Kageko finally responded. "You guys wouldn't believe it was true because it was true. What I mean is that the only way for the scroll to change was if the events of the past were changed. If the events of the past were changed, then you would have no idea that the other alternative happened."
Kageko saw Cerberus walk in and waved him over. There was no need for him to sit all by himself in the corner with nothing to do but read a book.  

[MacPere]

"Well, the news is..." MacPere poured his Blue Hawaiian into a cocktail glass and strolled to Gren, taking him by the hip and turning both of their bodies to face everyone. "Grencia and I are engaged to be married!"

Waiting a while to gauge the saxophonist's reaction, he laughed and nuzzled his cheek, saying "I kid, I kid~" Loud enough for all to gauge.

"No... I just got an offer on my company. Much higher than I'd thought..."

"What do you mean? Like time travel? " Zefi had managed to totally confuse herself and probably Kageko but she needed to know so badly She fell into a train of thought and seemed to have dazed off.

Standing, Joseph walked over and greeted Kageko. Sounding very tired, he asked, "How have you been, Kageko? Any news on Mr. Knightsoul."  

[Gren_Eckener]

Bright red at the initial jest, Gren sputtered "G-g-ghhhrrreat! A really good offer...so you are selling it?" He tried calming down, quickly. His heart was racing.  

[HeadlessKoko]

Kageko looked up at Cerberus and answered, "Last I checked, Knight was safe and sound. We managed to get him out, but his enemy is still at large. We can expect more trouble from her I believe. As for me, I'm fine!" Kageko finished with a smile. She shot back, "What about you? Anything interesting?"
She looked over to a very confused Zefi. "I should let it sink in," Kageko thought to herself.  

[MacPere]

"Well, perhaps. 80 billion is a very, very tempting offer. However, when I initially announced my thoughts to the board, my assistant practically attacked me. Ha... 16 years of exceptional service under me seems to have made her quite attached~"

MacPere took a quiet sip of his drink, smirking at the state of Gren. Oh, he was just adorable~  

[Gren_Eckener]

"80 billion...that's amazing! Is that more than the company's net worth, or does that include investments and projected growth?"

Gren was a bit proud. he'd looked into a bit more of this business stuff, so that maybe he could have a conversation and know what he was talking about. But on more familiar territory, he said "That's some assistant..."

Really, what Zefi had said about time travel wasn't far off, actually that was the basic idea of one way to change the scrolls. Albeit, it wasn't time "travel" because there was no traveling. It WAS pretty complicated just thinking about it by itself, but it turned much simpler when put in with the bigger picture.  

[MacPere]

"That is including investments and-- Hey... Have you been studying~?" MacPere smiled and rubbed Gren's hip affectionately, touched by the gesture.

"And yes, she really is remarkable in every aspect, truly loyal as well. Anyone else would have left me to my own devices by now, ha~"  

[Gren_Eckener]

"I have. I'd like to know a little more about what it is you've been up to. I mean, if you stuck with it this long, it must be interesting somehow."

He smiled down at MacPere, enjoying the hip rub. He decided that a backrub was a fair trade, and began petting MacPere's back. "I'd like to meet her sometime. Maybe she can give me a few pointers..."

Kageko looked at Zefi to see that she was starting to wake up from her daze. "Got your head around it by now?" she asked. "It really must be a really tough concept to deal with," Kageko guessed in her head. She had been taught this stuff ever since she could remember, which was from when she was five years old, so she was kind of used to this information already, but this was Zefi's first time hearing it.

"It doesn't make sense for it to be time travel. How else does the past change?" Zefi looked up at Kageko again working hard not to laugh at MacPere's first announcement. That would be a beautiful wedding if they ever did that. In fact she had the perfect place. She shook her mind back to the topic on hand. Changing the scrolls.  

[MacPere]

MacPere hummed, resting his head against Gren's shoulder. " Interesting, sure. And I shall procure her to advise you if you wish, aha~

He drained his drink and clicked his tongue, thoroughly enjoying the taste. "... You know, you never did tell me the reason behind your unique, and extremely enjoyable, feature. Care to enlighten my curious mind, dear?"

He spoke with such a casual tone, he hoped that Grencia may be that little bit encouraged by it. After all, they had trust, right?

Kageko stretched, "Well, yeah, there's no way you can travel 'through' time but that doesn't mean you can't go to another time," she paused to let it sink in, feeling slightly sad for Zefi for having herself as the teacher, "What do you think it is that constitutes different worlds?" She decided to stop there and then added in, "If you want, we can just leave it at that for today and talk about something else for now. We can just pick it up again another day." Kageko was okay with continuing the explanation, but she wasn't too sure about Zefi. Kageko had been taught to see the universe in this way ever since she was young, she couldn't imagine seeing it in another way. However, this was something totally new to Zefi. While she might have experienced it before, that didn't guarantee that she had understood it.
