[RP] The Inn of Peace - IoP (Open to all)

"Shaken, but relatively unharmed," Victoria answered, wide eyes blinking as she was taken aback. "How...does everyone know of me...? I didn't expect to be infamous already." She fumbled for her drink, taking a long, slow sip to control her composure. There was a lot she didn't know, obviously.  

[Gren_Eckener]

"Weeeell...it's not so much we know of you, that we know about the weapons ring." said Mal helpfully.

Remy rolled his eyes and groaned. "Thanks, Mal. That's very reassuring."

"What? it's true, isn't it?"

"Mal, all you know is the mutterings from the bar."

"Same as you, featherbrain. You only went along cause Max asked."  

[Azana Brown]

"What...?!" Victoria squeaked before coughing, some of the cucumber water splashing down her windpipe. "Well, that would explain how you found me, I guess, but..." She shook her head. They didn't report it to the authorities? Then again, wouldn't she have simply been arrested?

"...now what, then...? It's kind of obvious you don't want in on the market if you're saving me. Are you wanting to put him out of business?"

"Pretty much." Remy hummed, shrugging. "At least make him cut this nonsense out, I guess. I'm actually peripheral to this process...As much as I hate to say it, Mal's right. I'm not as deep into this as others, and can't claim that I'm competent on the details. I'm the muscle, frankly."  

[Azana Brown]

"Oh..." Victoria's gaze slipped downward to the slice of cucumber in her water. "Thank you regardless, Remy. While most of what Mr. Doe said is true, his blackmail must cease. And...Malachai? Thank you for welcoming me. I shouldn't be such a rude guest."  

[Gren_Eckener]

Remy hummed, looking somewhere between sheepish and shameful. "We could have done better, I think...I admit, we didn't do that graceful a job. Very messy, very ugly...I'm sorry for those guys."

"What'd you expect chibis to do?" hummed Malachai. "Oh, no, don't worry, Miss Victoria! You're doing really well, compared to some...you haven't smacked me or anything!" he grinned, having forgotten to hide his fangs.

"You are forgiven, Remy...terrifying as they were." She shuddered lightly and covered it in more cucumber. "It was successful, even if not very elegant." She paused at Malachai's reassurance, fanged smile yielding a confused look from her. Fangs weren't surprising, given the prevalence of vampires and werewolves, but--

"Why would I smack you?" She asked him after a moment's thought. She had run over the alternatives in her head, but couldn't think of why they'd find it necessary.  

[Gren_Eckener]

"Yeah, well...we were warned about them, but I guess I wasn't taking them seriously enough." he hummed, sipping his nectar. "All I've ever seen them do is cute things, after all."

Malachai chuckled nervously, backing up slightly. "Um...I think you've had enough excitement today. I don't know if you want any more, like that."  

[Zulma san]

Zulma had waved to Malachai when she recognized him and to Remy as well. They were some new faces and she smiled kindly before returning to her discussion with Adam.

Drinking her tea, she was careful not to intrude in others' discussion, enjoying simply being back at the Inn for a while.

((I was going to hold off, but you're welcome, Zulma.))

There came a laughter from the other side of the door, Tyler shaking his head as he strolled into the Inn. "The stories alone are worth--" He stopped not too far inside the door, not sure what to react to first. Two women were there that he simply was not expecting. Victoria he only recognized from the few pictures shared...a girl of silver and grey, supposedly missing, sitting across from Remy and Malachai.

Then there was Zulma. What else could he say about that, really?

"...hi," he muttered at last, surprised, a little confused, but not even close to shaken from his good mood.

"I agree," she nodded, taking a long sip. "You are not of much concern right now." She glanced up to the door, cautiously glaring at the newcomer until his attention went elsewhere. To the Innkeeper. A regular. She visibly relaxed, assuming the others knew him, too.

She recognized his voice even before he passed the door. She nose-dived into her tea, wondering a moment how he would react after seeing her again after so long and virtually no news on her part. Adam had not told her anything about Tyler so she had no clue how he was doing.

When the door opened though, she had to spin slowly on her chair to see him and great him with a genuine smile. Her heart was racing a little faster. At his greeting, there was a pause then she stood up. She had embraced Adam, she would embrace Tyler too!
"Hello Tyler." she said softly as she crossed the room and went to hug him. "It has been a while." she apologized.

((I just meant that the GMO crew wasn't going to come back yet. But why not?!))

He didn't even have to think about it, which was good, because there was enough buzzing through his slightly buzzed thoughts. His arms opened up to her, and the embrace brought back faint memories of warm, summer days...and the jarring shock of inadvertent time travel. Those could have stayed away.

"It has, but that's how it goes, isn't it?" He answered, somehow reassuring her that it was fine. "You just missed the GMO testing cycle, though; I could've used one more in the cheering section."

"GMO...?" Victoria blinked. So that was how...were they still keeping tabs on her? She registered years ago...she never signed up as personnel.

((Hahaha, testing's over then? wink ))

Zulma smiled and squeezed him tighter before pulling back. "It seems so." she answered.
She nodded slowly. "Adam just mentioned that. Oh? It did not go as well as you hoped?" she asked casually as if they had met only days before.
If she had feared that there would be some kind of uneasiness between them, his ways immediately brought her back into the sway of things without after thoughts.
She did not hear Victoria who apparently knew about the GMO.

"It went well enough...I only had a couple field agent tests to perform, since I kind of help write the SITs," he chuckled. "I now understand why Az practices so much for the FAST. Taylor's improvements made things interesting, too..." He glanced past her to her still-steaming tea.

"Don't want that to get cold." He walked past her, taking a seat at the table. He'd talk with her there...a bit less awkward, either way. He'd ask about Victoria later.

((Yeah, they were celebrating it being all over. And now they're all old enough to celebrate together. Kristen turned 21 last month...I calculated a few days ago.))

Zulma had a soft chuckle, she wasn't surprised at all that he wrote part of the tests himself. "I'm glad that James could make it a little bit of a 'challenge' for you."
She turned her head, following his gaze to her tea. "Oh? Thanks." She followed him to seat next to him. "How long have the tests been running?" she asked before taking a sip of her beverage.
