"It is no trouble," Kristen grinned, resting a warm hand on her shoulder. "I'm just glad you are well once more...and that I could help."

She rested her cheek against the hand, it felt good- warm to her cold. "...May I 'ave some water?"

Chris stormed into the kitchen, prepared to give Nate a piece of his mind. However, as he entered the kitchen and opened his mouth to stop screaming, he walked right into Nate's outstretched spoon in search of a taste tester. Before he could think about it, he swallowed.

A moment later, he came bolting back out of the kitchen and charged straight for the showers.

Violet set the cornbread on the counter to cool, just in time to see Chris taste-test Nate's nuclear chili. As he dashed off, she couldn't help herself and broke into a giggle fit.

"No way in hell am I eating that," Elizabeth muttered, watching him run off.

"Well, Ty'll hafta cook for ya...I'm almost done compiling this thing...lotsa layers and a bit of encryption to go." Max stood and stretched. "An' here I thought that was gonna be hard..."

"Of course," Kristen reached out her free hand, catching a glass of water from Sol as he hesitated to send Chris one. He was just too quick, apparently. "Here...drink as much as you need..."

She took her gloves off, tucking them in her hoodie pocket before accepting the glass. Why did she feel guilty... she's too ill to feel guilty. Reaching out for the glass, she paused, intaking air in a sharp hiss."Hnng."

Kiran turned his head, looking directly to the cockney girl, there's been a skip. He stands up and walks over to the two women, both ears bouncing to heartbeats. "Asp-pir-rin!"

Bright lightning whipping through her head, eyes closing- no, no, no. Deep breath, I'm fine, I'm fine- it's okay, just fear, I'm fine, I'm fine. The internal chant is instant and steeling, these aftershocks aren't uncommon but each time... each time is worse than being speared, I'm fine, I'm finethan giving birth.

Pawing at her pockets, working her jaw and trying to focus on breathing as her tremor grows. It's okay, just fearShe pulled the mirrored case out of her pocket, eyes partially open it appears the fish are swimming, and opened it. There's only a few left. I'm fine, I'm fine Plucking one out of the white pills out and putting it under her tongue. Closing it, leaning back, she grit her teeth as her chest tightened.

"Kiran?" Kristen asked in question before picking up on it herself. She watched Honey fumble for a white pill, and she wasn't entirely sure it was working. "Brother! Your cloak!" She called, holding up a pair of fingers that soon had a card slid between them.

"Forgive me, Kiran. Adeat!" The card burst into a grey cloak, one she draped herself and Honey within. "Please hold on, Honey. I shall take you to medical treatment." With the hood thrown up, the two vanished into thin air, Kristen propelling them toward the hospital on pure will.

Azana could hardly get a word in before Kristen left. "What the hell was that all about? I knew Honey was sick, but didn't we--?"

"Kristen believes Honey's been staving off cardiac arrest...but now it's not working. She needs medical intervention," Sol explained, clearly worried but not really able to do much at this point. "She'll get there faster this way than calling an ambulance."

"Dude, that sucks..." Max muttered sadly as the code compiled. Honey wasn't that old, though...did she have a weak heart?

Emerging from the now-clean kitchen, having listened carefully, Gren looked over Elizabeth carefully in the way he was prone to when truly judging a character. "Hm." Sighing at the news of Honey, he swallowed his concern and took to sorting bottles for inventory.

Zippo, meanwhile, was in the mood for geniality, trotting right up to Elizabeth and sitting right before her. "HAI REIDII!"

Charlotte, delighted, rolled about in the stray pile of clothes deep within the pocket before donning a costume admiral's coat.

"...hi...?" Elizabeth replied, a little off-guard around the tiny...was it supposed to be a raptor? She had too much on her mind, but this wasn't a bad distraction. It was friendlier than a lot of other people in the place at the moment, at least.

"Don't worry," Sosol grinned to Gren as he helped around the bar. "Kristen took my cloak...with her will power, they're already there. Honey will be well."

Max watched the coding compile the floor plan and sighed. Honey's issues brought up some bad memories...

"Charlotte, my love, I am a fool," Orrin greeted with a smile, approaching the pile of clothing he could sense her in. "And that is a lovely coat on you."

Zippo smiled up brightly, amber-gold eyes shining with adorable joy. "Huu yuu?"

Gren smiled slightly, sighing through his nose. "I guess...but she's got a kid, and I'd hate to see anything happen to them."

"Why's that, darling?" she asked, popping out, wearing an unflattering bonnet decked with sunflowers to match the coat. "Granted, you're courting me, but that's just a sign of taste, not utter barminess."
PostPosted: Sun Aug 04, 2013 9:58 pm
"Elizabeth," she answered. "Who you--erm, who are you?"

"I understand...I am worried, too. But I also believe in Kristen, and in the doctors of our local hospital. They stabilized James. They brought Eli back from the brink...I think they can help Honey's heart." Sosol grinned, even through the bad memories.

"I had a revelation while I came up here to join you," Orrin answered, pulling out a chair and having a seat. "It had bothered me, about Malachai's strange karmic balance...and now I know why. I completely forgot the currency exchange, since it had been so long since I worked with a demon. They don't trade in karma, like humans..."

"Ziipo!" announced the chibi happily, extending a clawed foot for the shaking. "Yuu gat puritii heiya!"

He chuckled darkly. "Keep in mind that we're in a time I find a mite archaiac...no offense meant, of course. Just a difference in perspective. I read about how prevalent heart issues were these days."

"Well, why indeed would they? They'd be on a different grading scale entirely, in terms of what was right for them, hm?"
she replied, grinning, flopping onto her back to look him over upside-down. "What do they use, then, if not Karma?"
PostPosted: Mon Aug 05, 2013 9:18 am
"Zeepo?" Elizabeth blinked, looking down at the clawed foot. He can't be serious...am I supposed to shake that? She thought skeptically, the whole thing ridiculous. Ah, just humor the damn thing. Seems nice enough.

"Thanks," she replied, careful to dodge the claw as she gave it a light shake.

Max giggled a little at Elizabeth's awkward reaction to the chibi. "Ya get used ta 'em...and it's Zippo. Go ahead, little guy! Show off!"

"That's true...it's a fact that's easy to forget sometimes," Sosol mentioned, humming in thought. "...that'd make your time kind of limited here, right...? Can't be living down here while you're being born on Mars..." Granted, he and Azana would be middle-aged by then, but it'd still be hard to say goodbye. And what about Eli...? He'd be devastated, or at least he assumed. He hadn't seen much of the redhead in what was edging on over a year.

"Demons, and angels, too, for fairness, use the dharma scale. It doesn't work on terms of kindness or morality, but on pure duty, on how much of a proper angel or demon they're being. In Malachai's case, that would be making contracts, seducing people, things like that. There's an exchange rate from dharma to karma that I didn't factor in...not that he's asked me for much lately, anyway." Orrin explained as he folded some clothes.

At the disappearance of the two, Kiran took in a gasp of air and wheezed. He produced his inhaler and walked to the far side of the room, away from that residue. He gathered his materials and retreated upstairs to his room. There's enough fuss going on.

Sam wasn't honestly sure what to make of the sudden bought of noise that brought her to consciousness. Blinking, what year was it? She couldn't have been asleep for too long, same peopl- no some new people. Straightening her dress and gloves, yawning softly, she jotted down a few notes into her journal. It's nice here. You can feel the life teeming just on entering... Maybe this is the next step.

"Ya, ya! Ziipo!" cheered the chibi, nodding, shaking her hand with his foot, spreading his toes to show off his talons. "Looka ma fiitsu! An mai teiru!" He held up his tail, showing off the bright blue feathers. "Innit niit?"

"That's in about 60 years." Gren laughed warmly. "Besides...by now, there's something rather important that happened in the timeline I'm from that hasn't here, so I'm more inclined to this think is a parallel world. No need to worry about overlap."

"Oh hoh!"
Charlotte grinned, flopping onto her belly once more, chin propped in her palms. "Does that mean I ought to be ranked on dharma too, and you as well?"

Sitting up, she began folding as well to be helpful. "We should test him again anyhow. I'm curious now, and besides, since when has he made demands about the place, especially from you or I? He knows very well what we're capable of, after all, and even if we're not looking to eat him, there's always that dose of uncertainty in his mind. He's not raised to make demands of his superiors."

"Gotta admit, I haven't seen a raptor outside a museum, so yeah...you're pretty neat," she chuckled. A tiny showboater, but why Zippo...? Was he fast?

Elizabeth still looked a little puzzled, so Max egged her on a bit. "Give him a penny. You won't regret it." She winked, gasping lightly as the code fully compiled. "One full-on floor plan...I hope Superdude's throat isn't charred..."

"A parallel world...it is possible," Sosol nodded. "Some say that any action taken can splinter off a timeline, and all the help you've been here may do so. At the very least, it hasn't hampered your ability to return home..."

"I suppose that is the case...I don't have a lot of time around agents of Chaos such as yourself. Not until recently, at least. I would be happy to give Malachai a fair test." He grinned, though curiosity was burning at him. Out of all the years...there was one mystery that remained to him.

"I wonder...what's my balance...?"
