Sariel smiled and happily began eating. It had been a long while since she had any kind of real steak, even for being a hunter, so she was going to savor it. She tried to keep her attention to herself, so as not to be rude and pry into things that were none of her concern, but when a man called Mal walked down the stairs with an elephant and called her Blueberry, she couldn't help but blink and stare a bit in confusion.

"Hello," she replied after swallowing what was in her mouth, friendly nonetheless. Was this sort of greeting customary? The others hadn't greeted her this way. Maybe he was of a different culture than the others? Sariel wasn't sure, but she was hesitant to lean over, smell him, and give him a name based of his scent.

Did she smell like blueberries? Sariel tried to be subtle in angling her nose down and sniffing her clothes, but all she got was the sharp pungent scent of her own odor, something akin to a collection of spices in a cupboard, that let her know she would probably be asking for hot water in her room for a bath once she made it up there.

"Yeah, well, so's the two teleporters you made, and I don't see you abusing those." he replied frankly. "Look, last time you made one, you were in a really bad place, didn't have anyone to come say 'that's a really bad idea'...really, you were a different man. Trust me. And if you worry on you messing up with that thing again, you break it, and we forget it. I don't mind being a subject for it, if it means I can get rid of that really awful future that wasn't."

"The kitchen."
he said happily. "I'm hankering for some fruit! What're you up to?" The demon smiled to the newcomer. "That steak looks good too, though!"

"If they're not properly calibrated, the errors are potentially catastrophic," he answered flatly before he was interrupted by Remy's surprisingly empathic recount of his last model. He was right, after all...he had changed considerably, and yet not at all. His thoughts were jarred as Remy actually volunteered, discussing--

"Wait, what...?" Tyler asked in mild bewilderment. Memories...of the future...? An alternate future that never came to pass? How intriguing...! "...you can't do the run with me...gather what parts you remember while I'm out. You'll get your Memory Coder."

"Getting used to doing a bit more hospitality," Azana explained. "This is Sariel. Sariel, this is Malachai. He has an...interesting sense of smell."

He grinned, offering a hand. "You're a good friend, Ty. Let's do this."

Malachai's tail swayed curiously as he looked the elf over, humming. "Huuuuhhhh~...hey, interesting?" he pouted, looking back to Azana. "I can't help what I smell."

Sariel smiled and waved to the man, seemingly accepting the explanation Azana gave completely, "a pleasure to meet you Malachai. Out of curiosity, were you perhaps named after the stone malachite?"

She tilted her head to the side just a twitch before smiling sheepishly, "sorry, maybe that's not an appropriate question."

He blinked, wide-eyed and hopeful.

"What's malachite?" he asked cheerfully.

Well, he answered her question with a question, and Sariel was happy to give an answer in return, as best that she could, "it's a type of stone, fairly common, that alternates between dark green and light-green bands. I've seen it used in jewelry, it's very pretty."

He stared a moment, processing this information. The name he gave people, he'd thought, was Biblical...was it about rocks too? Were rocks holy?

"No...besides, I'm all in red!"
he laughed, pointing to the tips of his hair, to his eyes as well. "But I am pretty, so maybe?"

"Just don't make me regret it, alright...?" Tyler responded, giving a firm handshake. Turning away, he began to pull out some clothing, tossing it next to his beat-up (but still very serviceable) bag. "Do what you can from memory...it should only take me a couple hours to grab what I need once I get to Aekea."

Who knows, he thought, layering against the cold, maybe I can check in on Deshaun, see how he's holding up.

Azana observed the two with mild amusement. Sariel certainly knew her stones...that explained the pouch of them. And Malachai? Well, he knew what he knew.

JIM-BO made his way to the docking station to charge a little. The bin was still at decent capacity...no need to request emptying.

"Hey, if you do, I do too." he grinned, drumming up a list in his mind. "I'll at least see what I can cobble up from around here first. Thanks, Ty...you're a damn good friend."

Gren chuckled good-naturedly. "Az, you hungry too? As long as I'm grilling, y'know..."

"We'll see," he answered, vanishing in a flash and, surprisingly, leaving Remy alone in his room. Had he deactivated everything...?

"I could be if it looks like that," Azana chuckled, eyeing Sariel's steak. "Let's see how your grill skills fare."

Remy grinned, apt to find out, and began rummaging. He paused a moment before to text Max:

[mission accomplished]

He arched a brow, grinning at the challenge. "Is that a word of doubt I hear?"

<What?! For serious? What'd ya bribe 'im with?> Came the reply as Max shot up from her work. This put a whole new spin on things...but she'd need help. And that help would come with a lotta questions.

I can do it...data mining's my thing. Sweet-talking friends is also my thing...and apparently Remy's, too. Dayum, baby!

"Depends," Azana shrugged, perfectly content to play along. "Only one real way to settle it." She wouldn't dare challenge him to a cook-off, but she hadn't seen him at a grill in a long time. He could use the fun.

He smirked, and strolled into the kitchen. "How cooked?"

Max answered, typing and organizing. What did she want to show? What order? Who's brain would she have to pick?

"Medium rare, if you don't mind," Azana answered. "Anything more is a waste of good steak." She wondered if some veggies would go well with it, or if Sol wanted anything.

Sosol had managed to get everything away, including replenishing the spice cabinet, as Gren came back in. "Another order so soon?" He asked, though he knew better. He could hear them from the kitchen easily. He got started on something himself, eager to provide a bit more surprise...also, he was a bit hungry, too.
