Jeff nodded at Terry. Mal had not moved and the adolescent could only ignore someone for so long. He looked up at the demon.
"What do you want?" he asked as calmly as he could master.

Damien watched her curiously. He had never touched a stove before. Stoves were for people that were better than him. He had rarely seen anyone touch a stove when he lived with his parents. They always ordered takeout, but it didn't matter, because he never got any food there.

Jeff blinked. He was not mean, he was just...cold. And why should he be nice anyway?! He finished the last bite of his sandwich and looked at Mal.

Malachai took a deep breath and sighed. "Violet and I are friends, and being all grouchy about it isn't going to make her happy." he said, nodding resolutely. "I told her I'm a demon and she's okay with it, so I'm not lying to her either."
He offered his hand. "I want us to be on good terms."

Jeff listened to the demon, looking at him attentively. He could not chase the uneasiness that Mal was a demon and had done bad things in his past, nor the jealousy, but he had thought about it for a while and if Violet cared for him, at least, he had to be polite and civil with Malachai. He did not need to like him or become his friend though.
The adolescent cleaned his hand on his jeans and stood up. He took Mal's and shook it firmly.
"I care for Violet, a lot. If you do anything to her, I will not forgive you." he said with all the pride of youth in his voice, but there was barely of his previous animosity left in his posture.

Jeff's hand went limp in Mal's. He looked at the demon, then at Charlotte who was not either his favorite person. He had not been in at the Inn, stopping in and out to greet Violet.
"No more Kasdeya?" he asked puzzled.

Kiran and Mel had begun their work, Kiran pointing things out on the tablet. Mel having transcribed it all over the past two days- as the miracles she could weave. Kiran fretted over not having the papers and she produced them for him from her satchel.
Kyou watched silently from the blind corner of the rafters, suppressing coughs with deep breaths of the aged vanilla smoke. So much activity today and so many people Kyou wanted to speak with. Shaking moonlit head, it was best to stay out of the way- Kyou leaned into the corner staring into space.

Mal shook his head. "There's a lot of people to be thanked...and I wasn't around for that particular trip. Instead, I think you should go hug Violet and say hi to her and let her tell you about it and be all surprised when she tells you." he smiled, nodding.
Charlotte giggled, wondering how Jeff would react to knowing that Malachai's power was unbound, and fully restored.

Jeff looked at them again, wiggling his nose, uneasy. Then he nodded and headed for the stairs towards Violet's room.
Lin looked from afar at Mal and Charlotte. She remained silent, then her eyes drifted to Kyou. Silver gaze lingered on white hair without a word, then she went back to her tea.
