It really hadn't taken Brandy long to figure out that she had been insulted. Ordinarily she would have responded in kind, but on this occasion it occurred to her that she couldn't raise a fuss about it without contradicting her earlier statement about preferring Nate. There were other things to consider, and it seemed that it might be helpful if she and Helen were to join forces. Brandy promptly followed after Helen, and when she caught up to Helen, she said, "I should warn you that the b***h of a Goth girl that Sofia is hanging out with these days is going to cause you trouble. I'm thinking that we can work out a deal. I'll keep Goth Girl busy, and you'll do something for me in return." If anyone was observing Brandy and Helen, they might think that they were witnessing a reversal of some kind. Brandy never chased after anyone to ask for anything. She gave the orders and expected others to follow them. While that worked with most everyone else, Brandy was smart enough to realize that Helen wasn't going to lift a finger on Brandy's behalf if she didn't feel like it.

This honestly caught her attention. Helen turned and listened to Brandy and gave a nod to indicate that she would listen but she did ask. "And what would you want in return?" She may or may not be willing to team up with Brandy depending on what she wanted in return. If it was doable then she would agree to join forces. She truly wished to eliminate Sofia from Alex's life as well as coming to the school any more. She was a b***h after all.

To tell the truth, Brandy hadn't thought that far ahead yet. Having nothing in particular to ask for at the moment, she replied, "Well... ah... let's just say that you'll help me if some b***h tries to steal Nate from me." That seemed to be a reasonable thing to ask, and a likely possibility. Alex had been the starting quarterback when Sofia had stolen him, and now that Nate was the starting quarterback, it stood to reason that some other girl might decide to move in on him.

"Very well, so long as you keep that goth away from me then i'll help you out though even her little friend wouldn't do much to stop me. I've dealt with the likes of her plenty of times. Now...I'm heading to class, i'll see you tomorrow." And with that she turned and left. She didn't want to go to class but Brandy still annoyed her so she figured class could be some what decent.

Alex went to football practice that day, and was a little surprised to see Debra loitering about for some reason. Once practice was over with, Debra motioned for him to follow her as she curtly said, "Let's go." That tipped him off to the fact that Debra was driving Sofia's car again, which raised, in turn, a very important question. "Where's Sophia?" he asked, "Is she at band practice?" Instead of answering right away, Debra waited until they were in the relative privacy of the car before she replied, "OK, I'm going to tell you this because I think that you deserve to know, but if you tell Sofia that I told you, I will b***h slap you! Got it?" Feeling more amused than threatened, Alex merely smiled and replied, "Got it!" Debra then told him about the condition that Sofia had been in when Debra had found her in the bathroom after lunch, and she made it clear that she believed that Brandy and Helen were responsible. There was no need to convince Alex that such was the case. In return, he told Debra about where he had wanted to stick his crutch when he had seen the faked picture that Brandy had tried to spread. "You can still do it. I'll hold her down for you," Debra promptly volunteered. "That's just what my friend Greg offered to do. Maybe you two could work together." After a moment of thought, Debra shook her head and replied, "No, I don't think so. And if this is an attempt to hook me up with your friend, forget about it!" By the time that they reached Alex and Sophia's apartment, Alex had decided to tell Sofia that Debra had told him that Sofia hadn't been feeling well. As could be expected, Debra went up to the apartment to check on Sofia. "Sofia, we're here!" Alex declared as he walked in the front door.

The apartment remained eerily silent for a moment and even Bo hadn't shown up as he usually did. But after a moment Bo came running up to them cheery as always. Sofia soon came as well as she walked out of the kitchen smiling at them, "Hey, I made some snacks if you two are hungry." She smiled and filled Bo's bowl with food before going back in the kitchen. It would seem as if nothing ever really happened and she seemed to be perfectly normal.

Deciding to stick with his plan, Alex replied, "Sounds great! I'm glad to see that you're feeling alright. Debra told me that you were feeling a bit iffy right after lunch, and I was worried that your cold was coming back."

"Yes, that cold was really bad so I'm glad I didn't get sick either," She replied as she smiled and turned around, going back into the kitchen. She poured some chips in a bowl and set it on the table so that they could pick at it while eating the sandwiches she made them while filling two cups with strawberry lemonade. She then left the kitchen to change in more comfortable clothes before coming back out with a leash in hand.

"I'm going to go take Bo for a walk, i'll be back," For a moment it would seem that she was trying to avoid them. Whistling for Bo she walked out, clipped the leash on him and went off for awhile.

Right after Sofia had left, Alex asked Debra, "Is it just me, or is Sofia trying to avoid us for some reason?" After considering the question for a moment, Debra shrugged and replied, "Maybe. I'm not sure how we're going to find out, though." After another moment, she suggested, "I might be able to find out if I can talk to her in private. You'll need to keep yourself busy with something else, since you aren't supposed to know about what happened after lunch." While taking his previous inattentive behavior into account, Alex nodded and replied, "I can do that."

By now Sofia should have been home since she normally spent time walking Bo for an hour or so but the time was ticking and two hours already passed. The sun was setting and there was no sign of her whatsoever. Lucky enough she had taken her cellphone with her but there was no calls from her. The feeling in the air wasn't exactly a good feeling.

Once Alex and Debra had finished eating, although they had saved Sofia's share for her, they went to watch TV in the living room. As time went by, though, Alex became concerned because Sofia usually wasn't gone that long. Finally he grabbed his cell phone and announced, "I'm going to call her to make sure that everything's alright." He had the feeling that things weren't alright because if things were alright, Sofia would have been back home by now.

Sofia picked up and she sounded a bit out of breath, "Hello?" She glanced around before crossing the street, barely paying attention to the phone though she did hear Alex asking where she was and if anything was wrong. Sofia sat down on a bench and sighed heavily before explaining to him that Bo had run off and she couldn't find him and she was worried something bad happened to him. Knowing that Alex would offer to help search for him she let him know it was best he stay home in case Bo showed up on his own and also it was best he not walk around so much. She also asked him to call any shelters around the area in case they found Bo since they did live close to at least two shelters so perhaps someone had found him.

Hanging up she continued to search for him, whistling and calling out for him.

"Bo got loose somehow and now Sofia can't find him," Alex told Debra when he hung up the phone, "She wants me to stay here just in case Bo comes home on his own, and she wants me to call around the animal shelters, just in case he was picked up by one of them." While nodding in agreement, Debra went to the door as she replied,"That's a good idea. While you are doing that, I'm going out to help Sofia look for Bo." Debra was helping because she was concerned about Bo, and because that's what friends were for. She was certain that between the three of them, they would be able to find Bo again. On the down side, Debra wasn't certain about where she should start looking, since she didn't know which direction that Sofia and Bo had gone in or where Sofia was already looking. Making a guess, Debra headed in the direction of the park where Bo had met that female German shepherd. Meanwhile Alex was calling the animal shelters to find out if Bo was at one of them.

Bo had yet to turn up and the sun began to set but Sofia continued searching for him, looking at all the places Bo liked to go to. He had only run away from her once but that was when he was a lot smaller and when she had barely found him. She just knew that something bad happened because he would have at least found her himself or he would have gone home which meant that Alex would have called her. With a heavy sigh she found herself at the end of the park where a fence separated it and the woods that happened to be at the edge of the city. They didn't live right in the middle of the city after all. As she walked along the link face she noticed a hole under it, big enough for dogs or any animal to squeeze under it and there was a chance that Bo could have done so. Biting her lip she wasn't sure if she should head back to have them help her but in the end she climbed the fence and began calling out for him. The darker it got she had to pull her phone out and use the flash light app she happened to have. She wouldn't have much time with it since the battery on her phone was half way already.

"Bo!" She called out, desperate and on the verge of crying because she didn't want to leave him lost and alone at night. The sun finally set and she was further in the forest until she came across a ditch. The ditch seemed to stretch for miles and there was no way she had time to try and find a way around it. Just as she turned to head back a faint whimper caught her attention. Turning around and kneeling down she pointed the light down though it didn't light up the area much she could dimly see the rocks and leaves in the ditch. It had to be around ten feet down maybe 12 and the light caught a pair of eyes and even though the eyes looked creepy she knew that it was Bo. Some how he had fallen down and now he was trapped and possibly injured. In a panic she tried to find a way down but it would seem that the only way down was to climb and even then it would be dangerous since it was not sure if the rocks and dirt was sturdy. Nonetheless she put her phone between her teeth so that the light was face down and illuminating the wall as she began to climb down almost falling every now and then whenever she grasped a rock or dirt that crumbled within her grasp.

Right when she had about just three feet to do her foot slipped and she was unable to grab anything so she fell down but the leaves broke her fall though there was no denying the pain she felt on her arms and she grabbed her phone to see all the scraps and some cuts on her arms that she got from landing on some rocks. Having no time to fully asses any of her injuries she rushed over to where she saw Bo and was glad it really had been him though by the look of it he looked very hurt. Gently touching him she realized that he had a broken leg and a stick had slightly impaled his side. It had been far too difficult for her to climb down so she knew it would be harder for her to climb up with Bo and maybe just herself. She quickly dialed the phone trying to get Alex though the signal was very weak so she left Bo for a moment as she walked down the trench, careful not to step on any snakes etc. until at last she got through. Her phone was about to die any second so when Alex picked up she didn't allow him to speak as she began to explain to him the situation. She told him the name of the part and how far in she was in the forest and she told him the condition Bo was in. Before she could tell him to call for help her phone died.

"s**t.." Putting her phone back in her pocket she went back to Bo and sat down, leaning against the wall and putting him on her lap on his side that was okay. She knew pulling out the stick would be a bad idea so she just hoped someone would come get them soon. It was a cold night and it was worse down in the trench. Shivering (since she just wore a tank top and her shorts she normally wore when jogging. Bo kept her legs and lap warm but her upper half would have to endure the chilly air but she would handle it.

"Hello? Hello?," Alex inquired when Sofia's voice abruptly stopped, and since he didn't get an answer, he called her back. Of course all that he got was a message that her phone wasn't available at the moment, which suggested that her battery had died, since she wouldn't have turned it off at a time like this. Sofia hadn't said anything about calling for help, but that was pretty obvious. If Sofia had been hurt, Alex would have called 911, but he didn't know if the emergency service will respond for a dog. Someone had to go out and find Sofia and Bo, and that person had to be someone reliable. Alex decided to call his father. As luck would have it, his father answered the phone. After Alex had explained the situation to him and repeated the location that Sofia had given to him, his father said, "I'll go straight there and see how I can help. At the very least I should be able to get Bo to a vet." "Thanks, Dad! I appreciate it, and Sofia appreciates it!" Alex said in return. It seemed that he had barely hung up the phone when Debra came back in the apartment and said, "You know, it has occurred to me that it's kind of a waste for me to be looking on foot when I can be looking in Sofia's car." "I have some good news and some bad news," Alex said to her, and he explained the situation. "My father is going to help," he added, "But I want to go as well. There must be some way that I can help." There was also the fact that he didn't want to just sit in the apartment and wonder about what was going on. "Let's get going!"" Debra said in return. Alex followed her out to Sofia's car. Logically someone would need to carry Bo to one of the cars in order to get Bo to the vet. Ordinarily Alex could do that, since he was strong enough to pick up Bo, but thanks to his knee injury, he was restricted from lifting anything that he couldn't put in a backpack. The same feeling of uselessness that came to him when he was standing on the sideline at a football game was back, and it was multiplied exponentially, since this was more important than football. Alex gave Debra the directions to find Sofia and Bo, and soon Alex, Debra, and Alex's father were converging on Sofia and Bo's location.
