"It sounds like you've done a lot more traveling than most, even if you don't remember much," Alex's mother replied, "My husband and I would love to visit Europe, except we hardly have the time or the money for such a trip." Alex's parents ordered after Sofia, and when it was Alex's turn, he started with the Raspberry Lemonade for his drink, and the five cheese marinara dipping sauce to go with the breadsticks, along with a bowl of the Pasta e Fagioli soup. For the entre, he ordered the Ravioli di Portobello.

The group arrived at the theater with plenty of time to find their seats, which happened to be in the middle towards the front. While they were in the lobby, Alex's parents happened to see another couple that they knew and stopped to chat for a few moments. As Alex was waiting, he felt a light tap on the arm. He turned to look and saw Penelope, who greeted him by saying, "Good evening, Alexander. I can't say that I expected to find you here." Alex shrugged and replied, "That just goes to show that there's more about me than meets the eye." "Good evening, Sofia," Penelope said to Sofia in a tone that was both an acknowledgement and a dismissal at the same time. Penelope might not have been surprised to find Sofia at the theater, but she probably was surprised by the way that Sofia was dressed. Even so, Penelope wasn't prone to gossip, and so it was very unlikely that she would tell anyone at school about meeting Alex and Sofia that night. Alex's parents rejoined them just then, and Alex performed the introductions by saying, "Mom and Dad, this is Penelope. She goes to our school and is the president of the honor society, and captain of the debate team and the chess team. Penelope, these are my parents." "It's a pleasure to meet you, Penelope," Alex's mother predictably said, which prompted Penelope to reply, "Likewise." "Are you here with your parents?" Alex inquired. "No, I am here with my boyfriend," Penelope said in return, and after pausing to glance around, apparently in search of said boyfriend, she added, "He went to make a pit stop, as he put it. I'm sure that he'll be right back." To tell the truth, Alex had no idea that Penelope had a boyfriend. Whoever this boyfriend might be, he obviously didn't go to the same school as Alex, Sofia, and Penelope, because if he did, everyone would know about him. Alex was guessing that the boyfriend was probably some preppy college guy.

When the young man arrived, Penelope performed the introductions by saying, "Drake, this is Alexander and Sofia King, and Alexander's parents. Everyone, this is my boyfriend Drake Millford." "Nice to meet all of you," Drake said in return. He seemed to be rather friendly to Sofia, but then again, it was likely that he was unaware of her usual style of dress and her reputation. Glancing at Alex's cast, Drake went on to say, "You must be the quarterback that Penelope has told me about. I hope that your injury isn't that serious." As could be expected, Alex put on a typical show of male pride by saying, "It looks much worse than it is, and my doctors are very optimistic that I will have a full recovery." Alex's attention was drawn to a lapel pin on Drake's suit jacket. It seemed to be the emblem for a college, but it was too small for Alex to make out. Apparently Drake was used to people asking about the lapel pin because he said, "I attend Miami University. The one in Ohio, not the one in Florida." "Oh, of course," Alex replied as if that was obvious.

It was a bit awkward for Alex to get to his seat, and there were a couple people who needed to shift in their seats in order for him to get past, but he was very apologetic about it, and they seemed to understand. Fortunately there was enough leg room for him, while his crutches could be placed out of the way on the floor. Alex still wasn't certain about whether or not he was going to like the show, but once it had started, he had been caught up in the story, and he found the music to be very impressive and breath-taking. Later on, when asked about which song he liked the best, he would reply that the song One Day More was his favorite. Alex was so moved by the show that when it ended, he managed to lift himself to his feet to join a standing ovation. When he got the chance, he said to Sofia, "That was incredible! Now I understand why you were so happy to come."
((OOC: FYI, I haven't seen the musical or the movie version, but at one time I owned the soundtrack of the Broadway production on CD, and more importantly, I have read the book. All of it. From cover to cover. That's a really long book, but I enjoyed it.))

As Alex's parents were leaving, his mother suggested to Sofia, "When we have the chance, we should get together and write up a list of our favorite Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals that we want to take the men to see." After his parents had left, Alex went to sit on the couch. Ordinarily he would be watching TV, but everything that was on at the moment seemed a bit trite and shallow after watching the musical, and Monday Night Football had already ended. After a while, he heard the faint sound of singing coming from the bathroom. Obviously Sofia was singing in the shower. Alex went and stood outside of the bathroom so that he could listen for a while. Even though he would be able to hear better if he went inside, he knew that would only embarrass her for a couple of different reasons. Eventually he went back to the couch to wait for his turn in the shower.
((OOC: Did they already pick up Bo from Debra's house, or do they still need to do that?))

"Yes, I could use a little assistance tonight," Alex replied as he got up to go collect some clean clothing, and he paused to add, "While you are waiting, you could tell me a little about those musicals by Andrew Lloyd Webber. I've heard the name before, but I really don't know anything about him or his musicals." That suggestion would serve two purposes. First, it would satisfy his curiosity about those musicals, and second, it would also give Sofia something to do while he showered. Most likely she found just sitting there to be rather dull.
