[RP] The Inn of Peace - IoP (Open to all)

[Astra_Senpai]

Tamriel seethed, tail making a near audiable FWOOFH as the fur flared, ears flat against her skull, right on a burn. She worked a squeak of sound as she took a small step away, bowing slightly, tears welling down her face, "I'm sorry..."

"I lef'," she told him gently. Answering a new text, "She's wit' 'er Da."

"Qu-quit-te f-fin-ne. I c-can t-tell," he answered looking back to the papers and testing what Violet had shown him. His tea was cold and untouched, long forgotten.

Kyou's eyes grew wide, standing and leaning over the man, "What is this little box? How it is doing that? What is it doing? It looks like a small noise box!"  

[Azana Brown]

"...what did they do to you...?" Azana asked, hand recoiling at the reaction. Tamriel seemed entirely different than before, more than just cosmetically. This wasn't Sosol's description...speaking of which-- "Do you need a healer...?"

"It's a computer," Tyler answered her. "Think of it as a big, really complex gameboy. No, there aren't pocket monsters in here. I'm working on fixing the programs on my device, and it's easier using the connection to this."

Violet snuck a sip of the cold tea, watching Kiran as he tried to shade.

It took her a long moment, setting the glass down, she wiped her eyes on her baggy sleeves, wincing as she tried her best to calm down. Unculing her tail and recurling it around her hips, She shook her head, "I... renounced my elders. The suitor they chose.. was not pleased as the arrangement was voided. Demon fire has to heal on it's own if at all." She bowed her head, shaking a bit- that had hurt. She held no pride in her tone, she felt much smaller these days.

Kyou's closed eye opened, wincing and it closed again. "This is where the internet is from yes? Mr. Remy and Miss Max have spoken of it. How do you fix a program? How do you know it needs assistance? Do you mean on the item you were just working on? What do you mean by connection?"

Kiran shaded with his pinkie, if one took the time to notice- his index on this hand a missing digit on the glove itself. The shading was messy and ended up mottled. He glanced up, smiled weakly, the reflection of his glasses gone a moment revealing dark circles beneath blue eyes. "Th-this is m-much h-hard-d-der th-than y-you m-mad-de it seem. Perh-haps I sh-should t-t-tak-ke l-l-lessons as w-well."  

[Azana Brown]

"Renouncing family's never fun," Azana nodded in understanding. "I don't have as much experience with demon fire, though. We've had a lot of injuries around here, almost none of which we couldn't heal. Are you sure a unicorn horn wouldn't work? I'd offer holy power to counteract it, but it'd probably do more harm..."

"This is a conduit through which you can access the Internet, yes," Tyler answered her. "Programs are just very long, very precise directions given to your machine. You see, while they appear smart, they will only do exactly what you tell them to, and if there's a flaw in your directions, they don't do what you want them do. So, if it isn't working properly, it's best to check the directions you gave it. So far as connection--" He held up a cable quite clearly linking the two machines.

"Information is transferred through the cord between the devices."

"The Gambino School for the Arts is a good place...I wouldn't go for a full program, though. I only want to draw, and they have me painting, sculpting...I'm surprised I haven't been pushed into photography yet."

Ah- a little roundabout. She smiled weakly, arms hanging at her sides, she'd give almost anything to cross her arms without pain, "I am not infernal but I am a demon. Holy magic and essence of such a creature would cause me a deal more harm."

"How does it know what you want? How do you give the directions?"

"A w-well r-r-r-round-ded ed-d-duc-cat-tion is v-v-valuab-ble. W-with the oth-ther op-p-port-tunit-ties y-you m-may f-find a n-new w-way t-t-to l-l-look at th-things. A n-new ang-gle... such as the d-d-d-dif-f-fer-rence bet-t-tw-tween a t-t-two d and th-three d r-r-rend-der-ring," he said gently. Looking at the tea and seeming surprised. When had she gotten tea?

"Hey, whoa, wait." interjected Remy. "Unicorn's horn works on vampires, and we're hurt by holy stuff. I bet it'd work on demons okay."  

[Astra_Senpai]

She looked to Remy, ears down- she admitted she didn't know much about the properties of it but... she wasn't part of the damned. Then again she didn't know much about vampires. "I would not be completely adverse to trying but you must understand I am wary."  

[Gren_Eckener]

"No prob. Mal!"

"Yeah?"

"Unicorn horns work on demons?"

"Yeah! Pretty sure!"

"Willing to test that?"

"Okay!"

Remy gestured to Mal with a smile to Tam. "See?"

She bit her lip- why were they so willing to do this? They weren't asking anything for it or issuing requirements. They just... wanted to? She didn't understand it at all. It confused her and tears welled in her eyes from it. She didn't understand at all. Nothing was the same at all.

Honey chirped, "Ya me'n unico'ns a re'l 'oo?"

Mal pouted at her tears. "Aw, c'mon, Tam...you know we like doing things for people. Remember when I let you pincurl my hair?"

Remy snorted. "That was hilarious...and yes, there are unicorns. At some point, it's better just to assume everything exists and roll with it."  

[Astra_Senpai]

Honey flopped back on the couch and went back to texting, a wild grin back on her face. Lovely was going to flip.

She sniffed softly, her voice a little high, overwhelmed, tears welling down her face, "I know.. I just- I don't know what to do. I don't- I just- I- It's too much. Too much at once. I'm sorry. Please. I'm very tired... I'm sorry." Ears down, she shook her head and stepped past Azana, "I'm sorry... please excuse me." And up the stairs she went to her room, closing the door and curling up on her bed.

Kiran took off his glasses to clean the lenses, ears twitching, "P-p-poor th-thing. S-such anx-xit-t-ty."

Azana stepped aside for Tamriel, looking after her with a mildly confused expression. "First person I've seen freaking out over people being nice..."

Violet took another sip of the cold tea, finding Kiran's puzzled reaction funny. He must be a bit absent-minded, she thought, looking to Azana with a small frown.

"When everything you know is mean, it can be jarring. Kindness, I mean...you get paranoid that they're just leading you on..."

"We type them in," Tyler answered Kyou, turning the computer slightly so she could see the screen. "It's like giving the machine a to-do list. It reads through this and does what it says to the letter. And before you ask, it looks funny because this is the language the machine understands."

Kyou blinked, stating flatly, "I cannot read. I only know the letter which looks like a koi mouth. Oolong has three so I can use the drink marvel." Looking at the new language with interest, Kyou's head tilted slightly to the side, "Did it take long to learn this language? Or is it another of your make?"

He put his glasses back on and returned to trying to shade. He added, "Y-you c-c-an h-hear cr-ry-ying fr-rom h-her r-room of-ft-ten. I b-bel-liev-ve she is l-lonel-ly... b-b-but th-that is on-nl-ly m-my op-pin-ion."

"If she's lonely...she just needs to come down here more," Violet said, glancing down and realizing her sleeves were still rolled up from dishes. She began rolling them back down as she talked. "But if she's sad...she needs someone to go to her."

"As much as I'd love to, I've been busy enough as of late," Azana answered her, shrugging. "There's plenty of people here...she'll find someone, I'm sure."

"Well, then I'd guess it'd all look strange to you," Tyler tilted his head, typing as he continued. "It took a year or so to get a good grasp on it, like with any language. The more you use it, the better you get until it's just second nature." He had never really considered writing his own programming language. The perks would be nice...but having no one else capable of using his tech was also dangerous. Hacking into TEKKER showed him that.

Malachai hummed, tail swaying. "D'you think I should go after her, then? She knows me; I'm nothin' but cuddles."
