Remy grinned, nodding. "There's a sport." He rummaged in his art bag, producing a set of old-school Crayola and watercolor paper. "Get a cuppa water."

Mal beamed. "See now, that's not so bad, right? And we're making food for us soul eaters, so that's not gonna be a problem for long...you can make a whole new happy life!"

"She does speak in a pretty heavy accent," Tyler offered, giving it a moment's thought before continuing. "She's excited about the paint Remy just pulled out." The question about cheese was rather odd, and considering Kyou's dietary habits, a little loaded. "It depends on the cheese, but usually I do."

Violet looked down at the picture, her reaction bittersweet. Yes, he was improving with the shading, but he had gotten her in a moment with some of her scars exposed. There they were, staring her in the face through graphite. She sipped her tea, offering a nod to Kiran.

Sosol watched his wife sit down with the tea, leaning forward to her. "How are you doing...?"

"It's rough," Azana answered, "and still a little confusing. I mean, a good portion of my world changed. I don't know how much you saw, if anything, but I...I just don't know what to do with it. I can't put the genie back in the bottle, so to speak."

"Take your time with it," he answered, stealing a quick kiss to the forehead, "maybe get out for a day to think it over, sort it out. You have some time...but at the same time, we'll be needed before long."

"H-day, I know," Azana nodded. "I'll be ready."

She turned, marching to the kitchen, falcon tattoo making its debut, humming a Vivaldi piece.

Tamriel smiled softly, "It would be nice to have things work out for the better once. It's hard to get my hopes up for it all to truly be so good. But if I'm going to believe anyone I should you."

Kiran went back to the table and sat, "Wh-what d-d-do y-you th-think?"

Kyou smiled, "I am finding many things I like here. It is nice to have plentiful food and good company about. And so many willing to answer my questions. Though you seem to enjoy it and not be overwhelmed or annoyed. I am fascinated by this modern age and its wonders. There are many things to understand and they're all very complicated. There are many questions I have- it's as if I am behind and much catch up."

Violet forced a grin. "You're improving already," she answered him, looking away. I just wish you did another subject...

"And that's why I don't mind," Tyler said, adjusting his glasses. "Sure, a long session of questions can get grating, but the fact is you're asking them. You want to learn about it all. It's those who are stupid and choose to remain that way that I can't stand."

Azana leaned over the bar to give Sosol a kiss before grabbing her jacket and heading for the door. She was momentarily inclined to take her broom and clear her head through some flying...but she hadn't been on a solid walk in a while. She left it, shutting the door behind her with no real destination in mind.

Sosol watched her leave before getting back to his own tea. Overall, it seemed like a very calm day.

His ear tilted towards her, the golden chain waving slightly. "D-did y-you kn-know wh-when a p-p-person f-feels up-pset or w-w-wor-ried th-their h-hear-rtb-b-beat incr-creases? I am a w-w-wond-der-rf-ful l-l-list-sten-ner if y-you n-need som-meone t-t-to t-t-talk t-to." He sipped his tea and smiled gently, "I adm-mit I l-left y-your l-l-lace a l-l-ligh-ght-ter l-line as I w-was unc-cert-tain if it w-was ap-p-pr-prop-priat-t-te. I ad-dm-mit I h-have som-me of m-my own l-lace, I h-hold l-l-lit-t-tle p-pr-prid-de in it. F-f-fog-g-iv-ve m-me- I sh-should h-hav-ve ask-ked."

Green eye looking down at the orche colored bandages, Kyou sighed gently, these needed to be changed once again, "I do not know how long the mushi will remain dormant so I must ask what I can and learn what I must before I must comply to its whims once again. This world is full of far too many wonders and life is far to uncertain to not ask while one can. ." Kyou's closed eye open, it shimmered a pale gold holding almost an imperious gaze before closing again. Kyou looked up at him, "You are an interesting sage, Friend."

"...!" Violet glanced to him in surprise, though it faded quickly. The ears. Of course. She rubbed at an arm, speaking in quiet, low tones. "Th-there's no pride here...just pain, and shame...I want-- I wish they'd all go away..."

"Sage...there's a title I haven't heard in a long time," he chuckled, a little disconcerted by the gold eye but letting it go. Kyou didn't seem the sort to want people worrying over her. "Knowledge is never a bad thing, contrary to popular belief. You just have to be willing to accept the consequences of knowing what you do."

"F-f-for-g-giv-ve m-me, M-Miss," he lowered his voice in respect. "The l-l-lace y-you w-wear m-may b-be b-blac-ck or wh-whit-te b-but it is h-how y-you w-wear it wh-which m-mak-kes the d-d-dif-f-f-fer-ernce." Kiran rolled up one of his sleeves, showing her evidence of perhaps putting his arm in a grater, "Th-there is pr-prid-d-de t-t-to b-be h-held in s-s-urv-v-v-vi-ving anyth-thing wh-which gr-grant-ts y-you l-lace."

"I watched a soothsayer once. She was a very odd woman- she wandered my paths from the forest and left baited traps. She soon became the talk of a town I frequented. Their fields were consistently unattended- I ate very well for months. She would predict the weather to a degree and the people began to depend on her. Very slowly her predictions became more grand, encompassing larger things beyond a normal humans scope. Her predictions soon became violent and so did the people around her. In a fit she told everyone in the town their leader would be torn apart by a wild beast. The people not knowing what to do believed killing her would halt the prophecy. I warned her- showed up in the dark and warned her but she chose to throw hot coal instead. Kyou looked at the bandaged hand, "When accused- she tried to pass it to me. The blame on the monster in the fields. I would draw the beast. Luck was in my feet that day, I returned at night to see her burning on a post. People whispering about books they had found and all of her work being false. Meddling and witchcraft, a rabid boar tied up in her shed. I did not understand much of it- only that she was dead and the house abandoned. To think if she had taken the time to use her knowledge for good, rather than attention."

Violet blinked, flinching at the thought of what possibly could have caused those. Pride in surviving...that didn't seem so far-fetched, really. But who among her peers would understand that...? Last time someone saw them, they had threatened to report her to the campus counselor.

"...at least you understand..." She said at last, gingerly scooping up her teacup again.

"Heh, I almost wound up barbecued myself once," Tyler said, tone bittersweet. "Guess the difference there is I know when to take good advice."

He offered a nod, rolling the sleeve back down. "As l-l-long as y-you sp-peak t-t-to oth-thers wh-when y-you f-feel d-d-dow-wn and c-cont-t-tinue unt-til y-you f-feel b-b-bet-t-ter, th-there sh-shoul-ld b-be n-noth-thing t-t-to w-wor-ry on." He set his flower shaped cufflink and hummed softly, "It is a l-l-long j-journ-ney wh-which t-t-tak-kes t-tim-me t-to r-real-liz-ze y-you are n-n-nev-ver al-lone." He sipped his tea and returned to shading.

"I would think setting oneself of fire would be very... scary. I cannot say I have fond memories of fire at any point in time. It is why I learned a spell to create darkness. I had Peru for fire but he is no longer living flesh but living stone." Kyou nodded towards the fireplace where Peru crackled merrily. The stone bird who burned neither hot or cold all day and night.

"...never alone," Violet echoed, grinning softly at her bracelet. "...I think...I at least get that..."

"Terrifying, actually," Tyler blinked, shaking his head at a short flashback of Red Stella's inferno. He looked to the stone bird, somewhat puzzled by it. A stone in a fire was normal, and firebirds were relatively normal to him...this, however, was new. "Living stone...you mean like a gargoyle?" It seemed it was his turn for questions.

Remy busied himself with preparing the watercolor paints with an idle hum. Many conversations, not his place to drop eaves.

Malachai purred, nuzzling Tam's good cheek. "There's a smile. There's the hope I was looking for. Isn't that a pretty feeling?"
PostPosted: Wed Oct 17, 2012 5:42 pm
"I found Peru as an egg in the forest. The only egg of many which was unhatched. I opened the egg to eat the contents and was rewarded with him instead. I do not know what he is to be. I had believed a phoenix or an augrey. I have lucked upon several creatures as such. But he roosted in the hearth a month after our arrival and has not moved since. I worry he is dead but the flames are his own. You can touch the stone with untainted hand and it is warm. The other is warded off with fire. If you watch closely when you speak to him, the fire will move as if responding ."

She sighed, she'd never be pretty again. Her tail wrapped around them both, the scent of roses heavy in the air, her tone was sorrow heavy, "I'm afraid to enjoy. Hope is something I have learned to distrust."

Honey returned with a HUGE bowl and a tiny amount of water. Sure enough the reason why was there, she tripped over her own feet and ended up flat on her face. She wormed on forward on the floor, successfully saving the water. She lay there a moment, face on the floor, "My ri's."

He nodded, "G-good. I am h-hap-p-py. I-it t-t-took m-me y-years t-t-to f-fig-gur-re it out." He'd strayed from his shading, sketching several new and quick lineworks as she spoke. Each one held her subtle gestures as if photographed.

"Hope is the only thing that makes Hell what it is...I have never not believed in it." he murmured, warmly cheek to cheek with the huldra, wings warm in their spread.

"You okay?"
PostPosted: Wed Oct 17, 2012 6:22 pm
"Fascinating," Tyler answered, now intently staring at the stone bird in the middle. "I haven't heard of anything like that before...then again, I know much more about technology than I do about anything even remotely magical. That's been a lot of my education lately...in a crash course sort of way."

"It's hard not to learn here..." She dismissed the compliment, trying not to look as he drew. "Even...even when I felt most alone...there was someone. I just...didn't really realize it at the time..."

Sosol chuckled, wondering if he needed to fill the bowl for her...

A gentle sigh, she buried her face against the crook of his neck. She missed Bleghabie, but she had to worry so much on him. Malachai was someone she could bawl her eyes out to and not feel as through she'd ruined everything. She couldn't ask Malachai advice on something like that. She loved how warm he was, her own kind was always so cold. "Thank you for being so kind to me."

Honey rolled and stood up, sure enough her ribs were a little red from the crash. She laughed, "Yea' I'm fi'e. Jus' my ba' lu'k no' pul'in the pun'h ag'in." She set the bowl down on the table and rubbed the spot, it wasn't bleeding just a small bit raw. She wrinkled her nose as her phone began to sing about 'love me do', "Par'on me, Re'y." As always she answered, "'Ello, Lo'ely. Wha's on ya 'eart?"

"I believe a crash course is just as good as taking your time. I would not know the poisons or eating habits of many mushi if not for it. It's a great delight for the most part. I would not know my own talents if not for it. However I have been wary or using them as Mr. Degas has reactions to magic. While some are comical, they are very harmful to him. I can show you my talent if you do not mind showing me more marvels ?"

He smiled, stifling a long needed yawn, "T-t-tr-trust is h-hard t-to g-g-iv-ve fr-from w-w-with-thin the g-g-glass c-case. I n-nev-ver l-l-lik-ked th-that th-ther-rap-pist b-b-but I f-found h-him c-cor-rect aft-ter t-tim-me. It-it's h-hard t-to l-l-look th-though the g-glass and see wh-what is r-r-right in f-fr-front. Ah- th-this l-line... sh-should I t-try f-for a m-med-di-dium sh-shad-de or a d-d-dark?"
