Thomas looked at the doorway through which they had disappeared before he looked down at his empty plate. He was full and didn't want anything more, but he didn't think he could eat more if he wanted to. He felt Ikki's hand on his head and looked up, trying to smile. "I don't know why, but she had never liked me. She always says things to me when the master is away. Sometimes I don't understand what she means, but I know it's not nice. But her outburst today....I mean in front of the master....he'll flog her for it. I try to stay away from her so she doesn't get in trouble. But I really just wanted you to stay with me. You can stay in my house. It's not as nice as this one, but you won't have to be alone." Thomas said starting to cheer up.

Ikki sighed as he noticed Thomas looked off in the direction that the Master had dragged Alice off towards. He explained a little bit of the history between Alice and himself which didn't make much sense to him. Why she hated this boy so much. If anything he was the breath of fresh air in this place. Picking up the tea cup with grace he shrugged unsure about that to say regarding her. "I would love to say at your house." It was a better cover then staying in this large place. If his former master came here. He would came to the main house not Thomas's.

Thomas' eyes lit up again. "Ah! Really?! That's great. We should get to work now. We start work on the dot at 9am. So, what all do you do or can you do? Is there a certain area of work you do?" Thomas asked as he got up. He started helping the others clear the table. "Oh! Where are my manners? I'm so sorry. Well, you met Alice. (he nodded toward the door) This is Peter the cook, Laya one of the maids and that is Jester the masters new pet." Thomas waved at Jester.

Jester spent breakfast quietly and sleepily picking at his plate. Hungry though he was, after his sudden burst of energy just to get out of bed, he was tired again. He hardly registered any of the commotion around him, not even when the night guest had taken his place at the table. Jester just flat out didn't care.

And then Kio left the table to drag Alice away. The dragons attention was instantly grabbed and he watched the master drag her to her doom. What ever the master was about to do, she had probably earned it. While he personally had no bad experiences with the woman, he didn't like the way she always somehow managed to make Kio angry.

He brought a pancake to his mouth and sank his teeth into it as Thomas said his name.

He moved up onto his knees, so that his eyes barely cleared the edge of the table, but it was enough. Thomas looked quite delighted with himself (as he always seemed to be.), and across the table from the boy was someone new. He chewed thoughtfully. "Whosh dat?" He asked through a mouth of maple syrup and butter.

Thomas giggle with delight as Jester tried talking with all the syrup in his mouth. "You seem to be enjoying your breakfast. This is Ikki." Thomas said not bothering with the Mr. part since his master wasn't in the room. "He's staying with us now. Isn't that great?! He's going to stay in my house with me and help around the mansion."

Helping clean up. Ikki began to gather different plants and cups as he looked over at Thomas. "Cook. Clean and paper work." he explained with a happy smile leaving out the other stuff he was forced to learn like pleasing his masters. He looked at the cook Peter, Laya one of the maids and Jester the masters new.. what? Pet? Ikki smiled at all of them. "Very nice to meet you." he said as he tired to balance the dishes in his hands. Those this pet caught his attention very much now getting a feeling that was unshakable but Thomas handled the rudeness of the pet as he spoke so.. poorly.

Jester's silver eyes focused on Ikki. He licked some of the butter off of his fingertips. There was that feeling in his gut again. That one he didn't like, only now it was making him feel almost sick. So far, he didn't trust this guy. Jester twirled his hair around his finger. "Nice to meet you, too."

He sank back down onto his pillow and drew a sip out of his cup of milk. He leaned around the table to see Thomas. "Hey, Thomas. How long have you been here, anyway?" He thought it was a legitimate question.

He threw a glance to the door the master had gone through, scanning over Ikki on his way. Whoever this guy was, he would have to know that he was in Jester's house now.

Thomas pushed his chair in and then twirled with his hands outstretched. "This is going to be the best day ever! I just know it." He sang before grabbing some more plates off the table to help carry to the kitchen. Laya chuckled to herself as the cook, Peter just smiled and shook his head.

Thomas looked at Ikki after they finished clearing the table. "You can stay inside and help with the dishes and then help Laya with the dusting or you can come with me. I need to finish preparing the bear skin that master killed yesterday. He wants a pillow made out of it. But I warn you, it's messy and stinky. I don't know why bears smell so bad. Master says it's the bear fat." Thomas shrugged and added, "Who knew bears had B.O." He giggled.

Thomas went to get Jester's plate. "Are you finished? How long? I was born here."

"Alright. Lets clean that bear skin." Ikki said as he began to make his way towards the kitchen with a few things in his arms as he carried them with little effort. That sounded a lot better then cleaning dishes and dusting. He had no problem skinning animal. Even if he had a pretty face Ikki was able to get down in dirty when it come to these sort of things. Maybe because his mother was a doctor so as a child he grew up around these things. In the kitchen now Ikki went ahead and cleaned off the dishes he carried so the ladies wouldn't have to worry about it. Reentering the dinning room as he waited for Thomas to lead the way.

Jester was surprised. "Really? You were born here?" He handed his dishes to the boy. "Thanks, Thomas." The dragon pushed himself up onto his bare feet, stretching his hands above his head. If he were to go back to sleep right now those damn pancakes would go straight to his hips. So instead of heading back up to the red room, he headed to the leisure room.

He wondered how long the master would be busy as he sat down at the piano. He ran his fingers over the keys, but struck none of them. Jester had never been taught how to play anything, even though his past masters had tried so hard to teach him. He was just too stubborn for that.

He looked out the window.

Thomas didn't say any more about him being in this house since forever. He took Ikki's hand and headed to the back of the mansion, out the back, past the pool and to a small free standing house that had skins hanging all over on one side. The sun was beating down the skins, drying them nicely.

"Thanks a lot." Thomas told Ikki as he lead him to the butcher's house.

At last the master appeared. He'd been looking for his pet and found him in the leisure room. "You meet the new person?" Kio asked.

Thomas took his hand as they headed to the back of the mansion, out the back, past the pool and to a small free standing house that had the skin hanging all over on one side. Ikki walked quickly It was nice being outside as he yawned slightly and looked around at the woods around them. It was thick and he began to wounder how he managed to make his way though it last night. They make their way towards the butcher's house. "So lets get started." Ikki said happily as he removed his hand from Thomas as he rolled up his sleeved.

Jester jumped as he suddenly heard Kio. The dragon nodded a bit and looked back at the keys in front of him. "I don't know what to think about him yet. Thomas seems to be really sweet on him, though." He ran his fingers over the keys again.

"Why do you still have Alice around? I don't think anyone actually likes her, master." He stated simply.

"Awesome!" Thomas let go of Ikki's hand and ran ahead. He pulled a thick, heavy brown apron off the hook by the door and held it up for Ikki before getting his own and putting it on. He moved to tie the strong for Ikki before tying his own.

He then opened the door to the house and stepped in. The many windows helped keep the place well lit, but there were some lanterns around the house just in case. "This is the one. The bear was twice my size....and I don't think I'm that small." Thomas said putting his hands on the skin that was stretched out over the table, most of it falling down on the sides.

They got to work while the sun was still up and with the help of Ikki, they were able to get the hide out in the sun to dry before lunch time. "Wow! You really know your stuff. I didn't think we'd get it done that quickly. You're awesome." Thomas praised as he pressed up against Ikki's side.



Kio noticed his pet jump and he came over to him and put his arms around him as he stood behind him. He listened to his question and said, "I don't think she'll bother any one again." He said before he kissed Jester's neck.
