[RP] The Inn of Peace - IoP (Open to all)

[Azana Brown]

Tyler's jovial spirit faded at the news. "Revenant? Marilyn?!" He remembered her clearly, the object of Red Stella's ire, the reason he never, ever wanted to be a firefighter. "What's she gotten herself into this time?"

"Ah, she was havin' some killer nightmares. Guy snatched 'er right outta the Inn room while he led us on a wild goose chase. But they oughta be killin' 'im an' bringin' 'her back any time now!" Max added, trying to calm him. What...he didn't expect anything to happen over a few months?

"Uh huh! Azana sent me to track; I just got back from Kasdeya's." smiled Malachai.

"Well, that explains the next step...but Ty, I wouldn't suggest letting Az see you when she gets in." said Remy, suddenly in the doorway, strolling in. "Charles unlocked a particularly bad memory about you. Dunno the details, but she's not gonna be in the mood. How ya doin'? Hi, babe!"

"Remy!!" Max hopped up, eliciting a cough from Ty as she rushed to meet him. "You guys did it, huh?! Rock on! But...next step? Y'all mean Kaz got 'er?"

"Wh--Charles?" Tyler blinked, perplexed. Was that the revenant? That sorry son of a b***h always found a way to pop up, didn't he...? But unlocking Az...he said nothing in reply to that. "I'm a bit disoriented and confused...but otherwise alright."

Malachai nodded, letting Tyler up with a final light rub of his horns. "Kaz has her. I think the charade will finally have to end on this one."

Remy nodded, hugging Max and kissing her forehead. "Everyone's okay, but there's some emotional damage with Az and Stella...they're all coming over in Terry's car."

Malachai looked to Tyler. "Was your trip fun?"

"Not necessarily," Tyler said, one finger pointed up to silence him. Sure, he was confused and disoriented, and he hated that, but that didn't mean he couldn't think, couldn't plan.

"Ooh," Max smiled. "I've never seen Terry's ride...but yeah! I'll bust out the booze for 'em! Ya gotta tell me about all the badassery!" She moved away, running over to the bar and digging through the bottles.

He wanted to ask questions but was derailed by Malachai. "My trip? It was very fun...mission fully accomplished, though getting back took a bit longer than expected. Tell me, did this revenant have any clear links to Kasdeya...?"

Malachai smiled, tapping the tip of his tanned nose. "I tracked him! And Kaz told me so!"

Remy rolled his eyes to Mal's chatty cheer, sitting at the bar. "Well, my dear, I have seen some creepy stuff tonight, not gonna lie. First thing: never get Orrin mad. Just, just don't."

"I meant something that couldn't be traced to you," Tyler answered him, rubbing a temple. There was just too much, it seemed, that he needed updating on.

"I didn't even know Orrin got mad," Max blinked, tilting her head. "What, did he pull an arsenal outta that coat...?"

Stella walked in, finding the bottle of white wine that Max had set out and uncorking it with astounding ease. It was clear she had been drinking them for a while. "Welcome back, Hunter. I assume the mission was successful...?"

Sosol was close behind, immediately slipping behind the bar as bottles hovered. He had the hunch that his loving wife needed something strong, if nothing else to dull the gruesome things she witnessed.

Azana, meanwhile, walked in and stopped, staring ahead at Tyler. The two of them said nothing for a moment, just staring each other down before she walked across the floor and hugged him tightly. "I'm sorry," she whispered before letting go, sitting at the bar.

"Ohhhh, honey, I'll tell you later." grinned Remy, looking to the returning warriors. "Safe drive?" he asked Terry.

Malachai blinked, smiling at the hug, as if to say 'See? We missed you!' "Hello, Azana!"

"Very!" Terry beamed in pride. "Just because I have a sweet ride doesn't mean I'm a reckless driver." He laughed, heading to the bar and finding an open bottle waiting for you. "Can now be later...? I'm dying to know what the hell I missed while looking for Marilyn."

"Ya looked for 'er...? Kaz has 'er...Mal said so," Max nodded, pointing a thumb to him. "Makes sense...didn't Chuck leave a business card for her cult?"

"And there's our in," Tyler smiled, nudging Malachai. "They already know Charles was with Kasdeya...it wouldn't be out of the question for them to put two and two together, if you know what I mean." He was still a little disconcerted by Azana's reaction, but if all the memory was there...it did make a little sense.

I wouldn't have asked that of her...it would've probably been better as it was. Oh, well, can't turn back now.

"I guess this is where we all tell stories and compare notes...?" Sosol shrugged, preparing drinks at breakneck speed.

"Among other things...can I just keep this bottle...?" Stella asked, tapping it.

"All right...well, y'see, Orrin, when he's mad, when someone has sufficiently managed to toast his proverbial waffles, apparently transforms into this black-skinned, red-haired, taloned nightmare beast. It's, he's...no. Game over. Worse than stabbing the Cuccos game over."

Malachai smiled, tail swaying with a nod. "Yeah, yeah! Marilyn's with the cult! She's not going to be killed, don't worry! But, um, I'm afraid that I had to scare her a little...so, uh, she thinks you knew she was there and just aren't coming, and is currently being tormented."

Terry whistled. "Man...always the quiet ones, huh?" He said, taking a swig. The thought of Orrin turning into something like that was far-fetched, but Remy saw it with his own eyes.

"Worse than Cuccos?!" Max blinked, remembering the first time she thought it funny to harass them. She never made that mistake twice. "Whoa...no wonder he doesn't get mad easy. Can't imagine 'im with MacP's fuse!"

Azana shooed away Baraquiel's condemnation. Stealth assignments always came with sacrifices. She sighed and gave a nod. "We know where she is; we'll have to retrieve her as soon as we're able."

"She's an oracle," Sosol reminded her, probably the only GMO agent who would stay dry tonight. "She can hold out. I have faith."

Tyler frowned at the thought of Marilyn's torment. A nun in a demoness' temple didn't bode well, but if Sol could believe that she'd withstand it, then a night's rest wouldn't work against them. Except that he wouldn't be sleeping, probably. That transporter was his pride and joy, his treasure. It needed fixed.

Stella ignored all the other discussions, thinking only of Charles. Why couldn't you just give it up...? Would that have been so bad...?

"Dude, you remember. You just say that...thing, right? Char kissed him." he frowned. "I'm not seeing where the taste is, but, y'know, I think it's an old soul thing."

At Max's comment, he snickered. "Oh, lordy, the joint would be a crater."

Malachai looked down. "She won't be killed...but she'll be very sad. That I can't prevent. But, um, I'm guessing you found the man?"

"Yep. Taken care of."

"Was that the...big, scary..?"

"Yeah."

"Wow..."

"Nirro..." Sosol said absently, remembering both the formality as well as the brutality. Orrin's other side, the justice in vengeance. To Remy, he just shrugged. "Maybe it's just a Charlotte thing. I mean, Felix is one of her best friends, and she used to date a djinn."

Tyler tried to envision this Nirro but gave up on it. He had enough on his mind. His inadvertent time travel, Azana's greeting, whatever he could call his interesting relation with Zulma, coming back to find Marilyn in danger again.

Now I know how she feels when she vanishes for a while.

Azana took the drink from Sol, taking a long sip. "We'd tell you more, but it's still a bit fresh in our minds," she said, looking over to Stella, who seemed off in her own world. "Anyway, this is only a half-celebration. Once Marilyn's back in her convent, where she belongs, we can throw a party...we just have to make it quick."

"Why would we--oh..." Terry frowned, taking another swig. The H word...Halloween was coming.

"...Wait a minute...you know, I think she just likes white hair. Albee had it, Felix has it, Orrin has it...she seriously has a thing!" he laughed.

Malachai hummed, drifting over to Stella, and eased up for a hug. She seemed to need one.

Stella took the incubus up on the offer, almost forgetting how warm he was. "Thanks," she said quietly before letting go and picking up her glass. "It sounds like we still have a lot to do...I'm heading up." She gave another light hug, careful not to spill, and made a quick exit upstairs. She'd have to find an open room for the night.

"It'd make sense...everyone has a thing," Tyler nodded wearily, thinking of his own rarely-broken pattern of feisty blondes. He wanted to follow Stella upstairs, but there was just too much on his mind to let him sleep quite yet. He was certain he'd pass out on one of the couches at some point in the night.

Terry tilted his head to Malachai, not for the hug on his girlfriend (he wasn't that jealous) but for his reaction to the talk about Orrin. "...I'm no detective, but you don't seem very surprised about Orrin's other side. Did you sniff him out or something...?"

Azana finished her drink, standing up without another word and heading upstairs. She was physically fine, a bit drained mentally, and comfortably numb for the moment in terms of emotions. She'd have to take some time off this month before the big gig on Halloween...get all that sorted out.

Naturally, Sosol followed, both curious and concerned about her state of mind. Would she be in any shape to face down Kasdeya tomorrow...?
