"Hardy har har," Chris said sarcastically. "No. We were going sledding and somebody decided to take a detour through the Christmas tree lot," he added with a pointed glance at his avian companion.

Malachai, meanwhile, stared agape.

Bright.
Yellow.
Feathers.  

[Azana Brown]

Azana chuckled lightly before looking to Malachai's astonished face. "Erm...Mal, this is Nate. Nate, this is Mal. I guess you can say he's a fan."

Sosol leaned in a bit to Chris as Azana introduced the two. "He's dreamt for years of petting a bird..."

"I see. I just hope he doesn't get too friendly. Remember when Nate and I first met and I kept waking up on the roof?"

The demon's tail drooped slowly at the strange prospect, quite worried. "Roof? Does getting petted make him go onto the roof..?" asked Malachai of Azana.  

[Azana Brown]

"What? No!" Azana answered. "Nate's been accused of sleep-flying...but since you have wings, too, it shouldn't be a problem, right?"

Sosol set down the two drinks. "So, Chris...how's life been treating you, aside from sledding accidents?"

"Oh, not bad. The crime rate has been very low lately so I've decided to go into temporary retirement from the hero gig. Crystal's happy with the decision, especially since she wants to be married by spring," he replied, taking a sip of his drink. "Oh, that reminds me." He leaned in closer to Sosol and whispered. "Nate and I were at Bella Luna recently and I could have sworn I saw Tyler having dinner with Zulma. When did that happen?"

He nodded earnestly, then smiled, shyly, fangily, and waved to Nate. "H-HI, birdy-Nate..."

Nate turned to greet the demon with a cheerful squawk as he quickly assembled a sandwich.

Azana stood by, just in case disaster struck. Nate had all the luck of a hapless cartoon character. Everything seemed to be alright for now...though...Chris was in those pictures. Didn't he deserve to know?

Temporary retirement and a wedding in spring, Sosol shot her immediately, best if we don't, for now. The whispering made his ears twitch, his eyebrows clearing the top of his sunglasses by a considerable margin.

"This is news to me," he answered in hushed tones. "Last time they were together was on a mission...you're sure?"

"I won't assume anything without all the facts, but it didn't look like a business dinner if that's what you mean. It struck me as a bit odd. I know I've been out of events for a while, but I thought that Tyler and Stacy were doing that whole on-again, off-again thing."  

[Gren_Eckener]

Mal gasped, tail swaying eagerly as he clambered over the couch's arm, approaching the bird. "Can I pet you?"  

[Azana Brown]

"I haven't seen or heard from Stacy since the two of them made up ages ago," Sosol frowned, arms folded as he thought it over. "But Zulma...? She travels a lot...it wouldn't add up, if Tyler's disappointment is the distance and lack of contact. I bet it would probably be best just to ask him; I did enough reading with him a few days ago."

I didn't pick up on any relationship...maybe some attraction, but that's normal. Zulma is a beautiful woman. Then again...since when does an excursion take that long, especially with Ty's gadget...?

"It's been a dream of his, Nate...been a little sheltered," Azana explained. "I'll make sure it doesn't get weird." She glanced to Malachai, a friendly warning to behave.

Nate shrugged. He didn't really see any problem with someone petting him, so long as it didn't mess up his sandwich.

"That's strange. I haven't actually heard from Stacy in a while, either. Maybe I should give her a call and make sure she's okay."  

[Astra_Senpai]

The white fox pranced to the wolf, putting a paw on his head. Spunky whined softly, ears down. She yipped, waving her tail and pawing at the floor, Spunky perked up and bounced in a circle. Tamriel led to the kitchen, nosing open the door and slipping into the room- Spunky followed suit by barreling in and clamoring about excitedly.

She yipped at Gren, fanning her tail. Spunky, unable to contain himself, marched in place and gave a loud "BWOOF."
