[RP] The Inn of Peace - IoP (Open to all)

Zippo, startled by the shift, flared his wee feathers. "Huzzawa!" he said, looking about. "Hau yuu duzat?"

Charlotte hummed at the gate's retreat outside, then shrugged, plopping down to finally begin her breakfast. "He'll be back, Violet, don't worry! He's just out sealing the thingers; nothing to worry about."

Gren nodded in agreement, sipping his morning coffee. "All part of adjusting."

"That would be a trade secret," Orrin chuckled, heading down the stairs. "Which means I can't tell you. But it was fun, wasn't it?" He gazed across the room to breakfast, and to a certain lovely chaos lady and chibi-wrangler. "Ah, Charlotte...eloquent as always in your messengers."

"Oh...alright," Violet was a little embarrassed, going back to her drawings. "I just know...I caused a lot of trouble for a bit..."

Tyler knocked on Azana's door, being let in and flipping the coin to her as he took a seat. "I assume you've seen it?"

"Yeah...Max just told me Vi thinks it's an Alice reference. The rabbit and the looking glass," Azana sighed. "We've got a few leads, but someone's covering their tracks pretty well."

"And someone else is giving us some pretty breadcrumbs. That coin was made from an identical steel to those contraband pistols. She knows where it's coming from, and that might be why she's not exactly spotlighting herself," Tyler answered. "I've found quite a few large metal shipments from the manufacturer of this steel, but nothing pointing to an operation. The folks behind this have to have a front of some sort. At least, though...here's a list of some businesses to look into."

"Thanks," Azana grinned, though it faded after a bit. "...are you alright, Ty?"

"Yeah," Tyler answered vacantly, a half-hearted response. "You know me...when your mind runs a mile a minute, being alone with your thoughts too long can be a little daunting."

"Gren and Sol are downstairs...I know you get along with them pretty well. Maybe they can help."

"What can I say? He gets the job done fast." grinned the curlytop, dismounting her seat to deliver a kiss and hug to her sweetheart. "Morning, sweetie! Gren made French toast! Come and have some; he zested it with orange!"

Gren himself rolled his eyes with a grin and plated some for Orrin. "I don't think so, not quite so much. Seems like he gets that a lot, anyhow. I think he was relieved about not having anyone scream."

Zippo hopped from Orrin's shoulder to investigate Violet's art, plopping down at the top of the page. "Hai!"

Sam was sound asleep on a couch, cushions are much nicer than rocks and dirt.

Honey went to her room, closed the door and took up her violin. A deep breath, slow exhale and she began to play.

Orrin smiled, bending down a little to receive the hug and the kiss. Height differences were only a mild inconvenience. Hearing Gren's explanation, he quirked an eyebrow. "So, what did I miss in my nap...?"

"Yeah...at least I didn't do that," Violet chuckled, looking to Zippo as he landed at the top of the paper. "Hello, Zippo...want me to draw you again?"

Tyler came downstairs relatively listlessly, though he did perk up at the smell of breakfast. It was getting to be rare when someone cooked for the whole Inn. Gren had been pretty busy, Zulma was never around anymore...Sol did so occasionally. He waved, loading up a plate of his own and taking a seat.

"A man possessed in a symbiotic relationship with a demon...think of D and his hand." explained the Innkeep, serving the karma peddler his breakfast.

Charlotte nodded, keeping the hug a bit longer. She'd missed her sweetheart. "It's nothing worse, either. Where were you?"

Zippo nodded eyes bright. "Ya ya ya ya! Dura mii!"

"Ohmigod, I'm so glad I wasn't the only one!" Max laughed. "But this guy's a lot less broody, doncha think?" Her plate was clean, and she popped up to put it in the kitchen to wash.

"Of course," Violet grinned, looking to him for a moment before starting the basic frame. "You'll be adorable, I'm certain..."

Orrin patted his pocket when she pulled away. "Doing a little organizing. Dazzled the chibi by showing him my shortcut out, in fact. The problem with this coat is that stuff is always being added...sometimes subtracted. It's strange, but rarely people will find what they've lost."

Tyler ate in silence, just taking in the happenings in the main room. A glass of limeade came to rest near him, one doubtlessly placed there by the barkeep. He glanced up to the shaded man and nodded his thanks.

How the hell are you so expressive while wearing shades...? He thought, shaking his head.

Years of practice, Sol answered, cleaning out a few shakers for later. Something's troubling you.

You could say that, he answered. I'd like a little breakfast before baring my soul, if you don't mind.

Certainly, he answered hesitantly. He hadn't seen Tyler this defensive in a while...

A sudden stop to Honey's playing and a series of swears. The door to her room pop opens, she's heading out with gloves donned and hoodie cap up.

Kiran slowly descends the stairs, blinking a few times as he attempts to wear sleep from his form.

"Far less broody, and with way fewer hangups." chuckled Gren, adding a glass of orange juice for Orrin's enjoyment, setting a spare aside for Charlotte. "Hard to say if he's bringing the same drama with him, but we'll see, huh?"

"Ai wiiru!" cheered the chibi, wiggling his toes and adopting an adorable stance. "Uwah~!"

"You have a shortcut out?" she hummed, eying his pocket. "I'll have to see that sometime...need help organizing again, love?"

(Sorry for the absence, folks. Life's been giving me one on the jaw.)

"Here's hopin' he sticks around...I think he's neat," Max beamed, throwing down the rest of her juice and letting out the sigh of thirst-quenching contentment.

"That's perfect! Hold it just for a moment..." Violet took it all in, her pencil almost seeming to move on its own. "Okay...alright...I can capture this..."

"I think I've got a relatively good handle on it. Business has been a bit quiet, so it gives me time to rest and to organize," Orrin grinned. "I still wouldn't mind your company, clearly." He finally got to breakfast. Orange-zested toast, orange juice...summertime, and the living was indeed easy.

Not for everyone, though. Tyler had hungrily demolished one piece and was on his second. I've just got a lot on my mind, Sol. Between this case, my own errant thoughts, and a general lack of distraction from the previous two...

...do you miss them, Tyler? Sosol asked out of the blue. I do.

A little, he confessed. Chris, Stacy, Zulma...hell, I even miss MacPere. Not that you guys are bad company...maybe I just need to go on another run. I don't need anything, but it could help take my mind off things.

Or, perhaps, a night on the town like normal folk... Sosol offered an alternative. I seem to recall you having an excellent time whenever such things happen.

Kiran acquired hot tea, plain toast and an apple. He bowed his head in recognition to any glance his way as he moved to an empty table and settled. New heartbeats today.

"I don't doubt that he will...his sort might come and go, but they gravitate to the places where nobody screams when they're used to rejection." said Gren, making his own plate at last and getting some juice. "Peace is a compelling thing when you're not used to it...like the sound of silence after a concert."

"Or the sight of green after a long winter!" added Charlotte, nodding as she ate more of her breakfast."Still, naw, honey! I like helping you sort; you let me play dress-up and go cloth-diving while we work. I'd be glad to join you!"

ZIppo held his pose perfectly, like a bisque doll.

The quiet and tranquility of the Inn was suddenly disrupted by a loud crash as two fast-moving figures crashed through the roof and landed in the middle of their often vacated bedroom. One was clad in red and gold armor and the other was a bundle of golden feathers topped by aviator goggles.

They sat up and took in their surroundings. "See? I told you we would land in our room. My calculations were perfect," stated the armored one. His avian comrade squawked something in response, sounding rather irate as he dusted himself off and headed towards the kitchen.

Chris (aka Knightsoul or simply Knight) and Nate had returned.

"I think so," Violet nodded, before beaming at Zippo. "Alright...now for the shading...you're doing great, Zippo!"

"Then consider it a date...there's a few new things I want to show you," Orrin grinned softly, only giving a passing glance upward at the crash.

The reaction was a bit more exaggerated with Tyler. Having been focused on his conversation with Sosol, the crash came as an unexpected and loud distraction. It was then that he noticed the creeping smile on Sosol's face.

"Why're you--that son of a b***h," Tyler let out a low rumble of a chuckle. "You'd think he was listening in on me."

While Chris and Nate made their usual colorful entrance, Crystal and Stacy settled for more conventional methods. The ladies entered the Inn after stopping to notice the new 'skylight' the boys had put in on arrival. "Sometimes, Crys, I don't know why you married him."

"What can I say, Stacy? He makes me laugh."

"Whatever works for you?" Stacy replied. She looked around the room and stopped when her eyes landed on Tyler. It had been a while since she had seen him and she couldn't shake those familiar feelings she got from looking at him.
