[RP] The Inn of Peace - IoP (Open to all)

[Azana Brown]

"Nah, I mean that one day you guys were trying those splitter things...what'd you call her again?" Azana thought for a moment before shaking her head. "Never mind. It doesn't matter. How's he doing now...?"

As if summoned, Orrin strolled down the stairs, yawning lightly. Despite being streaked and rooted in darkness, his hair still seemed to maintain that soft, tangle-free drape. "Better, now that the rush and crash is over. I finally feel truly balanced."

"A grand opening...oh, definitely!" Violet gasped at the possibilities. She had already seen the Inn throw together incredible impromptu parties...this could be news-making...

"Oh, yes! A rollicking success; nobody got caught and nothing was on the police blotter by morning." she smiled, trilling at the entry of her beloved. "The prince of anthropomorphic perceptions hath descended to join the commoners, behold!"

"So long as you don't think she'd mind a flashmob." he chuckled. "We could arrange one, easily."

Azana shook her head with a resigned smile. "As long as I don't have to bail either of you out of jail sometime..."

Orrin straightened his posture, taking a nearly regal stance as he strolled to Charlotte. "Best herald ever, I say."

"Hm...she may get a little confused by it," Violet gave it some thought, "but if it's to help out and make her feel welcome, I doubt she'd reject it." She continued to scribble, a veritable treasure trove on the paper with the background of a valley landscape.

"Probably not?" Charlotte offered, kissing Orrin's hand. "First they have to make prisons that could hold us."

"Though, for you," she added, grinning up to Orrin, "I might put up with a night in the drunk tank. How's shakes, babycakes?"

Gren chuckled, rubbing his hands together. "When shall we do it?"

"It would be interesting, to say the least," Orrin gave it a little thought and a nod of consideration. "I don't think I've been to jail before...ever, really. Nirro?"

"Nope!"

Azana shuddered. Yeah, Nirro was part of her friend, there, but it was still really, really gruesome memories.

"We're doing fine now. I'm once again comfortable in my own skin...though I realized I think I'm a bit darker than before. Not much, but not as pale..." He looked at the back of his hand. "It's odd, but refreshing, to get reacquainted with myself."

A flash of light appeared outside the Inn, attracting a moment of Azana's attention. "Huh. Ty's back." Wasn't he already here...? When did he leave out?

"Gren...?" She looked him over as she glanced up from the page. "...are you...plotting?"

Charlotte giggled, clapping her hands a moment. Hooray! They both talked!

"I went to prison lots of times! It can be pretty fun, after you get used to the process. It's kind of like going to a haunted house."

He smirked, the crook in his grin just a little more mischief than usual, and glanced after the flash. "Oop...better let them in." he smiled, opening the door and allowing the wayward trio forward.

"They'd take our coat," Nirro said flatly. "They wouldn't live to regret it."

"They would," Orrin insisted. "But taking my coat is, while courteous, an unwise decision." He patted it with pride.

Tyler wasn't wearing a coat as he walked in, looking exhausted, slightly disheveled, but doggedly determined to make it up the stairs to his room completely on his own.

Max wasn't far behind, wearing mostly what she left in, to her great dismay. "Hey, guys...didn't worry ya too much, I hope."

"He's plotting," Violet muttered quietly, working on a little shading before she dared try to color it and ruin it. "This'll be fun."

"Honey, by the time you'd served your time, they wouldn't have manage to empty the pockets." Charlotte grinned, batting at a pocket. "You'd put a halt to the entire bureaucratic process at the frisking alone! Next heist I do, you're coming with me!"

Remy followed in the back, looking about as dandy as he did when he'd left. "Heyo."

"Well well...where's our merry band been?" grinned the Innkeeper.

"Long story short: tying up loose ends."

Charlotte gestured to Max. "Can you come here a minute? I have to talk to you about Hyper."

"It's a date!" Nirro's sharktooth grin popped into being on Orrin's face momentarily.

"What do you mean 'next'?" Orrin raised an eyebrow. Stealing seemed somehow boring compared to the chaos she could unleash.

"Huh? 'Kay," Max shrugged, walking over in spite of looking a little less than her best. "So, um...wacha need?"

Tyler retreated straight to his room, practically flopping into bed for rest. He looked over to JIM, satisfied at his display.

Without even pulling off his glasses, he slipped into a much-needed rest.

Violet continued her furious sketching, humming in thought at the scene thus far. It would have helped if she saw Victoria's work at the store, but she'd simply have to ad-lib some jewelry designs.

"Think ahead, dearheart. Eventually, I'm going to pull a heist of some kind." Charlotte said, tapping her temple. "Of what? Who knows. Maybe it'll be recreational, maybe it'll be guerrilla warfare, maybe I'll be stealing the grumpy old goat's shoes. Either way, I want you with me."

Turning to Max, she nodded, pursing her lips. "Did you team up with Hyper somehow? He's insisting his name is Luigi and that you're player one, and I want to know what happened."

Remy nodded to Tyler, giving Gren a smile that stated all that was needed to know.

The innkeeper chuckled, letting things lay as they were for the time being. No use flogging a dead horse for information.

Orrin shrugged. "I don't see any harm in it, I suppose..." At its heart, though, switching out Law's shoes would be a fun little prank. He'd give the shoes back, of course...permanent stealing wasn't quite in his nature.

"Oh!" Max smiled, nodding enthusiastically. "He kinda saved my life a little bit back. When he did, he called himself Player Two...an' Luigi was the first thing that came ta mind. I didn't realize he'd take such a shinin' to it. That a bad thing?" Sure, it was vague, but to announce to the whole room that she had inadvertently overdosed herself on Ty's super-juice probably wasn't the best idea.

Azana took a moment to peek over Violet's shoulder at her latest work with a low whistle. She hadn't realized the girl could do landscapes...she tended to draw people all the time.

"We can give him some of those shoes like Zig Zag has, from the Thief and the Cobbler." to Orrin with a grin. Looking back to Max, she frowned slightly. "That's what I mean. How exactly did he help you?"

"Amazing, isn't it?"

Max grimaced. "Guess it's a bad thing...ya see, he was really diggin' the stuff I overdosed on, so he kinda popped in and helped me handle it. It felt a little funny, but he didn't do anythin' bad." She felt a little guilty...has she gotten him in trouble? No, since she didn't really do anything to begin with. He helped by himself...

"I don't think those have been lost," he hummed, peeking into his pocket and looking through the shoes, just out of curiosity.

Azana startled slightly, despite the calming familiarity of the voice. "Huh? Yeah, yeah it is...what's it for? Why all the extra around the edges?"

"Victoria's back in business," Violet explained, eyes glued to the page. "I'm going to make her a flyer. Gren wants to flash-mob a grand opening party..."

"Wait, what...?" She looked to him. "Do they still do that kind of stuff where you're from, or did you pick that up here?"  

[Gren_Eckener]

"Not necessarily, but it's not entirely a good thing either...you're saying he possessed you, to a degree?" she asked hopefully. "Cause that's not bad, overall, but not Plan A material, you know what I mean? There's been no lasting effects, right?"

"A bit of each." smiled Gren. "I'm trying to keep with the times. I'll ask her first if she wants a grand opening beforehand, so she doesn't feel overwhelmed or anything.""

"I dunno," Max shrugged, now feeling a crawling sense of unease, "I've never been possessed before, so how'm I supposed ta know what ta expect? Not ta mention I've been hospitalized for a few days for dehydration and heart stuff thanks ta goin' overboard."

"Sounds good," Azana nodded with a grin until she overheard talk of possession. "I know a thing or two about that...and maybe Sol can scan her, just to check, if you're worried."

"Thanks...Charlie's got me worried 'bout brain cooties," Max pouted.

"You need not worry," Orrin grinned, giving the girl a light hug. "If there's a problem, you have a team of experts. Then again, I'm sure you're used to that."
