The pen flew, 'It is wonderful. I admit I only drink oolong but it is the only word I know because it has many koi mouths. You have chosen something very nice. Thank you very much, Miss Ming.' Kyou sipped at the tea with enthusiasm, clearly delighted with each pull of it.

Lin seemed satisfied that both guests seemed to enjoy the tea.
"Good." she said simply.
She looked again at Kyou's face. Was she better? Was the mushi still here?
"You're welcome. Jasmine is a very gentle tea." she said taking a sip of her own cup.
"Hey." Jeff greeted those inside without enthusiasm as he walked towards the kitchen with Opal's basket.

Jeff frowned but not more than usual at Mal's greeting. "You too." he said, trying to be civil as he disappeared in the kitchen.

The white fox pranced in and went straight to Malachai, jumping up and making herself comfortable on him. She was light afterall and shouldn't have disturbed him much. Spunky, on the other hand, barreled inside and froze. He'd never been inside before. WHAT WAS ALL OF THIS STUFF?! He began sniffing around, SO MANY SMELLS.
Opal sidled in slowly, having to duck and step in sideways. She stood, as always, near the door- though she was polite enough to close it. She bowed her head to the demon, to the possessed human and the woman with silver eyes before setting down the basket of bear and rabbit meat.
'A gentle tea from a gentle soul. Wonderful. You are very wise, Miss Ming.'

Malachai looked sheepish at the gruff regard, but lifted his cup and game curiously at Tam's arrival, petting the fox with a smile.
However, at the sight of Spunky, Mal gasped and whistled eagerly. "SPUNKYYYY!"

Jeff stepped out of the kitchen and looked at the demon with the pretty fox on his lap. Was she his? He saw Mal happily call the wolf and the adolescent sighed. He felt very deflated. It seemed the demon had many more friends in this place than he did. Without a word, he walked back to Opal and emptied part of the basket, knowing that he would be unable to lift it by himself.
Lin tilted her head at the new arrivals. "Mister Jeff. Lady." she said at Opal whom she had never met before.

Kiran cringed in his room and desperately dug for earplugs before realizing they were already in. He locked himself in the bathroom and sat in the tub. Monsters were whistling for his soul.
Spunky's ears jumped up and he ran over. Tam yipped at him warningly and Spunky sat down just as he'd been preparing to jump. He lifted a paw and whined loudly as if asking to be let over. Tam lay her tail as a barrier between Malachai and the wolf, head tilted to the side. Spunky grumbled, clearly jealous. The fox looked to Jeff and whined softly, lifting a dainty paw- he only need call and she'd go to him.
Opal watched, she did not care for the control the little fox had over her wolf. It wasn't natural. It was too intelligent or held magic. She nodded her head to the woman with soft expressions, "Well met, Lady. I am Opal."
Kyou swallowed the tea, nervous. The giantess was not Kyou's favorite person.

Malachai bipped Tam's head lightly. "You share!" he scolded, scratching Spunky's head. "I like Spunky!"

If Jeff saw or heard the white fox, he did not show anything about it as he made several trips between the basket and the kitchen, putting everything dutifully away.
Lin bowed her head. "I am Lin, Miss Opal, this is an honor." she had never met someone so tall in her life. She noticed Kyou's change of behavior and her hand patted Kyou's very briefly as she stood up. "Would you care for some tea?" she offered the giantess.

Opal smiled kindly, briefly before her stern expression returned, "I would not wish to trouble you." Kyou looked at Miss Lin, wasn't she scared of the giantess? A small blush took to the lighter skin of the observers face before withdrawing the bandaged hand and shakily sipping at the tea.
The fox balked, blue eyes wide. Had he... had he struck her?! She nipped at his belly and lept off the couch. Flicking her tail at Malachai, she went to and followed Jeff back and forth. How rude! Hitting her, she was far too pretty for such brutality!
Spunky took her place and grumbled merrily. LOVE MEEEEEEEEE.

He snorted after Tam with a pout, then scooped up Spunky and nuzzled his tummy, scratching the wolf's ribs. "boodleboodleboodle!"

"This is no trouble at all." said the Asian woman at the giant. Her face was calm and emotionless. She prepared a cup of tea with the same care as she had for Kyou and Mal.
"Mister Jeff, would you care for tea?" she offered.
Jeff was done and bringing back the second, now empty, basket. "No Lin, thank you." he said.
"Here you go. I am not familiar with the arrangement you have with the innkeepers, do we owe you money or something?" he asked. As he waited for an answer, his fingers found the fox's soft fur and he looked at the animal with a hint of surprise in his forest green eyes. "Oh you're back?" he asked bitter sweet.

She bowed her head as if ashamed, nuzzling beneath his hand. She hadn't meant to hurt his feelings! Why was he so upset? She lifted a tiny paw and rested in on his hand, tilting her head to the side as if to ask if he was well.
"I am not paid for this. I do not wish to be. The bounty of the land should be enjoyed by all." Opal shook her head slightly at Jeff's question, "I have been told by the innkeeper it is unnecessary, but there is only so much I can keep in the forge."
Spunky was all about this! The wolf squirmed and pounced on his favorite play being and showered him in wolfy kisses.
