[RP] The Inn of Peace - IoP (Open to all)

Remy grinned, sitting down at the craft desk and gathering a few things before starting in. "Painting, schmainting. Nobody gets too old for construction paper." he sustained, cutting something out with fun scissors.  

[Azana Brown]

"Amen, brotha!" Max spun around and looked to him. "Besides...thought counts. Especially with my mega super ultra long nice list...man, I'd need MacP's fortune ta buy 'em all gifts! Cards and e-mails go a looooong way!"

Holiday music came out of her speakers, though it was barely recognizable at first due to heavy covering and remixing. No reason she couldn't be festive in her own way. Most of those songs were so overdone, after all.

Remy smiled, using a glue stick to tack down fake gemstones and sequins. "This is more time-consuming, too, then just buying a gift...it's clear what effort went into it. Art's the best gift."  

[Azana Brown]

"Yup! Never goes obsolete, never falls to trends, doesn't get threadbare..." Max trailed off, a soft smile at one of the pictures. "Aww...that's a cute one..."

Remy glanced over, smiling warmly at the sight. How he hoped it wasn't the last he'd see it. "It's adorable...what'll you use it for?"  

[Azana Brown]

"I'm thinking a prime spot in a montage," Max answered, looking over her shoulder at him, her smile slightly silhouette by the screen's light. Cheerful. Always. Life was too short for anything else.

Remy admired that smile. How it always hung at the corner of her lips, hid in her cheeks. Always there.

"I love you, you know."  

[Astra_Senpai]

Tamriel left the wolf to his own doings, prancing out into the main room and curling up by the fire.

Spunky was very preoccupied with chasing Zippo around the kitchen.

"I love you, too..." Max was silent for a second, cheeks slightly rosy before she turned back to her computer. She typed and clicked away for a little while before speaking again.

"Oi, Remy...wanna know a secret...? Not like ya don't know any or anythin', but..."  

[Gren_Eckener]

"Yes?" he said, looking over, smiling a little. He looked tired, but happy. "I'd love to hear it."  

[Azana Brown]

"It's about why I take all those vitamins, an' kinda why I'm the way I am, ya know?" Max still didn't look toward him. "I wasn't always this energetic an' stuff..."  

[Gren_Eckener]

He tilled his head a bit, now curious. "I thought you were just a bit anemic."  

[Azana Brown]

"Well, I'm a little now, yeah..." Max continued to make the montage, clearly uncomfortable sharing this with much of anyone. "I used ta be really sick, though. Like, stay in bed an' go to the hospital a lot sick. Thin and stringy hair sick. It...it was really lonely, and scary, thinkin' I might not live ta see another birthday. I started learnin' ta hack an' surf the Web while I was sick, and people really liked my smiling face and my cool wig..."

She smiled, wiping at an eye with her sleeve. "I ditched the sick, but I kept what I got outta it. All the vitamins ta keep healthy and energetic, the cool wigs and outfits, doin' whatever I want. Life's too short to be boring."

Remy slowly set down his project as she spoke, listening carefully. He stood and walked over, bending at his knees enough to hug her from behind, chin on her thin shoulder, kissing her cheek. "Naomi...I could not be more blessed then to have you here today, and only now do I know to what degree."

Max flinched lightly, between the somewhat unexpected hug and the use of her actual name, though it could hardly last. That chilly kiss, and such a heartfelt statement of love...she leaned into it slightly, glancing to him with those lively blue eyes.

"I didn't think it really mattered, bein' the past an' all..." she muttered softly. "But I figured, since I love ya an' all, that you oughta know 'bout it. A little more about the me under all the rainbows. So, thanks, Remy...for stickin' around."
