[RP] The Inn of Peace - IoP (Open to all)

While she was waiting for Tyler and Terry to decide, Lin walked to Malachai and bowed slightly.
"What would you care for?" she asked almost gently. It seemed as if the Inn was slowly bring emotions to her ton of voice or was it the current mayhem which was playing with her usual ways.

"Could I have a very strong liquor or tea? Maybe both?" he asked in a helpless tone. "It's...it's been a day."

Granted, it wouldn't affect him very much either way, but the principle of the matter was sound.

Mikila looked up at him with a tilt of her head. "Did he chase my grumpy friend away?" She asked softly. "He isn't here and he is always here calling me stupid." She said with a puzzled look. For that matter she hadn't seen him in a few days. She hoped grumpy pants was okay. She looked around again. Moving and just held Tyler's hand. She looked up at him as he spoke funny. Giggling as he spoke. She looked to her friend Mal. Maybe he saw her grumpy friend? He'd seen him before. She let go of Tyler's hand for a moment to run over to Mal and tug on his leg. "Friend Mal....have you seen grumpy pants?" She asked him hopefully. She hoped he had. Looking at Anasi worriedly. She knew her ghost friends sleeping place may not have been fixed yet. So he wouldn't have left yet...right?

Lin realized that she should serve Malachai sooner rather than later. She was not for drowning problems in alcohol but everyone had their own ways of dealing with things and it was not her place to discuss the ways of the demon. She excused herself momentarily to Tyler and Terry and walked back to the bar.

Now she had to admit that if she knew all about tea...when it came to alcohol, it was Sosol-san's domain. She thought that she might have to ask him to train her on the subject but he was gone at the moment so she would have to improvise. Improvisation however was not part of her skills. She looked in the closet in front of her. The first bottle was spiced rum. She vaguely recalled hearing people order something with it. She decided it would be as good as anything. She poured half a glass and added ice as she recalled Sosol-san adding ice to drinks.

Then she came back to Malachai. "A glass of rum for you. Is that acceptable? The tea will be ready in about five minutes." she asked very politely. She had to admit that she was a little tense as it was out of her comfort zone. Her silver eyes were looking more attentively than usual at the demon, waiting for his reaction.

Kenos hadn't enjoyed his teenage "glitching" period that had taken place with Adam. He hadn't been spazzy but to him it was unacceptable that he even had such an "arguement" with anyone. Teenage by appearance or not he wasn't able to deal with his "glitchings" at times. Though it hadn't been heated and he had learned some things it still bothered him. Only until this current glitching went away. Nothing showed on his features of his internal contemplations. For some reason he now had a strange twinge in his gut that had to do with Lin possibly not wanting to interact with him because of that glitching he had. He also needed to train. He had no katana. None of his weapons. He kept washing the same holes from burns from the explosion. That meant he'd need to repair his clothing soon as well. Training was a must along with working out. He had allowed himself to be lazy and insubordinate long enough. He should return to his normal routine. Get up at dawn or earlier. Work out. Train. Work out. Eat or drink if needed. More training. Long walk. He really shouldn't get comfortable with being lazy. He opened his eyes and stood up. Stretching out and moving to a place out of the way of others began to do pushups.

His garnet eyes shone in assured gratitude. He had absolutely no idea, really, but that didn't make him any less grateful. "Yes...that sounds tasty." he smiled weakly. "Please make your favourite tea...I want to share a cup with you."

Lin was still sane, right? Very grounded, very practical, even with everything? She smelled like calm. He needed calm.

"If you don't mind."

Glancing to the child suddenly wrapped about his leg, he looked around, sniffing lightly. "No, the ghost is gone. Has been for a few days. Why d'you hang out with ghosts, anyway? All they do is moan and groan and grumble. Taste like smoke."

Lin was internally reassured by Malachai's words and she bowed, blinking slightly as he asked her to make her favorite tea. It was very rare for people to actually enjoy the very bitter beverage but she nodded.
"I will do my best." she said calmly. She walked back to the bar, leaving Mal to talk with the child who was around his leg. Her eyes drifted a moment towards Keno who was now exercising. Although he was on one side of the room, it was strange for her to see him do that in the main room instead of outside where most of the guests would go. She did not say anything however and prepared the ingredients for the tea. The water was almost at the proper temperature.

The demon nodded in Lin's wake, grateful for the speck of stability she was providing. Sipping his rum, he found it pleasant enough. Naturally, the alcohol burned off at once in his throat, but that was hardly a problem.

Lin came back with a tray. The cups on it were not the Inn's but her own. For her favorite tea, she had to use the best material ever. She laid it in front of Malachai on the low table then kneed and sat on the other side of the table.
With graceful gestures, she prepared the beverage. It was obvious that she showed both habit and respect as she made the tea. Then she presented the tea to Malachai with a bow.
"Please, be careful, it is very hot." she said calmly.
Silver gaze on him, she waited to see if he would like it. So far, she had not found any human being who truly enjoyed this tea.

Getting down from the barstool to the low table, Malachai allowed the child to move with him as she willed, sitting to mirror Lin's posture. This was some kind of ceremony, he reasoned, and ought to be done properly as best he could.

Taking the cup, he nodded deeply in a hesitant half-bow. The heat didn't phase him in the slightest, it seemed, as he took the cup and sipped deeply, taking a swallow in a silent gulp.

"...wow...it's so strong, but not overwhelming." he murmured, looking into the cup., tail perking slightly. "What kind is this?"

Lin blinked, positively surprised at the man's reaction.

"A blend of green and black tea with hints of rose, vanilla and hibiscus." she answered calmly.

She bowed to her cup, white fingers turning it politely then she took a sip. Her eyes closed a brief moment. She realized that Malachai was not the only one who needed something soothing, she too needed that to calm herself.
For a moment, her features displayed a serene expression which was warmer than her usual face.

His tail curled a bit as he took another sip. enjoying a slowl deep breath of the smells involved. "It's nice...the hibiscus makes it vibrant and a little tart, but it's soothed by the vanilla and rose..." he murmured, looking into his cup. "And a very pretty color."

As the man spoke, Lin noticed that his tail was moving. She tilted her head slightly. She had seen his tail before, but never really understood that it was as much an indicator of his mood as a smile or a frown to someone else.
"Yes you are right and the vanilla adds some sweetness too." she bowed to the man, cheekbones almost rising in a smile. "I am very glad it is to your taste Malachai-san."  

[The Legendary Knightsoul]

Nate strolled through the door, carrying a fistful of sandwiches and a large pile of poker chips. He plopped the chips down on a table and made his way to the kitchen.

He nodded, finally smiling with some honest peace at heart, and waved to Nate. His favourite bird had arrived; perhaps this wasn't such a scary day after all.

"Thank you for sharing it with me...I know it's been a hard day on you too, Miss Lin."
