[RP] The Inn of Peace - IoP (Open to all)

Kiran had taken pause at the woman's question. How long had he been here? He barely knew any longer- the peaceful had simply sunk his need to track time into near nothing of a compulsion. This place, these people had done wonders for his nerves... though clearly he still had farther to go. His thumb passed over his pocketwatch, a small habit, "I h-h-have f-found n-n-oth-thing b-b-but k-k-kindness and und-derst-stand-ding h-here. M-my ag-g-gent w-w-was c-c-cor-r-r-rect t-t-t-to s-send m-me h-here t-t-to c-c-alm m-my n-ner-r-rves. I'm af-f-fraid I've t-t-tak-ken a b-b-bit of an hiat-t-t-tus f-from m-my w-work." There was a small sadness to his tone on the final bit of that. His ears drooped a small amount but he gave a world weary smile, his brilliant blue eyes giving a tiny gleam of momentary pride, "R-r-r-rec-cent-tly I've b-b-been g-g-gath-thering n-n-not-tes and c-c-c-comp-p-piling th-them... ev-ven w-wr-writ-t-ten a f-few p-p-p-pag-ges."

"It's too bad, really," Max frowned. "I know it doesn't take a lotta knowledge to lure a soul away, but still...it'd help ta know how the world works, right?"

"Like your magic screens? And the box of cold?" Hemlock asked, mind starting to turn back toward ice cream as his stomach rumbled.

"Computers and freezers, yeah...and cell phones and elevators!" Max nodded. "Some of the basic stuff people use every day ta get by!"

"The thing is, our world in Hell works a lot differently than the human world. It's like not knowing how a camera works doesn't mean you can't use one, you know?" said Malachai, scratching his head. "It's nothing we really need to know, culturally...but, I don't mind reaping the benefits. Wanna join us for ice cream?"  

[Azana Brown]

"Like I'd ever turn ya down on that?" Max smiled, scooping up the imp. "Ice cream time!"

"Yayayayayayayay!" Hemlock cheered, hopping out of her arms to fly around happily, not straying too far since he didn't know his way around.

There's folks in there~"h announced, pointing. "This waaaay!" called Mal, leading the way down the stairs. The vampire was in the kitchen, as well as Kiran. "Vampire lady and Kiran in the kitchen!"

"Who's Kiran?" Hemlock asked, peeking over Malachai's shoulder to the pair. "Hi, nice lady who let me in!" He waved, beelining for the Drinkamajig (and ice cream maker!)

"Hi," Max waved to Kiran, trying to be a bit calmer as she remembered his condition. The other lady got a completely different reaction. "Whoa! Been a while, Angie! I gotta ice cream date right now, but we should catch up sometime." She smiled and followed the two demons.

"Lessee...huh, when did you guys make a soulfruit flavor?"  

[Angeles Valentine]

Angeles smiled, "well then I'm glad this place has given you some peace," she took another drink of the tea. She was about to comment on his work but was interrupted by the horned man with the imp and Max. Her back muscles tensed at the last one but the young woman greeted her kindly enough. She smiled and gave a small wave but had to wonder: Angie? That was new, and especially not what she expected upon her return.

When the group made their way to the drink machine, Angeles stepped back and away to allow more room for them and watched with some intrigue.

"Back in July." he said calmly, punching in two orders, one adult and one fun-sized. "Who's the lady?"  

[Azana Brown]

"Nifty!" Max smiled, glancing back to Angeles and Kiran before addressing the two. "Her name's Angeles Valentine...vampire chick and come-and-go regular. Everybody's got their own opinion of 'er, dependin' on what they've been through. Me, well...she's part of the reason Remy an' I got together."

Hemlock stared at the output spout intently, his tiny bowl waiting for the delicious treat. "So, she's a matchmaker?"

"Not quite...she gave me medicine to make sure I wouldn't be tasty to my new boyfriend. Kind of a big deal. She hunts down the bad vamps...which means a lotta trouble follows her. Some people don't like her for what she's put 'em through." Max shrugged, plugging in her order for the queue.

"All in all, though, she ain't a bad lady, I don't think."

Hemlock snatched the fun-sized ice cream out as soon as it was finished, grabbing a spoon just as quickly. "Okay, but how can medicine not make you tasty?" He ate some of his ice cream, happy as could be.

"Vampires hate garlic, and I've got a steady supply runnin' through my bloodstream. Helps keep my circulation healthy, and keeps me from gettin' bit."

"...ohhh...this is Angeles..?" said Malachai as the ice cream churned out, glancing at the vampire with a slow look up and down before smirking, snickering, and turning back to his ice cream, handing Hemmy the smaller bowl. "I see."  

[Angeles Valentine]

Angeles listened silently to Max describe who she was to the horned man and she smiled fondly after a while. Max still liked her, it made her feel a bit warm, and she looked into her cup.

When the man turned to look at her, scrutinize her, the vampire blinked, a bit surprised that he seemed to at least already know about her, but more surprised that he snickered.

Max smiled at her ice cream concoction...pina colada today. She took a small spoonful, smiling at Angele's smile. From all she knew...that was a rare sight. It was always nice to see her break out of that whole "grumpy and brooding" thing.

"She let me in!" Hemlock added, mouth full of soulfruit ice cream. "I thought I'd have to sneak in a window!"

"Naw, lil` buddy. I`d letcha in!" he grinned, tucking into his ice cream. "You can find my window easy; just don't come in if I`m busy."  

[Azana Brown]

"Really?! Okay, but how do I know you're--oh..." Hemlock gave a nervous chuckle, taking another bite to stifle his slight embarrassment. While Malachai probably wouldn't mind, the partner would.

"Anyone told you you're adorable lately?" Max giggled. "C'mon...we don't hafta stay in the kitchen to eat!"

"Oooh, yes! Let`s do that!" cheered the demon, strolling out with a smirk into the main room.
