[RP] The Inn of Peace - IoP (Open to all)

Marilyn gave Kiran a nod of acknowledgment as she left the kitchen. Malachai's wave was met with a scowl of contempt as she slunk to a table with a plate full of food. Her fare was simple, afraid of being unable to keep it down after a few days of hunger. She ate slowly at first, but picked up the pace as it became clear her body yearned for sustenance.

"Ah, that's called X," he nodded before his jaw dropped as she described where she recognized it. She had been eating poison? "The boxes you describe are poisons meant to exterminate pests...it'd probably be a good idea not to taste them again. As for this, I'm basically telling the device to send me where I tell it, using coordinates on a map. JIM can, to some degree, understand tone and volume, but flat and basic commands are the most effective. I actually use this same language with JIM, except I was able to have it respond to audible commands. I could technically do that to this one, but I prefer the manual method for my own reasons."

Another breath break, and he would answer the last one. "Calibration means that I want to make sure everything lines up properly, that it will reliably do as I ask without errors or big changes. The last thing I need is to arrive a mile off my target and underwater."

Malachai pouted to the scowl and left felix's back with a hug, scuttling over to Sosol. "Sosol, Sosol, hey, hey, um, I think she's mad at me because I had to be mean to her at Kaz's and I want to tell her it's okay but I think she's busy eating anyway. What do I do?" he asked quietly.

Sosol looked from him, over to Marilyn, and back. "...I'll go over with you, explain everything. She might listen more to me right now, if she isn't upset with me as well."

Marilyn slowed down after a bit, realizing she was taking it a bit too fast. It was hard to help it...she was incredibly hungry, afraid to eat anything while with Kasdeya. Who knew what that hellwench had put in it?

"Not all animals are pests- most of the pictures on the box taste very good when roasted. How wasteful. You mean your reasons are to keep it secret, yes? That would make sense as you've built these all on your own. I admire that- it must be great fun, even with the occasional... finding off ill use. Can you not swim?"

Kiran ended up washing his face with cold water. He shivered, it was just enough. Using the drinkamajig he had it prepare some lemon tea. He stood in the kitchen, listening this way and that. He could hear the others in the main room, could hear the small breaths of the chibi in the kitchen- could hear the heartbeats upstairs. He sipped his tea, he would be too weary to do anything but sleep soon. Sleep, he shook his head, sighing softly, telling his tea, "I-It's s-so h-har-rd t-t-to sl-leep wit-thout y-you, Elen-nor."

Malachai looked hopeful at that prospect. "Why would she be mad at you? I can't imagine anyone being mad you; you're really nice!"

"That may be, but not everyone thinks of that. They just don't want them in their space," Tyler answered with a shrug. "So, they bait them with poison and let the problem solve itself. I've always enjoyed inventing, and yes, I can swim. It would be difficult to do so, appearing without held breath underwater. Not to mention the device would be rendered inoperable. It doesn't take well to lots of water."

"I didn't say mad...I said upset," Sosol answered Malachai. "We oracles used to be very close...she may be disappointed and saddened that it wasn't I who came to her rescue. She may believe I don't care, that I've sided with Kristen against her. Even if it isn't at all true. I hope to explain that, as well."

I can hear you, Marilyn thought flatly, taking a long sip of water. I'm not deaf, even if I'm tired and weak. You left me there...why didn't you go after me?

Because I went after the one who did that to you, he answered mentally. I helped eliminate Charles. He's gone, for good this time. The reason we knew where to go is the same demon you hold in scorn.

"Ohhhh." he nodded, understanding as best he could, tilting his head as the man seemed to fall silent. 'Wha..?'  

[Astra_Senpai]

"I suppose that makes sense. Rat fleas are very annoying and some bugs are simply malicious. But poison... no wonder it tasted odd. It is very different than the poison villagers used to leave out for me or wild animals. The one for wolves was the worst but they always threw out such good meat. The hard part was when there were snares or broken glass." Kyou paused, adjusting in the chair and crossing long arms. " I've been thrown in a river once while bound. I was very lucky to have gone down the falls or I would have drown. I am not a strong swimmer, but I can paddle like a dog for some time," Kyou was very proud of this, sitting up a little taller. " All all marvels easily drowned?"

Honey came back, looking at the banister. Why the Hell not. She sidesaddled the banister and slid halfway down before getting caught and being suspended half way. She hung there- RIIIP and tumbled to the floor and to her feet. A proper acrobat was she! She pointed at the banister and shouted at it, "E'Tu, Banis'er?!"

Remy looked back, worried. "You okay there, Honey?"

Honey turned in a circle and laughed, sure enough there was a hole in the seat of her pants showing off some red and black checked boxers, "It bi' me! Loo'! Sur' 'nough my 'ni'kers a fo' the worl' ta see!"

"They look nice, at least!" he grinned, hoping to cheer her up. "Wanna borrow a fresh pair of jeans? Seems like you're having a rough day."

Honey smiled pure sunshine, whilst upstairs she'd cleaned up a bit... at least washed her face clean of the tears. "I du'no, Lo'e. I t'ink ya' pan'aloo's wou'd be too bi'," she winked. "I jus' ne'd ne'dle an t'read ta sa'e my on'y pa'r a pan's. O I ca' jus' run aroun' in my 'ni'kers."

"I don't think anyone'd get upset at the running around in knickers thing. God knows we've had people wearing less roaming about." he laughed.

And off the pants came revealing more freckles than any tiny human should be graced with. Honey grinned, folded the pants and set them on the floor. "I's a goo' t'ing t'is is box'r day," she chirped, "Tha' of'er ta' pain' s'ill up?"

"Oh yeah! Grab some paper and a brush; there's plenty." replied the vampire, gesturing. "I think I'm painting a mango?"
