[RP] The Inn of Peace - IoP (Open to all)

[Azana Brown]

"If you want to know a secret," Kristen said quietly, taking a small sip with an approving nod, "I have tasted it before...it was a strong liquor, in order to try fire-breathing. It was not as successful as I had hoped." She chuckled.

"Someone else will finish it, certainly."

Azana enjoyed the rum on its own, nursing a small tumbler. "Ah...no suitable host means he's screwed. Got it." She glanced to Honey and Kristen. Was that directed at me...?

Perhaps. Honey is not much of a drinker, and I am underage. I do not want to cause trouble.

Max's cheeks were already a little rosy from the strong mai tai. "Whoa...this stuff's crazy," she muttered to Remy. "No wonder ya didn't tell me much...not sure I'd get it..."

Orrin seemed to glide downstairs, catching his drink with little to no effort. "Lady Horseman," he offered kindly, smiling to Charlotte. "My superiors are pleased to hear of this new development. They still dislike my fraternizing with you, but there is no law forbidding it."

Honey giggled, "I's not meant for drinkin'... I don't play wit' fire often.. I'm a bit flammable." Honey nipped a tiny sip and shivered from crown to toes, staring at it. "Bollucks, t'is is 'igh stuff!" She was happy to simply sit with it until someone took it.

Tamriel slipped downstairs, siding up to Malachai and saying nothing. Her tail wrapping around his leg.

Abigail stood, Saturday sliding from her lap to the floor, "Now dat we 'ave all dat cleared up, I 'ave to go talk to Hana." She strode past Felix' room on her way to the staircase that Hana had disappeared up during her explanation. She paused to smile at both him and Tam, ruffling the demon's hair before proceeding upstairs.

Charlotte giggled. "That codger must be feeling generous, if he'll admit that...maybe he hopes that you'll keep me in line?"

Gren smiled, waving after Abigail, looking to Azana with a hopeful smile. It seemed...like there was a good deal off of his shoulders.

Remy chuckled, snuggling up to Max. "Weeee beat the Apooooocalyyyypse!"

Malachai stepped a bit closer to Tem when her tail wound, glad for the company, but went shock-still at the approach of the Horsewoman. He held his breath as she lifted her hand, a shiver running up his spine at her rumple, cheeks red in her wake as he stared, amazed. Once she was ought of sight, he hung on the door, exhausted by the experience.

Azana nodded, coming near and sitting with Gren. "...everyone's fine," she said, the relief spreading as it truly settled with her. "Eli, Tech, Stella...everyone. The world's off our shoulders."

"We all are capable of being burned," Kristen agreed, hand resting on her fire essence necklace. "Playing with fire means embracing that...I could burn myself as easily as anyone else. I know that...and from that, strangely, comes much freedom."

"Yup! Procrastinators got no excuses now!" Max joked, smiling. She really didn't feel like she stopped anything, but hey, she wasn't dying yet. That was worth celebrating.

"I suppose they assumed beings of Order would never do so. Sort of an implicit rule...Law hated it when I pointed that out. I guess this is his way of saving face." Orrin smiled. "Samsara made for a helpful advocate, too. She made that whole 'keep an eye on you' point."

The burned fox blushed deeply at the smile, casting her eyes down. She certainly didn't deserve so much! She bit her lip and held her breath at the touch to Malachai and once the essence had moved on she squeaked to her friend, tail fully flared. Gently cupping his cheeks in her icy hands, "She touched you! You're alright? Ohhhh!"

Honey looked up at Kristen for a long moment. She'd be happy to burned by someone so sweet.

Gren took a deep breath and let it out slowly. "I don't think that I've ever been so secure in facing a holiday as I am right now."

"Nope! Time to bust out the bubbly and punch and pudding!"

"Whom?" asked Charlotte sweetly, sidling over and snuggling up. "I think I like her already."  

[Azana Brown]

Azana hugged him lightly. "Same here...by the gods, I'm dragging Tech out of the Labs for this year's celebration. I deserve it, dammit." She leaned back, looking up at the ceiling and chuckling. It was muted, but it brought back memories of sitting in HQ, looking over a deactivated bomb and just laughing madly with her best friend. They had made it...

"Ooh! Egg nog," Max smirked. "And...and candy canes!"

Kristen looked to Honey, blinking. She was trying her best not to pry, but a silent look like that almost begged to be read. "Um...should I deliver your drink to someone else...?"

"I've never told you about Samsara?" Orrin asked, surprised. "She's the Keeper of the Life Cycle. Birth, death, rebirth. Some people mistake her for the Angel of Death..."

He hugged gently in return, though he wanted to hug far harder. "I think that today, we stay in and rest on our laurels...and tomorrow, blow the roof off in celebration. What d'you say, chief bouncer?"

"Right now?"

Malachai nodded furiously, tail trembling. "She was, she was gentle, and nice...I think she's not here on business, Tam, I think we're going to be okay...it's not an audit."

"Ohhhhhhhhh! Oh, oh! That's who she is!" laughed Charlotte. "She just sort of smiles wryly and points to my revolving door; we never chatted much!"

That was a hopeless, hopeful thought. Honey looked away, nodded, "Give it to whoe'er need it the most."

Tamriel seethed as she hugged her friend, so very relieved. Admittedly the position was awkward but not being 'audited', as he put it, was a HUGE relief.

Azana grinned, leaning against him a little. She didn't know why...it just seemed needed. "Sounds good to me, boss." She stuck out her tongue a little. They had never really bothered with titles, but that was the technicality of it. She was chief bouncer, answering to the Innkeepers.

"Not now, silly! But, ya know, sometime soon." Max's eyes scanned the crowd. "Besides...it ain't time for a huge party yet. Let everyone be relieved, then bam! Mega-party!"

Kristen looked at her, thought about it for a moment, and didn't move. She grinned instead, moving and hugging her again. "Perhaps I am being too nosy, but you seem troubled. May I ask why...?"

"Oh, you've met!" Orrin smiled. "I could imagine her doing that...she's probably used to you. If you'd like to chat, I can certainly arrange it. She's not Law, that's for sure."

She smiled as bright as the sun, shrugged, "Only a few t'ings on m' mind, not'ing outstanding, Love." She looked up, scanning for the leper.

Kyou gave a small wave with the bandaged hand.
Honey touched her jaw and leaning in closet to Kristen, swallowed.
Kyou exhaled a plume of smoke, slipping into the shadow of the blind corner.

Gren allowed it, minding himself, chuckling at her tease. "Sorry that the Apocalypse was a bust...It kind of fell through." he returned, grinning.

Malachai hugged back easily, glad of the contact, feeling suddenly very much in need of a cuddle. "I'm sorry if I'm hurting you to touch..."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah...I'm just, I'm so pumped, you know?"

Charlotte tittered, giving Orrin a firm hug. "Tomorrow. Tonight, we rejoice. Rum?"

"Considering the preview, I think I'm okay with that," Azana answered, looking up to him and sipping her rum. "I almost forgot, though, how big of a deal Abby would be to the local demons. I wonder if Bara would act the same...for being her contract, there's a lot I still don't know."

"Me, too...! But hey, preparing is fun, too. Let's go pick you out some crazy-festive threads!" Max hopped up, not spilling a drop of the mai tai. "Betcha I can find some mistletoe, too!"

"That was pretty dangerous last time we had it out," Sosol warned, chuckling and shaking his head. They wouldn't listen, and he knew it.

Kristen blinked, watching the exchange before Kyou left the front door. "You fear her...and you find me a comfort. Or perhaps a defender...? I will ask no further, since it seems to cause you anxiety. However, if you wish to speak with me, I can certainly relate to having painful memories."

"The kind bartender already took care of that," Orrin smiled, holding up the glass. "Chaos works in such strange ways, it seems. Your kindred Horseman was to bring the end, and whimsical forces cut those machinations short."

Honey flushed lightly, pushing those thoughts away. Those kinds of things ruined good times, she swallowed, "Maybe later.. I'm still sortin' it out. I- don' wanna' ruin the spirit."

Tamriel smiled gently, tears stinging the corners of her eyes, "If I'm going to spend more time as myself, then I must lean to handle it. Musn't I? "
