[RP] The Inn of Peace - IoP (Open to all)

"Tam, Tam, Tam. If someone asks to do it here, it's because they want to." he said softly, wrapping her in a gentle hug. "I, of all people, wouldn't do something I didn't want to. You know that."  

[Azana Brown]

"King? Oh, King...so, you saw his past, which is--" He stopped, looking around to everyone else as his voice dropped to a whisper. "Our potential future...why are you showing us now, though...?"

Tyler pinched the bridge of his nose. Television. Of course. "The television shows you images from far away. In fact, that's what the word means, at its heart. The caution from sitting too close is so you don't hurt your eyes. The black rectangle is called a remote control, and it lets you choose what images you see, as well as how loud you want it to be. The 'ash' you see is called static, and that's what pops up when there's no image. As far as the people not talking back...they can't see or hear you. If they talk out to you, it's because they know people will be watching."

Violet smiled, walking out with the large pot before vanishing again to produce the five cups. "Tea, everyone."

Remy glanced back to Sosol, face rare in its sternness. "I've been drawing this since then...just a lot more recently. It's...soon, ish." he said, barely above a breath. "Violet's been drawing it too, and she doesn't even know."  

[Astra_Senpai]

Kiran was up and over in an instant. Wondering who King was and why they chose to whisper. There was plenty of noise. Ah tea, he flushed in delight.

Honey was trapped under a couch, shirt caught on a spring.

She leaned into the hug and buried her face against his shoulder, "I... I just don't know how to treat.. how to take all this free kindness. It's overwhelming."

Kyou was baffled, "I admit my head did ache after a while. Why would they ask questions if no one can answer? That seems odd. Ah I know..." Kyou was up in the rafters in an instant, gathering a few things and coming back down. On a table next to the one in use, Kyou laid out several things which could have only come from the inside of various machinery. "I found these around the outside of the inn and in town when I ventured there. What do these items do?" Kyou asked chewing on a copper wire from the pile.

"What if you did little things for them in return?" he hummed, petting her back.  

[Astra_Senpai]

"The last time I gave gifts it made everyone uneasy."  

[Azana Brown]

Violet happily poured the five mugs, handing one to Kiran. "Don't let it go cold this time, okay...?"

Sosol's eyes widened, partially in surprise at the declaration it was soon...and partly in total disbelief. He glanced over to Violet momentarily, disguising it by bringing a mug over to himself. "You're sure...?"

Tyler gave an impressed nod. "You're scavenging parts," he said, looking them over. "By themselves, they don't do terribly much. It's when you put them together that they can become something--don't chew on that. It's used to conduct electricity."

Remy? Stern? Azana walked over, mug in hand keeping her from folding her arms. "No rest for the wicked, is there? What's up?"

"Well, now they know who you are, so isn't that better?"

Remy sighed, nodding, looking up to Azana. "Something we'll have to really deal with after H-day..." he said, showing a picture. "Keep it on the DL, okay?"  

[Astra_Senpai]

Honey squirmed. Nope. Stuck. She contented herself by wiggling her legs.

Kiran blinked, tufts bristling a bit, "Th-this t-t-tim-me? D-d-did I h-hav-ve t-t-tea b-bef-fore?"

She nodded, "I suppose it is," she sighed, wiping her eyes. "I'm so tired of crying but these tears don't seem to stop. I don't know if it's because I'm free... or because I'll miss them."

Kyou considered a moment, "But I have swallowed the little copper disks, this I can keep track of much better. Electricity? What is that?"  

[Azana Brown]

Azana froze, gazing upon it. "...until after H-day," she said at last, taking a long, almost tongue-searing swig of the tea.

"We'll have to talk to Violet, though," Sosol frowned, "if nothing else to get a sketchbook to compare."

"You really did forget," she giggled, patting him on the shoulder. "It's okay."

"Really weak lightning," Tyler rephrased himself. "Metals conduct it well...and copper is particularly good, as well as easy to make into flexible wire. I'd probably not swallow any more of these; you might not die or anything, but they're really not good for your body." He was a bit puzzled. Illiterate was understandable, a lack of technical knowledge, too...but the common sense not to eat metal was missing. She almost seemed an idiot savant, knowing nothing except the ways of mushi.

"After then. Late in the year. We have time to prepare, and it's almost entirely taken care of already." he reassured. "I've kept up to date with Abby."

Malachai cooed, nuzzling her good cheek. "Birds only fly if they have a place to land...but can't you land here?"  

[Astra_Senpai]

Kiran's ears drooped a bit, "I m-m-must b-be m-mor-re t-t-tir-red th-than I th-thought. H-how sil-l-ly t-t-to f-forg-get." His gaze fell to the conspiritors, did they know he could hear them? H-day? What an interesting mystery. He sipped his tea and quailed, no choice but swallow, "H-h-h-hot!"

Kyou's head bowed slightly as if a child scolded. The taste of the copper kept that want to theft the little plastics of blood from the fridge at bay. There wasn't a way to explain it. "I understand about not eating them. They are a different metal than the few coins I have from my home. What is the purpose of electricity? Why would you need lightning?"

Her ears stood up, leaning back and looking at him in almost awe. The sheen of her eyes glimmering moonlight, "I never thought... of it like that. Would is really be okay for me to stay so long?"

"T'is is bo'ing," she told the couch.

"That's fair, and a relief, too," Azana broke into a grin. She had to, after everything. There hadn't been a chance to fully process her run-in with her past or with Nirro, let alone visions of a dire future. She drowned it all in a sip of tea, signalling Sosol to head to the bar.

"We're counting on you, Remy..." He said, taking the hint and getting back to some semblance of work.

"I told you it's okay," Violet grinned, sitting down after she was sure everyone was served.

"It powers a lot of what we use," Tyler smiled, pointing to an outlet. "Modern science has learned to channel electricity, er, lightning toward making our machines run. Before you even think about it, don't stick anything in there, or you'll be in for a shock." He paused, thinking for a moment and letting out a sigh.

"As far as the wire...I suppose you can chew on it, if you desperately enjoy the taste, but don't swallow."

Remy smiled stiffly, getting back to his work. "I'm on it....Honey, if you're bored, you want to try watercolors?"

Malachai nodded, smiling. "Sure! I've been here for months, and some others years! Anyone can stay, Tam, for as long as they want. As long as you're not a jerk, I mean."  

[Astra_Senpai]

Honey squirmed, going forward and then back- a ripping sound and she was free of the couch! And her shirt was now several inches shorter. She stood up and looked down at her exposed freckled core and cheered, "YEA' wa'erco'ors!"

Shaking salt and pepper head, Kyou offered a small smile, "I will find something else to chew on I am certain. The copper is a pleasant taste but if it is not good for me I am sure I can find an alternative. Thank you, Friend. I did not know. There is much I do not know. I feel out of sorts often, but it is better than being alone. Then all the lights are run by ele..tricity not magic. I am... curious I admit- but I have seen what lightning does to trees and unlucky birds. Good eating if you are curious. However I will be wary. Do you like cheese?" Kyou's attention was caught, confessing softly to the new friend, "I never know what that pink creature is saying."

Kiran was content to stand with hit really hot tea, he'd left his sketch of Violet on the table for review. For a quick glance he certainly hadn't missed a detail. Kiran choked on his tea, a honking laugh escaping as he set his cup on the counter and used his kerchief to wipe his face.

Tamriel yipped in delight, covering her mouth and blushing.
