Guild News

~Due to random circumstances, Rainbows+Unicorns has given me (kel aka gandy) ownership of the guild. She is still a mod and will still be around randomly as far as I can tell. There shouldn't be too many changes in the guild now, I have a few things I want to do though. Any changes will be updated here as always though, so you all know what's going on!
~Switched the Music and Crew subforums, since it seemed a little weird to have a sub-forum that's locked to most users in the middle of ones they can get to.
~Renamed the Manga-ka Sub-Forum to Creator, to include writers from SB fiction line.
~Changed the Guild image. This is just an interim one, I plan to have a guild-wide contest in the near future for a new one.
~Created a cosplay subforum.
~Created a how-to subforum.
~Tweaked the guild name to "The First Gaian Shojo Beat Guild" since we're not really official. :]


Also,
~Updated the Manga-ka/Creator's subforum rules/thread list to include all (I think) creators so far, be they writers/artists/whatever, they're all there now with links to the ones that have threads.

~There will be a Viz Media panel at the New York Comic Con on Sunday February 8th. It's not strictly a SB panel, but it's likely they'll talk some about the magazine/the line.

~Wild Ones has completed it's run in Japan, so I've updated its thread here in the guild to reflect that.
~Shojo Beat / Other Viz Shojo Releases thread in the manga subforum updated with February releases. All threads that effected were updated:
-B.O.D.Y.-, Baby & Me, Boys Over Flowers, Kaze Hikaru, Magic Touch, Otomen, Tail of the Moon.

~The Viz Panel took place earlier today at the New York Comic Con, SB news included:
-Hana Yori Dango: Jewelry Box will be published this October,
-The Gentlemen's Alliance† artbook will be released this November,
-Kyosuke Motomi's 2 volume Beast Master will begin in November,
-Yuki Yoshihara's Butterflies, Flowers will begin in December,
-Fumi Yoshinaga's All My Darling Daughters will begin in January 2010,
-Yuki Midorikawa's Natsume's Book of Friends will also begin in January 2010,
-Novala Takemoto's two-volume debut novel Missin' will be published under Shojo Beat Fiction on August 18th,
-Viz still says the NANA and honey and clover anime will be out sometime this year in box sets.

Most of these series have not been specifically said to be SB series, but I've placed them here and made threads for them based on the fact that they run in Shojo/Josei magazines in Japan or have previously been part of some Viz shojo publication.

~According to ICv2, All My Darling Daughters will be part of the Viz Signature line, and not Shojo Beat, so the thread has been locked and moved to Cold Storage.
~Also according to ICv2, the Gentlemen's Alliance† artbook will not be available until December, I'm not sure about this one, so I've left it as November in all threads, until I see another online source (like amazon.com, simonandshuster.com, etc.).

~In the April 2009 issue of the mag, Nancy Thistlethwaite claims there will be a new Josei manga run under the SB imprint coming this December, but that she can't name it yet, so I don't think it's one of the ones that has been announced yet.
