Kyou couldn't look her in the eye. Tears welled down the pale side as silent words of thanks fell from thin lips.

Lin froze, she did not know how to react. Why was she crying? She raised a hand to stroke her cheek but the move was so foreign to her that she staying with her fingers in mid air without touching her skin.
"Why...are you crying?" she asked lost.
Jeff raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?" he asked cautiously.

The mute confessed. The ache in Kyou's chest, the pain the woman caused with her kindness, how beautiful she was, the feeling of swallowing sap and the gratitude. Kyou's lips moved, emerald eye pleading but words without sound. The pen has begun to tear the paper downstairs. Kyou's head shook and slowly the mute rose to leave. There was no way to tell Miss Lin... not how she'd understand.

Lin looked at Kyou's face, reading her lips. She caught words and there. Pain. Beauty. Gratitude. She did not understand. But the younger woman's eye was filled with so many emotions that it scared Lin so used to buckle up her own feelings deep inside her.
However when Kyou stood up, Lin's reaction was as immediate as it was surprise to even herself. She grabbed the white hair woman's sleeve and clenched it but without looking at her.
There was a pause, then she spoke in her usual cool voice.
"Your hair." she said. " I have not finished braiding your hair." Her head slowly tilted to look up at the tall woman. Maybe she did not want her help anymore.

Kyou did not pull away because Miss Lin would come away with the sleeve hiding the curse from the light. Kyou slowly met Miss Lin's eyes, a breath and heartbeat passing before returning. Sitting as Kyou had been before, head bowed- the observer submitted to her. Wanting nothing more than to make her happy, Kyou stayed still.

Jeff frown. That was not good.
"Can't it be cured?" he asked.
Lin blinked. She did not know why but she felt...sad when Kyou simply sat back and did not try to explain more. Yet, she slide to the other side and braided another long strand of white hair. She felt like she was weaving clouds or snow. Once it was done, she fastened it the same way as the first one.
She did not speak, did not ask when she moved into Kyou's back. This time she braided all the remaining hair in a four strand french braid which started high on her head. The thick braid reached her lower back instead of passing her hips. The Asian woman gently folded it up and secured it with a barrette at the back of Kyou's head. Then she took the side braids, letting them hang slightly before pinning them about the main braid in the back.
She moved back to be facing the white hair woman and looked at her. The hairdo was softening her masculine features. She pulled up the mirror.
"What do you think?" she asked.

Empty. This was the feeling Kyou had, staring at large hands and feeling a fool. Miss Lin must have wanted to finish because it would have hurt her pride. Kyou's chest hurt, as if a heavy weight was resting firmly on it.
Kyou's eye went wide at the reflection. Touching the glass then pointing at self as if to say 'that is me?'

Jeff shrugged. He did not like the idea but he was not worried.
"As long as you have that in check...for you or the others." said the teen with a blase face.
Lin allowed her face to hint some softness. She nodded. She did not speak much but with Kyou mute, it was making their 'conversation' quick short.
"Yes it is you." she said calmly.
She seemed to hesitate, silver eyes looking down a moment, then she spoke, maybe a little slower than usual.
"With your arm, if you wanted, I could help you with your hair in the mornings."

He looked at his glass. It wasn't half full.

Tam looked at Kassadin and yipped as if to say yes. She nosed against Jeff's leg insisting on more petting !
Kyou nodded with enthusiasm, bowing.

Jeff opened wide deep green eyes then shrugged. Tam's call made the teen blink.
"Sure! I mean why not. Love does not care about that kind of stuff." he scratched his head, obviously uncomfortable with the situation, then went back to petting the fox.
"I don't know much on the subject but I'd thing so." he added, thinking about Violet. They'd kiss. He wanted to protect her. Was that love?
Lin seemed satisfied. "Good. Just come to my room when you are ready in the mornings and I will do your hair." she said as if it was something normal. She took the box and put back the mirror in it, then she stood up and disappeared in the bathroom again.
