Honey looked up, not to think but because she could hear the leper shuffling. It was creepy how he just sat up there and watched everyone. Not seeing anyone, she touched her neck and looked back to Marylin with a smile, "Not'ing t' comp'ain abou'. I'm on my way t' busk b'fore it gets too cold ou'side an' pe'ple get stingy."

Out the door, only to be replaced with a cheerful curlytop and a goofy demon, who both seemed very proud of their prizes from fishing: an old boot and a string of tin cans that made an excellent rattle while strung together.

Even to the demon...she hadn't entirely made up her mind on that, but there was no reason she couldn't treat him with the respect a noble adversary deserved. "I can explain weddings to you, if you'd like," Marilyn chuckled lightly, finding the naive explanation of the cans amusing. "The cans are tied on the car to continue an old superstition...they thought the noise would scare evil spirits away from the new couple."
She turned her attention to Charlotte's question. "I'm alright...a little down, but it's nothing terrible."

"Well, I have spent a significant portion of my life in Delphi. I considered it my calling, until it was pulled out from under me. While I have somewhat enjoyed a similar experience in the clergy...I wonder if I did it because I was drawn to it, or because I was running away from something else." She looked to Charlotte, the young woman who really wasn't so young. "Coming back here has brought all of that back after months of pushing it away..."
