harder instruments to play= bigpipes, french horn

I don't have a lot of confidence either... I only ever practice when I'm home alone because I don't want my parents hearing me... sweatdrop

I disagree. I personally think the trombone is one of the easier instruments to adlib with. It's hard with a trumpet because the notes and pitches sound really bad if you strike the wrong keys.

i agree about the trumpet, but this is the story for all brass instruments.

and even more so with the trombone, there is no marking on the slide to tell you where the notes are located and if you are just out by a fraction- it could mean the difference between a D and an E. and then there is the add trouble of going from 6th position (right down the end) to 2nd position very quickly. I did not say first positon because there is 7th posiition which is just a fraction below 6th. where as with the trumpet and othere key brass instruments you dont have to move your whole arm, only your fingers.

indeed it can be. i tried to play the flute once but could not, i requires a completely different style of blowing into the instrument and i could not move from the trombone to flute as i had thought of doing

Yeah, it's quite different. My teacher (who plays lots of instruments) told me that to play flute you have to blow so much more air... If I play for too long at once I start getting dizzy... sweatdrop

Yeah, it's quite different. My teacher (who plays lots of instruments) told me that to play flute you have to blow so much more air... If I play for too long at once I start getting dizzy... sweatdrop

i know the feeling all to well, you can never really just half arse it when blowing into an instrument, you have to give it everything

i would some times give it too much and have to stop and get my breathe again
