He shook his head. "No, no, it is probably just from flying so much. All of the pressure changes may have irritated my eye."

Wincing at the sudden screech of an upset child, Charlotte glared daggers into Felix's chest as she gave him another hug. No, no. There'd been enough issues today. No need to silence the urchin permanently. "I hope that's all that it is...I'd hate to see you in pain."

Bill lumbered over to the elf child, kneeling down (though still a good head and a half taller than she), and put a finger to her lips. "Shush."

Mikila hadn't meant to screech. She would feel bad if she had known or realized. Plus feel like she failed her daddy and mommy who wouldn't wake anymore because they were always telling her to not make a sound. Or noise too loud. She jumped a tiny bit as her ears twitchingly bounced. The surprise silenced the loud whines that had come out as the screeches of terror. She still whimpered and cried without the louder noises. Staring in confusion and curiousity about this person who had had appeared magically, to her as she hadn't seen him lumber over, in front of her. Whimpering and sniffled. She figured if he was in here he had to be an okay person or he'd not be allowed to stay. Not okay people did bad things. Which would get them made to go...right? Well that was her understanding of things she had understood. Her reaction to coming to this conclusion fully was to wrap her arms around the kneeling person and bury her face in his form. Still crying with whimpers but no wails.

Simply not patient enough to tolerate all the noise at the moment, Felix scooped up both Charlotte and Mal and headed to his room.

Bill, without a word, picked up Mikaila and took her upstairs.

"There is too much noise in the main room already, little one. Please calm down."

Inside of Felix's room, Malachai stood on his own, nuzzling Felix's cheek as Charlotte scratched behind his ear.

"Have you been well?"

Mikila held onto Bill and felt him picking her up. She wrapped her little legs around him. Sniffling and whimpered until he spoke. "Shhh...no noise. Kay." She got out between sniffles and hiccups from trying to stop crying. "Mikila be quiet." She said in a whisper. Aside from nearly inaudible sniffles she made not a noise as she tried to calm down. She was a good girl. She listened. Her mommy and daddy taught her to be a good girl and listen. She was trying but the bad dream had her still trembling despite just silently crying now.

"You mean 'I will be quiet'." he corrected. "Good grammar is important...it will make people have more trust in you."

He set her down in the hallway and patted her head very gently with a hand the size of a catcher's mitt. "Why were you crying?"

Mikila looked at him. "Yes." She said softly. Tilting her head to the side. Good grammar makes people trust you? She scrunched up her nose as she processed this. "Understood mister." She said softly still. She looked at him. Looking up at him. Smiling a bit as the actions he was doing made her calm down. Staring up at him. "I am Mikila. Who are you mister? Thanks." She said. Meaning for helping her calm down. Staying soft spoken. "I was sleeping after exploring. Then dream turned bad. There was a mean dark ghostie...I think. I hit something and was able to wake up when it was gone." She said softly. Wiping her eyes and smiled up at him sweetly.

"Bill." he stated shortly. "There is no reason to cry: you won."

Mikila looked at him. Tilting her head a bit. So it hadn't just been a bad dream. She smiled a bit. Wiping her tears and hugged him. "Thanks Mr. Bill." She said softly. Letting him go and looked up at him. She fell silent. She hoped to see Giant (Jeff) or Anasi (Tyler) soon. She looked around then up at Bill. She liked Malachai too but she knew he'd been busy with that weird stuff going on that started tensions.

"From what I've heard, Zulma's rarely here," Terry frowned. "And Sol cheats a little. Psychic powers make it pretty easy to serve things. You have that skill and flair...a lot of dedicated training. I should know." He smiled, offering a nod of respect.

"Lin-san, do not belittle yourself so."

Tyler had retreated upstairs with all the madness, working more on his current project. JIM sat in his room, getting a software update to better work in the main room. Max had been hard at work, but there wasn't quite that breakthrough loophole yet. He was a little surprised...if all else fails, they could murder Doe with blunt force trauma from his own contract.

"How's that for poetic justice...?" He murmured to his project, enjoying the comforting presences of solder and oil and the occasional hallucination from sleep deprivation.

The blonde pyromancer in the main room shuddered as Abigail left, her full Death persona causing changes to the tables and dark prints on the floor. Zulma wouldn't approve, but it was clear that the vague danger that Remy had so feared may not have been fully quelled.

"I am ready this time..." Kristen affirmed quietly to the fireplace. "I can help for real..."

Dart didn't generally come down from high up in the mountains height. Still he needed a break from his cave. So off on a journey of gathering items and herbs did he venture. He was tall for an elven male of pureblood. His long blond strands in a ponytail held high up on his head. The alchemist wandered for days and hours onwards. Venturing out into the world for a mini vacation of sorts. He walked onwards towards a place that Ari had spoken of and in passing he'd heard Amir muttering about. He had his bag that hung at an angle on his hip. Everything he valued from his alchemy made perfumes and potions to the one connection to his heritage, his rapier, were inside there. Along with alchemy ingredients he'd collected. Now however, he wished for a warm building. The air was frigid outside. He had his tool belt angled across his other hip. A smile hit his lips as he approached the Inn Of Peace. Opening the front door and let himself in. The energy in the air rippled tension. He stopped. Perhaps he should rest and warm then head out? He spotted a couch and walked to it. Sitting down and relaxed. It felt nice to sit on something like this. Perhaps he should rest his eyes? No. He would stay alert.

Satisfied at the child's silence, Bill stood and lumbered off. "'Good. No more crying. There's been enough of that today."

The vampire in question, naturally, was upstairs. He'd heard everything Abigail had said, and was sighing, eying the monkey skull she'd given him. He'd probably have to try and kill Kaeru.

Mikila looked up at Bill. She let go of him. "Yes sir. No more crying. Promise." She said softly. She wasn't sure if that was in general or just for now. She would just try not to cry at all. If she could. She didn't want to make people mad. She began to walk and listen for tinkering or Anasi's voice. She listened at each door. She kept walking until she found the room where tinkering was. Tapping on the door. Softly but audibly. "Anasi?" She called out hopefully. She wanted to watch him work. If he would let her. She'd understand if he didn't.

Kristen had left her place next to the fireplace, still frowning at Death's mark on the Inn. The keyholders would need to fix that...and JIM would be busy cleaning up the wilted flowers. Did Remy know...? Somehow, she knew he did. If he didn't hear the conversation with his heightened senses, he had to have felt her anger and trepidation.

There would come a knock at Remy's door, the blonde waiting on the other side.

Tyler blinked, glancing to the door. He hadn't been expecting visitors...but then again, he didn't expect some elven urchin to latch herself onto him. He wiped off his hands and stood from the desk, gingerly crossing the room to the door.

"That's what you call me, yeah," he answered, looking down to her. "Did you get lost up here, or were you looking for me...?"
