"These skulls," Azana started, having not heard of them before. "They're strong, I'm betting, but talking about 'muscle in our corner' sounds like they aren't a sure thing. A leg up, but not a guarantee against this." She looked over the picture another time...it was interesting, when she could see exactly what was at stake. What would happen if she were to fail.
Tyler gave it a bit of thought, though he was momentarily derailed by Adam's remark. Hypothesis confirmed... he thought grimly before getting back to the manner at hand.
"Question. If you've been keeping an eye on this guy...why haven't we nipped this in the bud? Can't we just get rid of him now and spare us the awakening?"
"If Remy's right, he doesn't even know what's going on," Sosol protested. "You're suggesting we either banish, seal, or murder an innocent person."
"Without all the crystal skulls, and the assistance of the other Horsemen, perhaps there is no way we can," Kristen chimed in, remote in hand. "We had help against Lady War, and they did not seem particularly threatened. If they are working this hard, if they are this concerned, then I can only guess that this Fifth is even more devastating."

"Well, now you've got more than one hope," Azana answered him with a nod. "You've got us, as well as them and their skull plan. If he's supposed to be one of them, they know him better than us. That won't stop me from getting my two cents in, though."
Sosol frowned...she was good at masking it, but Az wasn't nearly as confident as she stated. After all, they had no experience preventing apocalypse. Stopping the occasional megalomaniac demon, sure, but this? This was an entirely different level.
Tyler caught on, as well...but then again, it took one to know one. He was working through plans and theories based on way too little information, but it kept him from thinking too much on the event itself. "So, calming Chaos, huh...? Do you think your boyfriend would know some people, Charlotte?"
"Hm? Oh..." Kristen looked down at it. "It belongs to King. He gave it to me before he was sent back into his future. I have no idea what it does, but I held onto it in case it gave me anything useful..."

Charlotte made a face. "Those guys? Really? I don't want to talk to the Order; they'll just grill me and lord it over as if they've got anything to be proud of." she pouted. "Orrin's the only nice one; even he thinks the rest are stuffy. Bluh!"
"Charlotte, dear, this isn't time to be fussy." said Eli with a frown. "If they can help, they need to be asked. It's important to them too."
"Papa 'Pere, you don't understand. This, this would be worse than calling up an ex to ask for something embarrassing back, and finding out you're on speakerphone. Nope. Orrin can ask them, but I absolutely cannot."
Gren sat back, sighing, thinking hard. "...Maybe...Sosol, can you pick up anything from that remote?"

"Then Orrin's going to have himself a little pow-wow," Tyler shrugged. "If nothing else, for his own job security. I'm not seeing any silken-haired traders in these pictures."
"I can try..." He answered. "I do warn you, though...it's been away from him for a long time. Any vestiges of information might be too diluted to pick up."
"...InfoLink." Azana said, blinking as she thought it up. "See if you can pair up your psychometry with your InfoLink..."
"We want information, not a jumbled mess," Sosol sighed, holding out his hand for the remote. "Even if we found something useful, it'd take a day or so to sort it out for sure."
"Maybe, but you pick up on a lot more with it...and I think we have more than a day before he's knocking at our door." Azana grinned, finally feeling clever and useful in this conversation.
"I am sorry...if nothing is revealed, I take responsibility. I should have given you this opportunity earlier." Kristen apologized, setting the remote in Sosol's waiting hands. "I wish you good luck, Brother."

"Of course there isn't." said the curlytop a little bitterly. "He couldn't live in a place like that, ruled by Chaos...he'd react like he had radiation poisoning. Hang on." she added, throwing her sweetheart a text, summoning him down. "We need him down here, if we're talking Order nonsense."
Adam looked worriedly to the Innkeepers, who were leaning on one another like lost puppies. He began looking through, for pictures of Enta. Found a picture of someone who seemed to be Enra. Someone who looked like Enta and Hana all at once. "Remy? Is...is this Enta?"
"...Sort of. He and Hana melded back together, made a guy named King."
"...Do I survive?"
The vampire tapped a page, a vicious-looking half-worm beast grinning in malicious hunger. "You get really touchy about people in your garden."
"...This is really scary, Remy."
"Yeah, it is, Adam...but we'll make it through."

Tyler shifted through the pictures, finding his own. "I see little changes in my life," he said with a bittersweet chuckle. Same frazzled look, surrounded by books and traps...the greys came back, but that didn't really surprise him.
Sosol took the item in hand, looking at the remote before getting another idea. "Tyler...think your mind can keep up...?" He said absently. It was a machine, for starters...and Tyler's mind moved faster than most. Perhaps he could process the link.
Tyler blinked, looking away from the picture to Sosol. "You want me to-- are you sure you want to be poking around with my head? It's not the most stable of places."
"But it's fast and can decipher techno-babble a lot better than Az," Sosol answered. "No offense, honey."
"None taken," Azana answered. The only edge she had on Ty was stamina. She could Link with Sol for longer periods of time...but perhaps it wouldn't need to be long. "I'll be right behind you, Ty...common side-effects are temporary loss of consciousness."
Orrin yawned lightly, hand covering his mouth as he held up his cell phone. "I almost forgot I even had one of these still active," he said. "No one ever calls...what is it, my dear?"
"Oh, is that all?" He said sarcastically, rolling his eyes before turning back to Sosol. "I'm ready when--" The sunglasses were already off, the two seemingly in a staring contest as the InfoLink began.
"It has been so long since I have seen this in action..." Kristen marveled. "The pupils are already beginning to change in size..."

Tyler was motionless, though his facial expressions said a lot. Slight confusion, concentration, awe...and after a dizzying minute or so, he stumbled backward, breaking eye contact and laughing. It only last a bit before he flopped into Azana's waiting arms. What a rush that was...!
"You think he found something...?" She asked, gently lowering him to the floor as her husband recovered and replaced the sunglasses. "That seemed pretty happy to me."
"Y-yeah, probably," he stammered, the world seeming to go slow for a moment as his senses came back to reality. "I've never done that...with a genius before."
"Congratulations, Brother," Kristen smiled. "However...hopeful news aside, did Remy not offer stiff drinks to those burdened with this terrible secret?" If she could get him back to something familiar and mundane, perhaps it would all be okay.
"Oh, dear," Orrin murmured, looking over the pictures and rather not liking the idea of Horsemen. Apocalypses almost always meant emergency displacement...but the suggestion snapped him out of those ideas.
"The Order...? Here?" He said, oddly nervous for his usual calm demeanor. "I don't think they would all heed my call...b-but if it's necessary..."

"O-of course," Sosol wandered to the bar, finding the familiar motions comforting and stabilizing. And he still remembered their favorites, or learned them quickly in some cases. Glasses hovered every which way, including one for Tyler when he woke.
"Crystal skulls...? Are those not easy to-- oh...you're talking about something quite rare indeed. I'm not sure I've even laid eyes on one of those...they are not the sort to get lost." Orrin said, still a little concerned about the idea of the Order on their doorstep. He really didn't need an evaluation right now...
"Thanks, dear," Azana said, sipping hers and looking over the remote. Hopefully, Tyler had some ideas when he woke up. Well, related ideas...that mind was always at work.
Kristen, meanwhile, looked over to the fox. "...your patience will soon be rewarded," she said quietly with a soft smile.
