[RP] The Inn of Peace - IoP (Open to all)

Lin leaned forward and took a quick look at the key to see what color ring was around it.
"That way." she led Sariel down the hallway to a door on their right. The door lock had a matching color ring as her key.
"This is your room." she said, letting the woman open the room.

Sariel smiled, a little embarrassed about not realizing how the key and lock matched up, but it might have been something she would have figured out given enough time. She was glad for the help though. Once at the door, Sariel fit the key into the lock and turned it, confirming it was the correct door, and swung it open.

She stepped in and smiled at the humble room and quickly searched for a place to store her extra weapons.

Lin was a little uncomfortable about stepping into her room and the amount of weapons the woman was carrying, but she would be quickly in and out.
"So there is a bed, a desk with a chair, a closet and here..." she walked towards a door in the wall to their right. She opened it and turned on the light.
"This is your bathroom with a shower, a sink and a toilet. There should be hot water." she explained Sariel, stepping out of the way to give the woman space to look at the bathroom.

Sariel looked to Lin and listened as she explained the furnishings, heading to the closet to deposit her weapons and her pack. Then Lin opened an adjacent door in the room and said this was the bathroom. Sariel approached and looked in with wonder. She stepped inside and investigated the room before looking at Lin, "there's already hot water here?" the elf looked around, "is it in the walls? How do I get it out?" She bent towards the bathtub and found the faucet, running her fingers along the smooth surface and found the two knobs above it. She attempted pulling first before turning them.

She jumped back when water came fountaining out of the faucet and stared for a moment before smiling, "amazing, where's all this water coming from?"

Lin had a small smile at the surprised and delighted expression on the elf's face.
"In a way, yes. There are pipes coming from the basement and bringing the water here but the supply isn't endless, so don't forget to turn it off when you are not using it." she explained turning the knobs and cutting the water supply. "This is the hot water and this is the cold water."
She paused, glancing quickly at the toilet.
"I might be bold, but, have you ever used one of those?" she asked a little unsure.

Sariel noted the hot and cold knobs and nodded, then looked to the shiny white thing and noted it's shape, "I've used something like it yes," she said, to save the poor woman some embarrassment.

"I'm glad to hear. Well... Anything else I could be of assistance with?" she asked quietly. Although she didn't show much expression, it was obvious that she was relieved that she didn't have to explain how to use a toilet...  

[Azana Brown]

Violet gingerly pulled it out of the box, holding up the pearl to the light with a lighthearted smile of wonder. She hadn't been to the ocean in years, not since her family took her there. She clasped it around her and watched how it sat before looking back to Jeff. "Thank you," she nearly whispered, wrapping her arms around him again, "but honestly...I'm just glad to see you back safe."

"We're honored," Sosol bowed lightly in his seat. "Hopefully, we'll never have to use them for anything..."

"To be fair, things were a little hectic last time you were around," Azana pointed out, shrugging off the idea of having done so sooner. "And this is pretty damn good, Gren. How could I have ever doubted you...?"

"Erm..." Kristen paused, setting down a bite of steak before addressing the others. "I have some good news, too..."

"Nope, all here," Tyler heaved a sigh of relief, reminding himself to ask Max about good gyms, or see if Azana would lend that dojo she unofficially claimed. "Building it shouldn't be too difficult...but all the coding. That'll take a few days, but I have to make sure it's spot on. One wrong command, and he whole program crashes."

Jeff gazed at the young woman with a tender smile on his lips. He let out a small sigh of relief and happily welcomed her in his arms.
"You're very welcome." his heart was pounding in his chest. He felt clumsy.
"This trip wasn't too bad. It was long but not as dangerous as some of Zulma's usual quests. How have you been?" he asked more casually as he pulled away.


Zulma was all smile. "I'll make sure this is taken care of today."

When Kristen spoke, she turned her face towards the woman.
"Oh? Good news? I like good news." she beamed, looking at her expectantly.  

[Azana Brown]

"Aside from the usual, manageable weirdness, I've been doing okay. I graduated, and I have a few art commissions, but I'm hoping to get a career going somewhere..." Violet explained, opening the door to her room and inviting him in. It was, as usual, covered in pictures almost up to the string lights she had picked up with Gren oh so long ago.

"Getting this, though...I kind of want to draw some ocean things..."

Kristen cleared her throat, then firmly closed her mouth and lifted her cupped hands. In the middle sparked a small flame, which lingered long enough to get the expected reaction out of her audience before fading away.

"So...?"

"Kristen, that's fantastic! When did you learn to do that?" Sosol applauded her, also noting the lack of green...she had disposed of the materia, too, he supposed. Didn't need it anymore. "Is that why you've been so sparse lately?"

Azana stifled the urge to request a marshmallow and simply smiled, utterly impressed and somehow reminded of her own work in mastering electrokinetics. "That takes a lot...good job."

Jeff followed her inside and grinned at the decoration. He could tell that in the few months she had been a away, he had improved a lot.
"Wow, I'm not surprised you have commissions already." he walked closer to some of her latest work. "This is really beautiful...I could barely draw a stick figure." he chuckled.

When she talked about drawing the ocean, he looked back at her.
"I've actually managed to take some photos when I was there. Would that help you?" he offered.


Zulma watched the flame with wonder. Air was the element she had mastered in her years of fighting and she always hoped that she were able to bend fire, much more useful!
"This is amazing!" she applauded genuinely impressed.

"You did?!" Violet asked, spinning around to meet him. "Oh, yes, please! I'd love to see your pictures!"

"I had a bit of an epiphany while practicing...and a little help from the others," Kristen explained, hands comfortably around cutlery again. "So, now I can do it by myself. No incantation necessary..."

"That opens up a lot of opportunity," Sosol nodded knowingly. "I bet you'll be doing more than paperwork at this rate..."

"If you think you're ready, of course," Azana cautioned. After all, maybe Kristen was happy doing assistant work. Not everyone had to work in the field.

Gren smiled, nodding slightly in grace to Azana. "You didn't think I was just making that up, did you?" he chuckled. "You earned it long ago."

To Kristen, he sighed happily, delighted to see her bloom, and applauded. Perhaps he ought to give her an award?

"That one I'll leave to you, then..." said Remy thoughtfully, rubbing his chin. "Buuuut, didja hear what I said? Zulma's back? Downstairs?"

"I guessed as much. Considering you were able to--" He froze in mid-statement, gently putting down the part and slowly turning to Remy. How'd he...vampire. Of course. Super-hearing. It was hard to remember sometimes, with how he acted.

He was tempted to ask if Remy was joking, but he didn't seem to be. "...I see. If you would excuse me a moment...I should probably clean up a bit. I did just go running."

"No, but I did get a sweet steak out of the deal," Azana laughed, setting down her fork and smiling all the same. "Seriously, though...thanks...for everything. Both of you." She had reviewed it on some of her thoughtful nights...if it weren't for these people, she was pretty sure she wouldn't still be here.

Kristen basked in the adoring glow from others for a moment, though she did acknowledge her brother's statement. "That's part of why I've been practicing so much...if they need me, I don't want to let them down." The memories were still fresh, of seeing everyone else act while she was just left behind to wish. Was that her spark, perhaps, to stand on her own?

He smiled. "I'll just get these things arranged. Hop to, lover boy."

"Hey...it's the least you deserve, and when I come up with better ways to thank you, I'll let you know." he smiled, finishing his half. "So? Is the steak up to your tastes?"
