"Help with what?" Azana took up a lollipop, shaking it lightly at Honey. "She's not some fugitive or missing person."

Max was upstairs, poring through information and making links. Victoria was just starting to get interesting...and the timeline...oh, Ty was onto something!

"Let's hear her out. It does seem weird that she'd abandon shop, though I wouldn't go as far as Tyler's theory. Nothing personal."

"It's fine. Ignore the observant genius," he rolled his eyes, standing up to fetch something a little more substantial than candy.

She bowed her head, suddenly shy on it. Lacing her hands behind her back and rocking on her toes, "I dunno- I'm no Robin 'Ood at t'is jus'... tha's real silver. Maybe wha' she does wit' silver someone else canno'? Or 'er wire work? Or b'fore tha'- 'ou know?"
Chewing her lip, "No' every person 'as the read and write action, some of the lime it's better t' go out of sight. Sometimes 'ou 'ave to disappear." She lingered on the thought a moment.
Looking up at Azana, she shrugged, "'Ou said I was obvious didn' 'ou? Maybe tha' was 'er takin' a chance?"

She rubbed her neck absently, hummed a note, "If I knew wha' she looked like I could try again."

Kyou would follow Tyler to the kitchen, most of the rafter work allowed plenty of space between the freckled girl and the observed.

"Maybe, but do I wear mittens or those oven things to keep the cold in?" he pouted, nuzzling Felix idly. "By the way...do you smell brimstone, Tam?"
PostPosted: Mon Apr 22, 2013 8:24 pm
Tyler raided the fridge, looking for something appealing and mumbling to himself, wondering why he bothered. Cold reason, without facts to back it up, wouldn't convince them. He needed Max's search to confirm his hypothesis. Victoria was involved.

"Well, that's an easy request," Sosol grinned, putting a hand on Honey's shoulder lightly and sending her a mental image. A memory of being in her shop. Victoria was a dainty, reserved lady who carried herself with almost old-fashioned propriety. Her hair and eyes were both as silver as what she worked with, yet it was clear she wasn't elderly. Her smile was gentle and loving, both to customers and especially to her works. She had almost motherly pride in them.

"I suppose...it's far-fetched, but since you'll be out there anyway, we could help her with her trouble," Azana nodded. Perhaps she was having issues unrelated to their investigation. No reason they couldn't take on a secondary task.

"Brimstone," she asked. Fwip. Her ears whipped up as her tail fluffed and ruffled.
It was rude for a lady to take audible breaths, but this was for a good reason. She wasn't used to her nose yet, all she could smell were the various body washes, body odors, charms, candy and the brilliant scent of intense emotions. Not brimstone. She sniffed a few times, there it was!

She issued a small whine, but where was he?

Honey closed one eye at the touch, the other at the image. She always watched her crowd to know where to go with the sound. That was one of the doves who had favored the ballads... wasn't it? Fluttering blues open, "I can find 'er again. Tha's a face 'ou don' forget. But I'll 'ave to try t'morrow or so."

Kyou opened a cabinet, produced a jar of peanut butter and honey. The honey was poured into bowls and left out on the counter but the new jar of peanut butter was about to fall victim to hungry mushishi.

There was a resounding knock on the Inn door some seconds later. Malachai grinned, chuckling. "You want to answer it, Tam, or shall I?"

Answer? She lit up like a beacon, pure nervous energy. Door? What door? There's a door? A flush of peach color crossed her ethereal pale skin as she brought her hands up to cover her cheeks. A small wince at touching the wound but it wasn't avoidable. She didn't like to be picked on, but what else was there to do? He was well in his rights to, but maybe he was really trying to help? Her lips trembled, ears trembling, Tamriel had never been faced with an option like this! While she had never been fond of the scent of brimstone, now she was more excited about it than any discernible event which came to mind. She stood up and sat back down again. Oh she didn't know! She hadn't wanted to see someone so badly before. Embarrassed, excited, her tail curled around and unwrapped and curl- SHEHADNOIDEA. In the past any potential had been brought to her but that life was over and she was supposed to- HOW DO? She sounded like that behemoth wolf and she wasn't sure if that was okay or not. It must be, it had to be, certainly it was alright to feel a fool for someone... someone like you but not you and understood because who knew why, they simply did. Would she seem to forward if she did? Would she seem too disinterested if she didn't? What if he didn't like her dress? Was this dress too revealing? Was she showing too much cleavage? Yes, of course there was no way around her bust but sometimes her vision of modesty was not that of someone elses. She hadn't put on enough makeup to smooth the burns. Red lipstick, what was she thinking? What if there were still indents from her reading spectacles on her bridge? She knew she was tired, what is she had circles beneath her eyes?! She smoothed her dress, fussed as her tail wrapped around her middle and fluffed up attractively. Maybe she should hide? Turn into a fox and dash up to her room and hide beneath the pillows. No. No she wanted to see him, she'd been wanting to see him. What was she supposed to do? What was the right way? The wrong way? She felt horribly unprepared and uninformed. Someone would be hung by their toes and bled for this. She didn't like being unprepared. Damn this nose. Oh merciful King of Forests what was she supposed to do!? She rested her hands on her lap, blue eyes big as dinner plates, "I don't know."

Malachai chuckled, sauntering off to the the door and letting in his boss, Bill.

Bill had donned a fresh tie and appeared to have tried getting on a shirt, a button-up his best bet as it strained at his collar and shoulders. He wore a bow tie as well, which was a little crooked, and was holding a manilla folder in one hand and cradled a clod of dirt with a pink hyacinth bobbing from the top in his free palm.

Malachai grinned, stepping back to let the behemoth step inside, which he did with clearly bashful grace. "Hello."

"...I haven't forgotten, Kyou," Tyler broke the silence, watching her arrange what seemed to be a meal for her invisible (but not intangible) research subjects. "I'm still working on the viewer. Progress has been slow, with all the other distractions." He finally settled on pizza rolls, of all things, spreading them on a cookie sheet and shoving them in the oven.

"No hurry," Sosol grinned. "I can't expect you to spend all your time out there, even if the weather is improving."

"Speaking of which...honey, would you like to accompany me on an evening ride? Maybe we can spot something from the sky," Azana offered, honestly just wanting to feel the wind in her short hair again.

"I don' 'ave anythin' else t' do... as long as I can mangle and wring for Sparrow w'en she bo-peeps it's all alrigh'," she explained to Sosol, smiling. Hopeful, Honey looked to Azana and asked, "'Oney me or 'Oney 'im?"

Kyou blinked, head tilting to the side. It was good to know he hadn't forgotten but this wasn't for the mushi. Very few mushi like honey, there was one whch-... maybe later. Setting the pen out on a page produced from hidden pocket, the pen snapped to. 'I am pleased to hear you have not forgotten, Friend, but the honey is for the chibi. What are those things you have put into the slow heating box?'

She couldn't move, she was frozen. She glanced to the folder, then to the flowers. Were those for her? No, no, no a lady shouldn't assume. Oh but she hoped, gracious she hoped. She wasn't sure if she should rise or let him come to her or OH! Look at that bowtie, she pressed her lips together, he looked so handsome. That tiny whine crossed her again. Aloof! She should be aloof! WORKBRAIN! Slowly she rose, smiled, her voice squeaked, "Hello, Bill."

Clearing his throat, Bill thrust out his hand in offering, presenting the hyacinth with bright orange cheeks. "H-Hello, Lady Tamriel...I brought you a proper gift, this time, for meeting a lady of your grace."

A clod of dirt fell to the floor.

He gulped, the bow bobbing with a mild creak.

"Well, if you don't mind careening around in the sky with no seat belt or windshield, I suppose you could come along, too," Azana shrugged. "In all honesty, though, I originally meant my loving husband."

"Let me get the goggles...I don't want to almost lose my shades in a barrel roll again," he chuckled, having missed the feeling of riding with his wife. Maybe they needed to enter another race.

"Ah," Tyler nodded, reading through the note before looking to the oven. Slow heating box. That made sense...no need for extra vocabulary. "They're small, savory pastries, stuffed with tomato sauce, spices, and a little bit of meat and cheese." It was the best he could do without introducing her to the word 'pizza'. She'd probably like pizza, regardless, but it was a matter of principle.

Carefully she cupped the flower by the roots, cradling Bill's hand for a long moment before pulling away with the plant. The roots twisted around her hands, embedding into her skin, the flower perking as she gave them a gentle sniff.

She stood on her toes, lightly pressed her unburned cheek against his glowing one before rocking back to flat on her bare feet. Fluttering long lashes to the generous demon, she smiled, "A lovely gift from so a so finely dressed gentleman. How ever did you know this is one of my favorite flowers? "

"I don' wan'a impose." Honey shook her head, "Nah s'alrigh'. I need a lie down any'ow." She wasn't really, okay maybe a little, disappointed but that's the problem with having an affectionate name. She eyed Malachai and the fox ladies friend... rubbing her neck. No, she'd have enough for today. Humming 'Sunshine', she wandered up to her room, closing the door behind her. Thinking about that face.

The pen danced, 'I like cheese. Your pastries sound interesting but I have this peanut paste. I enjoy this much more than tomatoes because I stay fuller longer. Do you stay full for long with your pastries? More so when I pair it with cow's milk. So you like it too? It is nice to have food I do not have to steal or hunt. I do not like hunting, the screams of an animal is very wearing. Friend, what is that item you were working on in the main room? It looks very interesting.'

He flushed at the rub, tail curling at his ankle in shyness. "Uh-" he started, looking down and away, quite polite. "I, er, I didn't know...but I thought that the colour and fragrance was a fair comparison to your beauty and charm."

Malacai chuckled, returning to Felix's arms, content to wait on the business in the wake of seeing his boss act like a true doofus. "This is delightful."

Sosol came downstairs, now wearing a pair of similarly tinted goggles. "Well, I'm ready when you are, dear."

Azana already had the pseudo-broom in hand. "I was born ready. A good evening flight, maybe some clues...dinner?"

"Sure."

Tyler's eyes darted across the page, keeping up with her conversation and plotting answers to questions. "Peanuts are typically more filling than tomatoes, yes, but tomatoes have health benefits that peanuts lack. Having readily available food is indeed a blessing, even if it isn't always very filling. The main room? Ah, it's a weapon we're investigating. Someone is putting them into the hands of rather evil people, and we wish to stop them."
