[RP] The Inn of Peace - IoP (Open to all)

Violet huffed, abandoning her watercolors as she snatched a spare sheet of paper. Pencil already in hand, she sketched furiously, determined to show Honey her beauty.

"Hallucinations are very disorienting, but other things disorient without hallucination," Tyler chimed in, listening to the rest of her explanation. Stella had been carrying one around? Was she even aware of it? Probably not, considering Kyou was the only person they knew who could see them. "Not exactly the best form of experimentation, no. I'm guessing it was hallucinogenic, then?"

Marilyn slid one checker forward, waiting to see Malachai's first move. A beginner...but still, there was always that possibility of dumb luck.

He smiled to himself, moving an entirely unrelated checker. Amateur style.

Remy shook his head. "I think there's more to you than that."  

[Astra_Senpai]

"Oh my yes. Most hunters posses a hallucinogen in their venom the kind Miss Stella had also seemed to effect the part of me which controls fear. A very pretty decoy. I will be expecting another or a similar one with her at another time. A normal hunter paralyzes and creates hallucinations to allow for easy feeding. It is amusing how this place seems to draw them. It is one of the larger reasons I have no moved on. The chance for observation is substantial and plentiful. The collection in my room is growing, but the ones proving benign I have been slowly releasing."

She shrugged, sitting up, she listed off, "T'esbian, les'ian, mot'er, sin'er, dab'ler, smo'er, con'ortionis', gui'ar pla'er, daugh'er, frien'."

Violet's sketch shifted on the description, the body lines suddenly at strange but still feasible angles. Honey was flexible...she would use that. The body had begun to take shape, though no freckles had been added yet.

Marilyn moved again, a little bolder but still feeling him out.

"They're not going to attack Stella, are they?" He asked, leaning slightly forward in interest. Having invisible assailants would be far from good news. "But at least you're finding this place rich for research...personally, I get a lot of odd jobs around here."

"I didn't hear anything unattractive in there."

Humming, Mal shifted another piece, leaving his own open to be jumped.

Honey stretched, twisting arms up and behind, "Hrm, tou'h crow'- bu' it's goo' ya see the goo' in ot'ers."

"No I do not believe so. Hunters seek out other mushi to feed on, not humans or demons. They are attracted to them but as I said before very few are in need of a host. To most humans, mushi are but a cool breath on their shoulder or a misplaced hair. Those who do fall victim to them either benefit or perish without someone to aid them. I am only an observer, not a master. I have never met one like myself. Friend Malachai has offered his tracking to help me hunt them if I need it, I am curious if your marvels could see them."

Kiran snapped out of his daze, his tea cold. He sighed and got another one, going out into the main room and back to where he'd been drawing. Wearily he sat down and began to sift through the writing.

Violet quickly sketched some basic clothing (shorts and a tank top) before adding details like the face. With that in place, she liberally began with the freckles, looking more like stars on a sky than blemishes.

Once done, she held it out to Honey, speechless and expectant.

"Well, that's a relief, I guess," Tyler grinned before hearing the request. "I'm not sure...I mean, I did build that scanner for materia, and those were of alien origin. I'd need to be able to study a mushi..."

Marilyn jumped Malachai, removing the piece. "One down, eleven to go."

Remy smiled as Violet held out a splendid sketch.

Malachai frowned, jumping hers in retaliation. "There."

Kyou perked, the penny clicking off of white teeth, the canines on the right a bit longer than those on the left, "What is a scanner? What is materia? I would not mind allowing you to study what I have found or my own. Understanding them is important. I do have a youngling of my own but it is not fairing well. I believe it is dying without a host and is becoming harder to feed."

Honey gawped, baby blues glimmering with delighted mischief. Who was that supposed to be? Her? There was no way that was what she looked like. She squeaked a giggle, a chorus of canaries. That- that was way too.. way too... way too- she shook her head and smiled brightly. She couldn't touch the paper, her blush deepened from ear to ear, "Ya a won'erful ar'ist."

Marilyn looked over the field, sliding up a piece to try and set up a double-jump.

Violet smiled. "You're a wonderful subject," she retorted, "and a performer, too."

Tyler produced a green orb from his pocket. "This is a materia...they were a gift from some strange visitors, and they grant access to certain magical capabilities. Unfortunately, they all look very similar while doing different things. So I developed a scanner that would allow someone to discern which it was without having to try it out to see. Perhaps, if I were able to analyze mushi, I could create some way of seeing them." It would by no means be easy, but it had been a while since he created something new.

Malachai moved another piece. It was fairly clear he had no strategy.

Charlotte bopped down the stairs, trilling.

Kyou was mildly interested in the orb, looking it over and playing with the word. It was... it was lovely. The word and the orb. The other eye snapped open, the golden lens focusing on it. A lustful glimmer forming on the darknened side of the shared face. Interest falling back to- emerald eye went wide. Shifting back in the chair Kyou began to look around them, tiny mushi began to plume, shape and flutter from out of no where. They flittered and glimmered about- twirling and sweeping their way towards... towards what? Kyou's deep green eye followed one as it settled above the item. The materia drew them... it drew the mushi. A soft breath of wonder passed thin lips, "Is this materia of man make?"

Honey shook her head, "Ya' fla'ter me, Lo'e bu' t'ere's mu'h bet'er ou' t'ere t'an a spaz li'e me."

Kiran's ear caught her before he turned, he waved to Charlotte. The sound of romance certainly suited her.

"Not any men around here," Tyler answered her, noticing her gaze drifting around. Mushi, if he had to guess. Then again, a piece of alien magic was an item of interest to people. Why not them, too? "These are of another world...I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't experienced it for myself."

"Someone sounds delighted," Azana commented, pulled out of her discussion of H-day momentarily by Charlotte's arrival.

Marilyn shifted another piece, wondering if she could get to the other side in a couple more moves.

"Maybe, but I choose to draw you," Violet insisted again, smiling. Why was it so hard to take a compliment...? Then again, she was one to talk...

"Who wouldn't be? I've got nothing but smiles for today~" sang Charlotte, twirling in her landing. "Everyone's happy, there's sunshine and buttercups, and I am in love, darlings!"

Mal slid a piece over, taking part of the double jump. "Ha!"  

[Astra_Senpai]

"Another world," Kyou cooed, a soft undertone of cicada creaking on the breath. "They must be very in tune with the essence of nature. It draws life to it." The golden eye gleamed, looking at Tyler- calculating, fingers of the bandaged arm flexing as if in preparing. Kyou smiled, green eye closing in delight, "What a wonderful thing. My stomach is a flutter with the life if pulls. None of these are harmful, all I have seen before. It is a shame you cannot see them. What does this materia do?"

"Ya' 'ave a grea' talen' 'oo. 'Our lin's ar' so cle'n," she chirped, beaming and deflecting.

Kiran looked at the table. Seems someone had left their tea here. He looked about... too bad. It had gone cold.
