[RP] The Inn of Peace - IoP (Open to all)

"Of course my mom made chili...don't they all?" smiled the Innkeeper, picking out a can of tomato paste.

"I used to? I drink blood now myself; it's not bad..."

Gren and Violet cooked into the night, and left the food to simmer, locking the lids and leaving them clearly labelled as "NOT FOR CHIBIS" to try and dissuade the beasts. It worked fairly well, and Gren only had to chase a few away with a broom from getting too close.

Kyou hovered on the rafters closest to the kitchen for the evening. The smells very alluring, but the threat of a broom was enough to keep manners in check. Kiran straightened his clothing a bit, going down for tea and sitting in a far corner with paper and pen and staring into space. Kyou gave Kiran a small wave. Kiran turned his head to look at Kyou, but said nothing. They both simply stared at one another. One curious and the other lost in space.

Malachai poked his head out of Felix's room with a scowl. Kiran? Innocent enough. Senpai-person? Not authority, always nice enough...okay. He stalked out of the room, tail twitching.  

[Astra_Senpai]

Kyou and Kiran broke eye contact at the same time. This battle a draw. While there was no anger between them, there certainly was something like annoyance... or perhaps poor humor betwixt them. Kiran gave a wearily warm smile, "G-g-g-ood m-morn-ning, M-Mal-lach-chai." Kyou waved, "Hello, Friend. Have you come to wait for the chili too?"

That caught him off guard. He blinked, confused. "Isn't the chilly already here?"  

[Astra_Senpai]

Kyou was confused now. Kiran shook his head, thumb and forefinger on the bridge of his nose, "K-Ky-you m-means the f-food in the k-k-kitch-chen." Kyou nodded, "The shy girl and Mr. Gren have declared there will be chili for tonights meal. I am excited for it has cheese and beans and meat... I am curious to see what it is- but Mr. Gren has forbidden tasting. He wields a broom very well."

Mal's tail lashed. Gren was not on his good side; he knew about the other demon and still treated him poorly. "I don't want any." he huffed. "What is chilly, anyway? Some kind of food slurry?"  

[Astra_Senpai]

Kiran's ear twitched, Malachai was in an interesting mood- the sound of it was... odd. Kiran explained, "Ch-chili is a sp-spicy st-stew of b-beef and r-r-red ch-chil-lies or w-with ch-chili p-p-powd-der, oft-ten w-with b-beans and t-t-tom-mat-toes. Th-though m-many p-p-peop-ple m-mak-ke it d-d-dif-ferr-rent-tl-ly. S-somet-times it c-can b-be sw-weet or w-with t-turk-key."

Kyou asked, "You do not want to try it? You are always so excited to try new things. Your tail is waving like an angry cat. Are you angry?"

"Yes." he nodded, firm in that. "I am very mad! I'm tired of being treated bad!"  

[Astra_Senpai]

Heart sped up, increased breath sounds, solid tone. Kiran's ears drooped. Seems there was still fire from the upset of last night. Kiran scratched out a few words on his paper and bowed his head. He felt guilty- was there come way he could help?

Kyou shifted, "You made your concerns known last evening with the weapon wielding demon. I am certain they will do something about it. The seemed to be guilty about it. I am certain Mr. Gren can fix it."  

[Gren_Eckener]

"He's one of the people who did it!" protested Malachai. "Why would he help? They're doing it for Violet, I get it, but it's still not fair!"  

[Astra_Senpai]

Kyou nodded, "I agree it is not fair to you, however Mr. Gren in a reasonable man. I am certain he will happily help you gain equality, Friend Malachai. I have found no qualms with you or your nature. You are a good friend"
Kiran nodded, "A v-ver-ry k-kind one at th-that. F-f-forg-g-giv-ve m-me b-but y-you are the o-only d-d-dem-mon I h-hav-ve seen...?"
Kyou explained, "A demon came last night and was explained to be someone named Zulma's father. Malachai grew very cross as the other demon was simply allowed to walk in without a stir being made."
Kiran's ears drooped a bit more, "Th-that c-cert-tainly d-d-oes n-not seem f-fair at all. D-does h-he h-hav-ve a s-seal?"

Malachai sighed, frowning. "No, no he doesn't. He's free as can be while I'm watched constantly. It's, it's just too mean. I mean, Tam gets to be free, that guy gets to be free, why not me?"  

[Astra_Senpai]

Kyou nearly fell off of the rafters, eyes went wide, "That horrible pushy woman is a demon too?" Kyou knew there was something wrong with that woman! But- she was nothing like Malachai. "Why did you not say anything sooner?"

Kiran sat up a bit, he was thinking on it, a little confused- certainly there were factors missing that Malachai hadn't explained. Honestly he hadn't a clue that the woman had been a demon, how would anyone else have? "Y-yes. W-why n-not y-you? It s-sounds l-lik-ke y-you h-hav-ve a v-very sol-lid c-case."

"What does it matter? She has her own problems. She didn't need more here." he frowned, tail flicking. "Seeing her as miserable as me doesn't make me feel better."
