Tyler watched and contemplated, letting Malachai explain things to Mikila...he did a much better job of parsing down information to a child's level. Part of that, naturally, was his recent experience with having a similar breadth of knowledge.

He helped himself to the bottle of rum, not wanting to interrupt Lin's gentle conversation with Malachai, and poured tumblers for himself and Terry. "Keeping busy with classes?"

"You'd be surprised how much trouble kids can be," Terry chuckled, before looking to Mikila. "Not all of them are as sweet and understanding as that one. Holy terrors, some of them." He glanced over to Crystal, nodding in greeting and lifting his glass. "If it helps, Stella tried to talk him out of it." Where was she, anyway? Probably resting. She hadn't fully recovered from the Wand Test when she pulled that evacuation portal trick.

I'll join her later. Ty here's looking a bit lonely, even with a kid dangling off him.

Violet had stopped drawing, the whole page bursting with illustration and her arm aching with cramps. "...I haven't felt this sore since I was with Her..."

Nodding breifly to the barkeep, Felix tightly embraced the demon through layers of winter clothes. "Darling, it's so good to see you again. "

"Felixfelixfelixfelixyesyesyesyesyes" he trilled, nuzzling his face into the man's chest. "I'msohappyyou'rehomeI'msohappyyyyyyyyyyyy! The humans all went mad and are doing dangerous things but you're here now so it's okay casue you're safe and hello I love you."

Lin looked at Malachai, his words hurt her more than she would have thought. Then she look at her empty glass of sake, it would remain empty tonight, but she left it in case Felix wanted to drink with him. She stood up, bowing slightly at the two men.
"I wish you a good night." she said coolly then she disappeared up the stairs.
She felt more lonely in the middle of everyone than in the calm of her bedroom.



Jeff took her arm and gently massaged it. "Then you should stop...or learn to use your other hand." he teased her.

(He'd poured her some, though...a lot, in fact.)

Malachai looked back, pouting. "Hey now..! I was gonna come back! I just haven't seen him in months!"

Felix loosened his hold on the demon. "Dangerous?" He asked, watching the woman move off, as curious as he was concerned. The last time humans had been up to dangerous things... He shuddered at the thought of last year's fiasco.

Half way up the stairs, Lin heard Malachai and stopped, turning towards him. She bowed.
"Thank you Malachai-san. I am just tired and I wish for you to enjoy your reunion. We will drink together another time I am sure." her voice was cool and polite. The day was taking a toll on her. She bowed again and this time finished climbing the stairs to her room.

"I can't..." Violet confessed, flushing at his light massage. Her instinct was to pull away, but she stopped. He was being helpful, and he didn't mind the scars. "Sometimes...I just can't stop drawing something. I've drawn on myself before...my walls, my desk...not until it hurts like this."

"Aw, man, and I was hoping to talk to her," Terry frowned. "So graceful and serene..."

Tyler chuckled, taking a swig and admiring the warm burn on the back of his throat. "Hey, not that you'd appreciate it, but I've been working on JIM. All that rabbot-fighting gave me some ideas for him."

Max hopped into her room from outside the window, pulling up a rope and flopping promptly into her cushions. A manila folder stuck out of her bag.

"Man, an' the superdudes act like crime's so easy...gotta whole new respect for 'em. 'Cept Doe. He can go screw himself."

Mal pouted, waving halfway after Lin. He hoped he hadn't annoyed her, but he was just so happy.

Turning back to Felix, he nodded grimly. "Yeah...Let's, um...let's get your things in first. We're far away from the danger zone, and we need to stay here."

Getting down, he grabbed a trunk. "I'll help!"

Zippo, burger in mouth, ran over to Max and pounced on her lovingly. "HAI!"

Jeff shook his head. "Wow, on yourself? Like tattooed?" he grinned.
"I guess I am the same when it comes to training, sometimes I have to do it until my arms and my entire body burn." His thumbs were rubbing gently her forearm. He looked up from his massage and his eyes locked into Violet's for a moment before he looked away, embarrassed.
"Well practice makes perfect." he grunted.

Softly, Felix took hold of Mal's hand, towing his luggage with the other. "Come. You can explain everything I've missed while I change and unpack." he said warmly, tone calm as he led Malachai into their room.

Malachai nodded squeezing Felix's hand as they walked. "Hi, Max!" he smiled a bit, nodding. "See you later!"

Adam waved from his corner. "What's that folder?"

"M-hm," Violet nodded, giggling a little as he glanced away. "I can show you...do you want one? It washes away after a few days..." She stretched her hand. "I'll be okay...I promise."

"Zippo!!" Max beamed. "Izzat a burger? That sounds stupid good right now...an' the folder? Stolen goods, my friend, for the best reasons possible!" She pulled it out and opened it up.

"Ya see...I'm gonna comb this with everythin' I've got, try ta find a loophole for Vicky to get outta business with Doe. An' if that don't work, I'mma sick the Superdudes on him!" She let out a cackle of victory, though it didn't last long. "Seriously, though...breakin' inta places ain't easy, though. Ty, how do ya do all that runnin'?"

"Practice," he answered with a grin. "You could use some...you're pretty scrawny."

Zippo nodded, pointing to the kitchen. "Ai gata baagaa." he said proudly, eating it as he looked over the pages of the folder.

Adam joined her, smiling a bit, glad for a friendly face. "Wow...you think you can find something? I bet if anyone could, it's you." he smiled warmly. "Hungry? I can get you a burger too."

He heard her giggle and although he did not know why, he half pouted.
"Don't laugh at me." but his pouting was short lived at her offer. "You just said you were hurting..." He frowned then leaned. "You are not going to draw flowers or girly stuff on me are you?" he said raising an eyebrow. Although he liked Violet and she was his friend, and even his...sweetheart...maybe...he did not know what she thought, in any case, he knew that girls were trouble.
