Tamriel shook her head, Bure was making it worse! " No, no, no- part-time..? What? No, no, no." To the rest she nodded, " I'm trying to change. Dressing more modestly, trying to be social and to understand things better." She looked at Malachai for a long moment and was deeply grateful for Bure's explanation because she had been torn between quiet acceptance and bursting into tears. She bowed her head and excused herself for a moment, returning with an orange, blushing deeply again. It just wasn't proper to talk about these things so openly- but here they were. Oh she certainly had a lot of growing up to do. (( lol I'm a little behind ))

Tamriel worked on her orange, feeling almost like a child amongst the adults. She did bob her head at Malachai's words, why did people have to complicate things with words and double meanings? She was sadly guilty of this, she wrinkled her nose- oh this orange was bitter. "It's just politics," she said very softly, before sinking her teeth back into the orange.

"Yeah...but at least when us demons lie, we're know everyone's doing it. There's leaving stuff out on purpose, smudging the truth, but at least we make sure of what we're talking about, instead of calling one thing a whole different thing. That's just stupid." he said.

He pouted sarcastically, clearly not at all perturbed by the bringing up of age.
"Fine, gramps... But yeah. Point taken."
Bure smiled at Tamriel, placing a hand round a shoulder.
"Then no. You've not changed, you've improved. How's that for wording?"

She smiled at Bure, "Much better- thank you."
She addressed them both, biting her lip, But... is it okay to take everything at face value?" Setting down the drained orange making sure to keep it hidden beneath the paper towel, "I worry if it's okay to really trust." She confessed, fidgeting with her rings nervously, "I know virtually nothing of any of you, beyond what you've shared and I feel relieved to not have the preset knowledge... but I also feel nervous. It's hard to be confident when I don't know anything."

Malachai hummed, leaning over the counter, getting a good foot away from Tam's face, dead serious. "You may take me at my word, because I have no reason to lie." he said clearly, definite.

Tamriel's eyes grew big, she pressed her lips together and laced her fingers against her chest. You really don't realize how scary someone is until they get a little closer than you're comfortable with. Tamriel hadn't been prepared for him to do that and the tears that rolled down her face were the proof of it. She bowed her head and whispered, "O-okay."

Bure felt the motion had been a bit extreme, but shrugged.
"I honestly don't know why there'd ever be a reason to lie to you... Though the times when I do lie, it's because I'm scared."
He rubbed the back of his head, making a face.
"It's rare, but... it happens. And it's never very happy. Can I be blamed if I'm ever scared?"

She blushed, unable to stop crying, her makeup remaining flawless, "I'm s-sorry. G-give me a moment. You c-caught me off guard."
She wiped her eyes and took a few breaths, calming down only enough to shake her head, it'd take her a moment or two to stop the tears, "I can't blame anyone fore being scared about talking about themselves- I know how it feels."

Tamriel squeaked a moment, looking up and smiling, simply letting them run down her face, "It's okay, Malachai. I admire your ability to be so direct." She stuck the tip of her tongue out to make a silly face, "I'm okay- really! This happens sometimes when I get surprised or startled."

He peered up sadly. "You sure? You're still crying...and I wasn't even trying to be scary." He wondered vaguely why Bure was so relaxed, as usually people got mad when their sweethearts were crying, but maybe it's all okay?
