'I do not care for the red ones, I enjoy them green. The rubbery sensation was... comforting. The last I had one also came with an arrow in my side. Many weapons are dangerous in any hands. What is that weapon? I have seen them but no one has said what they are. If they are for evil people why is the spotted girl being sent for one?'

The hyacinth flourished once the roots reached deep enough. A small blush crossed her nose and spread quickly to her ears at the compliment. "You flatter me, Sir," she chimed in a soft laugh. "Thank you from the bottom of my heart," her glance fell to the manilla, "What else have you brought... hm?"

"I'm sorry to hear that," he frowned, checking the time for his semi-meal. "It's a pistol. A firearm. I've been on the wrong end of one before. We're hoping Honey can find us some clues while she's out and about...finding her generous donator may be an excellent start."

While there was little offered in self-authored material, lots of people had things to say about Victoria. Her sparse Facebook page was full of testimonials and design ideas for pieces. There were a few local newspaper articles, pictures from booths at art festivals. The denizens of the internet were writing this woman's biography, and yet she seemed to share so little. Was it a lack of tech-savvy? Shyness? Or was the silence even more telling?

'You were not the archer, I was very young and very foolish. A fire arm? It does not resemble an arm, nor is it on fire. Nor does it resemble a urine stream. These words are very confusing. May I ask why you seemed annoyed when you left the main room?'

Bill chewed his lip a little, nervous but delighted to have a positive reception. "Ah, well, this is a document certifying Felix Bengali's contractual bond to Malachai." he said. "I've come to deliver it...and visit, if you'll share my company."

Okay, so it seemed he would have to be even simpler about this. And then, of course, she had to ask about his annoyance. Her observational skills were respectable, but sometimes they were also a pain in the a**.

"Arm is short for armament, a big fancy word for weapon," he began. "The fire comes from its use of gunpowder for propulsion. It's...hrm, almost like a very small cannon, if you know about those. It fires a piece of metal very fast, and it can cause a lot of damage, even if you don't know what you're doing." The timer let out a small ding, and Tyler turned off the oven. However, there was always a cool down period, so he'd still be available for questioning.

"As for why I'm annoyed...well, I just get reminded now and then how different I am than my friends. It's mildly irksome, but something I can manage given a little time."

PostPosted: Wed Apr 24, 2013 9:37 pm
'I do not know what a cannon is. This weapon throws pieces of metal? I am happy it was not around when I was a child. Metal is not a comfortable thing to be pierced by or to be left unattended.' There were vague memories of lead tipped arrowheads but that- was very far away.
The pen paused, Kyou shifted slightly at his words, 'Irksome? What an odd word. You should speak louder if you wish to be heard. Perhaps they had not heard you over the candy. But would you truly want them to be the same as you? Or you the same as them? If we were all the same I may have had an easier past and understand everything more clearly but- I do not think it would be as enjoyable. Getting to watch them change, or see the changes in myself.' Before I am no longer here.
Pausing, green eye closing, 'Pardon me, I am carrying on as your meal waits. I will return to the rafters.' And after grabbing a gallon of milk, the observer did exactly that.

Smiling brightly, "I would be honored and delighted to do so." Waving a hand towards the alpha Bengali and Malachai, "Please tend to your business while I find a vase for your thoughtful gift, I will join you thereafter." Flowers liked water, maybe she could find a glass cup or vase.

"...I admire your insight," Tyler grinned. "Of course I don't want them to be the same. Yes, things get lost in translation, but ultimately, we all have our roles to play." As she left, he removed the cookie sheet and began serving himself part of the rolls. The rest, naturally, were for Max. This wasn't his mission...he was just consulting. Hell, he didn't even know what this woman looked like.

But he knew where one could get ill-gotten gains. Maybe these culprits had set up shop there...? He couldn't go in unprepared, though. Too risky. He'd need Max's intel.

Bill coughed slightly, shuffling a hoof shyly. "Thank you, my lady...my business shall be conducted presently."

From outside, there was a yelp of dismay at the state of the hyacinth bed.

That... sounded like Adam. She tilted her head to the side, looked at the clod of dirt that had fallen from the roots... where had Bill gotten the flower? Pressing her lips together, she went outside. Please, please, please don't let that be for this.

Tyler walked out with two plates full of pizza rolls, surveying the budding demonic romance with only passing interest as he headed upstairs. A certain information miner needed food badly.

As the plate approached, she could smell it. Being extremely hungry had a way of pushing anything food related to the top of the priority list. It was getting hard to focus until he knocked at the door.

"Ya oughta know better than that by now. Get in here, Ty!" She called from her little perch.

Meanwhile, in the underbelly of the couch, there was a rustling of motion and chirps. The chibis were awake, and busy.
PostPosted: Tue Apr 30, 2013 4:02 pm
"Do you have any idea how hard it is to open these doors with your hands full?" Tyler griped, setting down the hot plate before starting to devour his own.

"Aw, quit yer bitchin', Ty! I got stuff for ya! Good stuff! An' for dinner, you get the inside scoop!" Max beamed, popping a pizza roll and bringing up a few documents. "For example, didya know Vicky here is actually registered with the GMO? Not a personnel type, just registered as a Talent! Low-level kinetic Chalice, it says, but it doesn't go into much detail. But yeah, she opened this jewelry store, and it's advertised mostly by word of mouth. Great stuff, apparently...from the pictures I've seen."

Tyler nodded, swallowing his bite. "Alright...so, she's a Chalice with a knack for jewelry. But something tells me you're not done yet."

"Nope! Here's the creepy part," she said, bringing up things. "She's like a ghost online, Ty. Everything on her's coming from other people. Her Facebook profile is a skeleton, her E-mail is bare-bones, and her store doesn't even have a website! There's a giant Vicky-sized hole in this whole story. Oh! And there's some police report about someone breaking into her jewelry store. Nothing taken, door still locked."

"Might've been Honey," Tyler thought after a moment. She did seem a little skittish after coming back.

"I thought the same thing!" Max beamed, almost forgetting about the food until her stomach rumbled. "But yeah...the cop who took the report hasn't been able to contact Vicky at all. He even dropped by the house but found no one there. Mail's collected, yard's trimmed, but no sign of her after trying for multiple days."

"Not even going home...how the hell did Honey run into her on the street, then? That doesn't make sense...if you're in hiding, you're in hiding. If you're out and about, then you're out. Why is it like she's doing both?" Ty chewed it over, but no answers were coming, and it was starting to really aggravate him.

As the noise had died down, Kiran began to descend the stairs with caution. He was weary and worn, bad critiques and terrible dreams had kept him nearing the edge of his limited sanity- but oh how he'd gotten so much writing done. That's all they cared about anyways, the writing. He swallowed, bowing his head at the sight of others and dipped into the kitchen.

Kyou watched with interest. Everyone was so busy, it was nice to see such life about the inn. Some days were so dull. Ah there goes the long eared man into the kitchen. Kyou wondered why there were always strange mutterings coming from that room but never asked. The last Kyou wanted was to be the cause of one of his fits. Jar of peanut paste and gallon of milk empty, the mushishi crossed long legs and took long draws of medicine. The smoke twirling around posts and to windows.

The writer paused, turning his head and ears twitching. He knew what voices those were, chibi heartbeats were complex things. The beats were maddening and amusing. He would never admit it, but he'd written several pages base on the rhythm of the chibi who haunted his room. He cleared his throat, producing two golden candies from his vest pocket, musing, "I w-wond-der w-what I am t-t-t-to d-do w-with these sw-weets. If on...nly I kn-new som-meon...ne w-who w-woul-ld w-wan..t t-them."

Eyes closed, chin against the rest, Honey began to play Paganini caprice no. 9.
