It has nothing to do with that! Aeris said quickly, imediately defensive. She chided herself with the knowledge that it would be eay to get rid of this girl if she just said that she didn't want to be around her. Yet, she couldn't do that. For some reason, she just couldn't.

I want to be your friend...Karen...  

[SephiLyn]

Lyn and Tiger had wandered around for sometime with out finding the exit. Lyn found a closely clustered group of trees and spread her water proof coat between the branches to create a small shelter. She and Tiger huddled together and ate some more of her Cinnabun. Tiger's inner fire and fluffy body kept him warm, but he was still uncomfortable. Lyn, however, decided to use his natural gifts to help keep her warm too. She sat huddled with Tiger in between her legs and her torso. It was going to be a long night. Lyn put away the rest of the Cinnabun, careful to save some incase it took longer to get out than normal. She took out her warm yellow sweater and wrapped the lower half of her legs in it. She took out her school club jacket and wrapped it around Tiger to insulate him even more. Tiger fell asleep and Lyn watched the rain fall for awhile before falling asleep as well.  

[Michiru Tendo]

Karen's eyes widened in surprise. "You.. do? That's wonderful!" She smiled and giggled once again, though this one was not forced. Karen gave Cosette and gentle smile and whispered to her, "Isn't that great, Cosette? Our first friend since we left Cinnabar. Maybe now we won't be as lonely anymore." The Ponyta nuzzled Karen's hand, and the trainer patted Cosette on the cheek in return.

Karen then heard another sound echoing through the cave, reminding her where she was. Remembering the darkness surrounding her, she shrank back down and began to shake a bit.  

[Fade_the_Pyro]

I do. But I cannot. There are...complications. Aeris shifted uncomfortably in her crevice, her body starting to cramp up painfully. she always wondered how that was possible, since she was dead.

Han rolled his eyes, choosing this as his moment to intervene. He appeared in front of Karen and crooed in his spooky voice.

"Haaaaantr." He was trying to say: "She's hiding behind that rock." He only hoped that the dense red-head got the picture.  

[Michiru Tendo]

"What complications? Eek!" Karen screamed as Haunter appeared in front of her, but soon recognized the Pokemon as Aeris's. "Oh, hello there! That must mean Aeris really is nearby, huh?" Karen stood up and looked around for the black-haired girl in wonderfully cute frilly clothing.  

[Fade_the_Pyro]

"Han, you traitor!" Aeris didn't realize she spoke aloud until it was far too late. She swiftly covered up her mouth and contemplated where se could disappear to, her heart pounding as the red-head shuffled ever closer to her hiding place.  

[Michiru Tendo]

Karen jerked her head around to look in the direction the voice had come from. She saw the large rock; Aeris had to be behind there. She walked over to the rock, picking up her pace as she moved in closer on the large stone. She smiled happily upon finding the girl crouching behind the rock, but then she noticed something odd about her new friend. "Aeris, why are you glowing? How do you do that, it makes you look even more beautiful than you already are!"  

[Fade_the_Pyro]

Aeris stared at her with a highly irritated expression.

"If you can't figure it out, then I'm not going to tell you." With a grunt of exersion Aeris hefted herself from her crevice and brushed off her clothes, a mimic of the way she had done earlier today.  

[Michiru Tendo]

"Aaaw, no fair no fair! How am I supposed to know why- eep!" Another loud noise echoed through the cave, making the girl jump slightly and wrap her arms tightly around Cosette's neck. Karen's face suddenly turned red as she realized that Aeris must have been watching her in her pathetic state for quite a while. She quickly let go of her Ponyta, stood up straight, and coughed a little out of embarrassment.  

[SephiLyn]

Tiger snored loudly in the forest. Both he and Lyn were sleeping. The rain reduced to drizzling but Tiger still felt it was too wet as he blinked open his eyes. It was early morning, the sun wasn't yet up but the forest pokemon were moving about. Tiger let his head rest against Lyn's stomach as he fell asleep again.

Aeris raised her eyebrows at the girl's behavior, noticing her mock courage almost immediately and wondering why she was bothering to mask it when Aeris could see right through it anyway.

"It's pretty common to be scared of the dark." With slow purposeful movements she tucked a lock of black hair behind her ear, and gave Karen a small smile of reassurance. She offhandedly noted that it was the first one she'd graced her new friend with.  

[Its-a-Lyn]

#1 had been waiting in Oldale. Nothing special in particular, but the new Cinnabar Cinnabun was about to open. He loved those Cinnabar Cinnabuns and so did his Plusle and Minun. He had been standing in line since midnight just to make sure he could get one hot and fresh. The owners were suppose to arrive by four in the morning to make special preperations. It was now 4:30. He was beginning to think they weren't going to show up. "Well...the always have a store open in Rustboro. Hey! Liz should be over there by now, I'll give her a call." He took out his cell phone and made his call, leaving her a nice message and asking for her to meet him in Mauville. Since he was somewhat near there, he should go visit his nephew and brother. He heard that Claudio had finally managed to beat his father and became the new gym leader. #1 was wondering how Claudius was taking it...

Karen laughed nervoulsy in reply as her blush increased. "Yeah, I guess it is. Though it's a little silly to be so scared of something like that."

Karen felt better seeing Aeris smile at her. It gave her something else to focus on, other than the dark cave. She also noticed how the small smile made her face light up and how she looked even more beautiful than before. Karen wondered how long she would be able to be with this girl, or if Aeris had some place she needed to journey to. She'd ask her about that later. For now, she simply returned the smile with one of her own.  

[Its-a-Lyn]

#2 had been busy digging in the Desert. That place always made her happy. She was aware that she had to travel to Kanto again. The Champion had left her a list of errands to do on her voice mail. She never understood why it was always her. #3 and #4 never did so much. But she didn't mind helping the Champion and she actually felt proud that she was trusted so much. She took out her Flygon and flew off. First part of her business involved the Kanto Pokemon League. Their Elite Four members didn't battle much any more and the process for getting new members was very slow compared to the Hoenn way. The League board members decided it would be best to hold a tournament to place the new Elite Four. #2 was to act in place of the Champion. Whatever they do, I can't let them replace her. Kanto will need a new champion but Hoenn can wait out longer. Hmph! I won't let anyone beat me! That's all there is too it! I'll keep them from replacing you...where ever you are... She began preparing for the worst.

Aeris folded her arms and began to trek back towards the entrance, leading Karen back before she made herself lost.

"I used to fear the darkness." She started, the smile fading from her face. "Then I became a part of it, and learned about everything that creeps in the dark. Now I know I have nothing to fear if I, in turn, do not fear it."
