a small picture. A pale woman with long dark hair, moon face and almond eyes sat perfectly still with one palm open towards the viewer. A sweet smile on her tiny mouth, a wealth of wisdom available behind those brilliant eyes- her long nailed hand requesting nothing and asking everything.

Malachai "ooh"ed, looking at the picture, chancing to place a fingertip over the picture's open palm. "She's beautiful..."

Charlotte looked down. "...I'm so sorry."  

[Astra_Senpai]

Senpai didn't understand. Not in the slightest. The woman was lovely and very obviously dead but how could he allow himself to wallow like this? Senpai did not understand and offered no condolences. Senpai's brows furrowed. This man was insulting the memory of the woman. Senpai's tone was cold, "It would break her heart to see you in this state."

Kiran's body tensed, his head rose slowly. His eyes were wide- shocked- he would begin to rise to his feet. Not to storm off- this was not the posture of someone about to walk away.

Malachai looked up to Senpai, frowning. "That was uncalled for."

Charlotte sighed, getting up and putting a hand on Kiran's shoulder, stopping the man. "Senpai, I realize that you're trying to help, but don't you think he's been hurt enough already by this?"  

[Gareus Fletcher]

"Uhm... Don't quote me on this but, I think it's something like... a day and a half's ride away from here without stopping. I looked it up on my iTouch."

He brought it out, showing him directions.

"See? It marks hotels we could stay at, but I'm kinda broke, so I think I'd need a straight up ride all the way there unless you pay for our room... I don't think my dad would like that. Oh! We can stay at my grampa's!"

Gren blinked. "Or...we use my teleporter."  

[Astra_Senpai]

Kiran froze at Charlotte's touch, a sickly yellow light at his fingertips. His breathing was quick and wheezy, tears slowing to a stop. He was willing to stop- but only this time.

Senpai's expression softened only slightly, tone remaining the same, "I do not feel it is uncalled for, Friend. I do believe he has suffered enough- but look at him. He is wallowing like a pig would in the mud."
