"I'm not interrogating anybody...yet, and I hardly think you're one to lecture me on authority. My authority is whatever I decide it to be. I simply choose to use that authority in the name of justice. And if you're having staffing issues, just hire someone else."

Chris took a sip of his drink, ignoring Law's scowl. He knew he couldn't play this gambit much longer. "Orrin has a good head on his shoulders. I'm sure he has a good reason for wanting to leave the Order. And Charlotte is a passionate woman. She won't give him up without a fight. Now, I don't know about you but I'd prefer to avoid fighting."

Mikila got bored sitting where she was. She climbed down and ran over to Tyler. "Anasi? Why is everyone so angry?" She asked softly. Not understanding. She looked at Law. He seemed tense. She tilted her head and stuck her thumb in her mouth. The tiny elven girl didn't really get it. Maybe he needed a hug? Though he might get violent. Yet Giant didn't get violent. She was hatching up her own plan. Everyone seemed so unhappy. She wanted to make it not so tense. She studied how everyone was acting then cautiously walked over towards Law. Tripping over the long kimono before pushing herself up a bit. She walked curiously and cautiously towards Law. Studying him. Curious of the man upsetting everyone.

Zulma's eyes narrowed slightly but she was not stupid enough to pick up a fight with Law. She was the innkeeper and would defend this place and its guests but violence would resolve nothing at the moment. She had no doubt about her abilities if need be but Law, despite his obnoxious ways which made her want to slap him, seemed calm at the moment and willing to explain.
Her lips curled at Tyler's comment. Yes Law's ways would not grant him any friends here and the inhabitants of the Inn would work together and defend their friends. If Law was here to kill Charlotte and Orrin, then he was not welcome. However setting him loose after them was probably not the best idea at the moment, they needed time to assess the whereabouts of their friends and be able to help them as much as possible.

When Chris entered, for a moment, Zulma smiled genuinely. It had been forever since she last saw the Knight and she had a discrete wave towards him. Chris and Sosol started immediately to work together to get information and time from Law.

Zulma let them handle the situation and walked to Azana who just came back to the room.
"You okay? You have any idea, where that thing came from?" she asked quietly, speaking about the parasite. Now that the heat against Law was cooling down, she was puzzled by the fact that Azana had had a parasite in her for so long and no one noticed. What she did not understand either was the purpose of such parasite who stayed idled for so long in its host. "Did you have any clue it was there?" she added.

Although she was talking with Azana, Zulma was keeping an ear on the conversation between Law and Chris. She was impressed at how much credit and respect Law was showing to Chris while he had been so 'pompous' with every body else.

Jeff sat back next to Violet, his gaze back and forth between the scene and the young woman's drawing.
"You are quite talented." he whispered as his eyes were more and more drawn to the picture, rather than the reality. Violet was showing the tension, the emotion is vivid ways.
Seeing her draw, somehow calmed him down. He was thinking. Charlotte and him were not the best of friends, she was too...much for him. Yet he wondered.
"What did Charlotte do?" he whispered to himself. From where he was he could not hear the discussion between the adults.

It was a little too much for Lin, too much feelings around her, too much agitation. The tea master stood up, a slight bow towards Adam and Kenos who seemed to be...'arguing'? then she glided elegantly across the room towards the bar. She had no real clue what as going on and contrarily to the rest of the guests, she did not care.
She stopped next to Law and Chris and nodded at the man in apology before looking towards Sosol.
"Forgive me, may I trouble you for a glass of water please Sosol-san?" When the bartender was not there, she would have helped herself, but when he was here, she made a point into respecting the etiquette and his role.
As she waited for her drink, her silver gaze glided a second towards Law and Chris, she had never seen them before. The man closest to her seemed the cause of all the commotion.

"Well, besides being a grouch, he scared a lot of people here, and now he's likely-- h-hey...!" Mikila was already walking toward him. Tyler swore under his breath, keeping a careful eye on the young elf girl but not rushing in quite yet. He knew nothing would happen to her, not here in the Inn, so why act like Law was dangerous?

Because he is. Just not to her.

"Of course," Sosol smiled, pouring a glass for her as he watched the two converse. Chris was doing well...he kept Law talking. More talking meant less drinking, and it would take more time to finish. What startled him more was the lack of Orrin and Charlotte on his radar. Sure, Charlotte could have scrambled their psychic links...

"I think so," Azana nodded, letting the justice friends go at it for a bit. "If it's six years...I think I got it during the Von Helson incident, Halloween 2007. I almost forgot about that run-in I had...not that I really wanted to remember it. Bet it's from then..."

Violet paused to catch her breath and stretch out a small cramp. "...nothing," she muttered, looking down to her picture. "Charlotte and Law...antagonize each other. I can see it in their faces. One's playing. One's not."

Chris, too, noticed the young elf slowly making her way towards their table and gave a subtle shake of his head. Telepathically, he added Your curiosity is admired, my young friend, but this is neither the time nor place to exercise it.

"I've got a proposition for you, Law. Allow my people to handle this situation. We'll speak to Charlotte and Orrin on your behalf and see if a reasonable compromise can't be met. After all, don't you love a fair deal?"  

[Azana Brown]

"I reject your proposal," Law answered simply. "Time runs short already. Deliberation and process have their places. This is not one." In a surprising gulp, Law finished the rest of the drink without flinching. He left a coin, golden and clean, on the table as a hefty tip. "It has been a pleasure, Knightsoul. Perhaps, when circumstances are not as dire, we can meet again. Likewise with you, Zulma, Azana...Malachai, stop sniveling. I will give you due warning if you are next."

He made strides for the door, looking over the door. "I will see to it that this is repaired. Good day."

"We'll beat you to--" He paused, pulling out his phone and quirking an eyebrow. "Never thought I'd actually see them use that feature...but why would--"

That's why I can't sense them. Delphi. Why is he holed up in Delphi?! He fumbled with the keys, managing to dial Kristen. Hopefully she was alright.

Chris watched Law depart, trying to figure out which part of the conversation had been a pleasure. Someone please tell me you were able to do something with the time I bought us, he thought out loud.

I know where he's going...I know where Orrin is. But I still don't know what's happening, Sol reported, heaving a sigh of relief at Kristen's voice.

"I'm glad you're alright...no, I'm not snooping again! I got a phone alert. What's happening over there?" He listened carefully, looking for any hint of information, but even Kristen seemed stumped. They were keeping this pretty heavily under wraps, but they knew Orrin and Charlotte were involved.

A light beeping sound caught Chris's attention as he pulled a device out of his pocket. "Hey, I'm getting a report from Central. I think something's going down at GMO."

Malachai nodded in the being's wake, smiling sheepishly. Instinct being what it was, he wasn't keen on his own panic either.

"...We're lucky he's busy, that's what."

Zippo yawned after Law, waving a foot merrily before sitting on Chris. "Ai raikyuuuu~"  

[Azana Brown]

"I don't know how or why he got there, but Orrin's at HQ. Delphi Complex, which explains why I can't sense him," Sosol added, hanging up the phone. "They've ordered a full-scale evacuation, claiming it to be a drill but stressing not to engage the 'threat'. Why he'd go there instead of staying on Neutral Ground that Law has to obey is beyond me."

"...Because Orrin is Orrin," Azana shrugged, taking a moment away from her conversation with Zulma. "He probably didn't want Law's anger unleashed here on the rest of us. Still doesn't explain why he'd go to Delphi, though."  

[Gren_Eckener]

"Charlotte's with him, though..." said Malachai, softly requesting something strong in the back of his mind. "...If there's a fight, she'd want him safe, especially if he's the primary target. If Delphi's the safest place she can keep him, she would go there, wouldn't she?"

"Something's not adding up here, guys. There's too many variables, too many pieces in play. I don't like the smell of it."

Mikila heard Tyler yet didn't get much closer when a voice in her head made her go wide eyed. Looking around and then bolted back over to Tyler and attached to him. She buried her face in his leg. Clinging with her hands in tiny fists. That was scary. So thought the girl who saw dead people and thought they were living unless they knew otherwise. She lifted her gaze. "There was voice in my head." She said. Shaking as that scared her. She'd not expected someone's voice to enter her head. She had expected it from those she knew or felt it happen near her to others like with Sosol. But Chris's mind touching hers had startled her. She relaxed though some and let go some. Looking up at Tyler then to the direction the voice might have come in. Where was that grumpy ghostie? He hadn't been around in awhile. She relaxed soon and smiled a bit. Staying near Tyler now as she wasn't sure she wanted to go check out the tension man now. She looked up at Tyler and spoke even as Law was leaving. "I just thought he might need a hug. Hugs make people better sometimes." She with a cute smile.

Tyler blinked in surprise, eyes rolling to the heavens in silent questioning. How had he attracted the attention of the little one? Of all the people here? "I doubt it's a hallucination...that kind of thing happens around here." The next thing she said, however, made him laugh in spite of himself. Just the mental image of Law getting a hug. From anyone.

"Well, do you want to check it out...?" Sosol offered. "We know where he's going, and it sounds like they're clearing the place out..."
