[RP] The Inn of Peace - IoP (Open to all)

Tyler strolled past toward the kitchen, walking in the room and leaning against the counter, devilish smirk creeping up on him despite his fatigue.

"Well, look at this. A short stack making a short stack," he quipped. "Got some spare I can use when you're done?"

She grinned, setting her baby blues on him- he looked like he could use a nap or a coffee. Honey plopped a second completed pancake on top of the first and nodded towards it, "'Ave a' it, Tec'. I ne'd the pac'ice."

Tyler blinked, narrowly avoiding a slight twitch at the nickname. The only times he heard that were from Azana to Taylor...though it was fitting, he supposed. He looked to the half-baked pancake on her head and gave a nod of understanding. "I can see that...want any coffee? I'll put a pot on..."

She nodded, "Su'e go a'ead." Honey threw a small pip of butter onto the pan and poured some batter, tapping her foot to a steady beat and fingers moving to key notes on the spatula. "I'm 'Oney. I en't me' 'ou ye' bu' 'ou wer' wit' the lep'r yeah."

"Pleased to meet you, Honey," Tyler responded, already working on setting up coffee. "She's not quite a leper...it's hard to explain. Either way, my name's Tyler."

Marilyn let out a light yawn, arriving in the main room with a small suitcase. She was feeling much better...it was probably time to get back, even if she was reluctant to leave.

He was handsome, Lovely would love the shape of his face. Honey's rhythmic tapping stopped. She? What? That was a woman? Pfffft. He must need that coffee more than Honey'd thought before. She laughed, flipping the pancake with success, "'Ou don' se'm new. 'Ou mus' be one a the nor's. Wha's it li'e li'ing 'ere, T'ler? Is it alwa's a bu'z wit' exci'emen' an dang'r?"

Yawning, Kyou peered down from the rafters. It had been a long itchy evening. "Are you leaving, Miss?"

Chris and Nate strolled into the Inn, for once not being chased by anything violent. In fact, the usually rambunctious duo was uncharacteristically quiet. Chris was reading a small booklet of some kind while Nate fiddled with some sort of gizmo. The pair gave a slight nod to any and all who might be present before taking a seat at their usual table.

Nate squawked something as he fiddled. Chris replied "You're right, buddy. It is confusing. This manual isn't helping, either. I think it's written in Gallifreyan, or it might as well be."

"Well, I'm certainly not complaining," Tyler answered, starting the coffeemaker and turning to her. "Excitement and danger certainly abound...but there's fun, and romance, and--" He froze, eyes narrowed as if he was listening for something.

"...old friends..."

Marilyn started slightly, dropping her suitcase at Kyou's arrival. "Um--I was thinking...yes..." She looked to the two newcomers, tilting her head slightly. Who were they...?

Chris and Nate paused as the scent of coffee began to drift through the air. Nate squawked in glee.

"You're right, Nate. It is coffee. Not just any coffee, either. Tyler coffee!"

The pair swung around to face the coffeemaker and their old friend. Dropping manual and gizmo, they charged toward the man with delight. "TYLER!!!"

Gren watched them arrive with a grin, propping a hand on his hip before taking a breath, seeing them get distracted, and letting the pair meet with Tyler first. Science bros, after all.

Kyou shifted slightly in the rafters, "I have not had the chance to speak with you. I am curious on what you are... your robes remind me of the temples from my home. Must you leave so soon? Have you told Mr. Sosol?"

Honey wrinkled her nose, more techies? Well this was fun! She flipped the pancake with a hum and went back to singing to herself. She'd burned this one a little bit. The pink hair minstral was content, however, in doing her own thing.

Tyler spun to face them, stance momentarily defensive. Yes, he recognized the voices clearly...however, they (particularly Nate) could be overzealous at times. "Chris! Nate! It's been a while!" He answered, breaking into a smile. For a while, he had almost given up on their returning to the Inn...then again, he himself had mysteriously vanished for three months or so.

They knew Tyler...she took a moment, concentrating before grinning softly. Friends. Very good ones. It faded quickly enough, and her hand clasped around the handle of the luggage. I wish...I could be here without needing to be saved from my sins...

The being in the rafters spoke again, and she turned her gaze upward. "I suppose you could say I work in a temple," she answered, almost flinching at the mention of Sosol. "I...no, I haven't told him. I can stay for a little, if you wish to speak to me."

The duo embraced their old friend in a hug, happy to see him and happier to be home. "Yeah, it has been a while, but Nate received an inheritance from some long-lost relative and decided to kick about abroad for a while. Somebody had to look after the big lug otherwise he would've started an international incident. How have things been here? Did I miss anything crazy? How are Az and Sol and the gang?"

Tyler hugged them both, by now more than comfortable with the notion. As he let go, though, the questions began. "Ho, boy...I'll grab you both a mug," he said in reply. "I've got a few things to talk to you about..." As it percolated, he figured it would be good to save time and start some explaining.

"Where the hell do I start with all this? We've got a lot of new faces, including an incubus and apparently a giantess who stays outside. I haven't met her. Sol's doing alright, Az is probably as good as she can be just after Halloween and--well, that takes too long for the ClifNotes. I've been working on a few interesting projects. Overall, a lot of the same, but nothing horribly catastrophic."

His free hand had his phone, a quick text now sending. He had a feeling someone else would want to say hello.

Someone else came down instead. She was weary and scratched up, but at the very least clean and dressed. It had been a long few days with Remy, fighting a seemingly losing battle against dark elves. In the end, the Von Helsons pulled back, but not before she found a few juicy bits of information. Stella now had them...research would be key for the next steps.

"Hi, Gren, Ty...what the?!" That certainly woke her up, the bright feathers and a familiar face not seen in a long time. "Where in the hell have you two been?!"

Gren shrugged, smiling. "They just arrived."
