He eyed Opal from the side, holding his teacup quietly; the conversation seemed more between the two of them, and he was fine with keeping quiet. But his reaction to the threat was similar to Opal's, willing to help but knowing there was only so much that could happen. It wasn't called the Inn of Peace for nothing, after all... Anyone who came in would probably be disabled by the gentle Innkeeper's welcome.

Opal guessed spells, however it was best to not assume. She nodded slightly. Looking about... she walked out of the path from the door to the stairs and sat on the floor. Opal was polite about furniture, however it seemed unfair to not be... closer to eye level. "You should come see the wolf pup. I feel he is becoming bored with my training. I am not much for games and he has long to go." She nodded slightly to Gareus, "The mapmaker provided him with a good chase once I believe."

Her chuckle rumbled like thunder at his touch. His attempt of consoling or flirtation? She was far too old for anything like that. "I was trained to take the brunt of a charge. I have felled giants twice my size, have halted a swath of charging demons and crushed flocks of angels and never once has someone said something like that to me. It is amusing. Legs like tree trunks. It's certainly not a selling point."
